  1. 1. When do you expect the announcement?

    • March 3rd - March 10th
    • March 11th - March 18th
    • March 19th - March 26th
    • March 27th - April 3rd
    • Later...
  2. 2. How many more weeks until the release (after the announcement)?

Modding is a really nice thing, but I don't even start thinking about it until I have played the game to death, which usually takes months or even years in GTA. The only problem is that when I mod my game, then I keep it that way for a few days to weeks and then I re-install the whole thing just to re-play the original version again. I have done that tens if not hundreds of times with San Andreas and GTA IV. It wouldn't surprise me if I did the same with V as well.

Here's hoping for a Steam Workshop section for GTA V, though, that'll keep your add-ons persistent and that can be disabled at any time.

That's if Rockstar decided to be open to the modding community and integrates GTA V with Steam Workshop.

But seriously, is that something you really think is going to happen in our lifetime? Hahaha

Modding is why GTA has such a longevity on the PC. I think it'd be a smart business move.

whats_a_username?

R* don't make any money off of mods. So why would they do that?

The longevity is going to be Online, and mods won't be allowed there. So it doesn't even make sense from your longevity point of view.

R* would push more copies of Online and GTA V with modifications than without modifications. It'd keep both singleplayer and multiplayer fresh and bring in new buyers years later whereas Online would not be as effective with bringing in new buyers.

Marketing strategy or whatever else, but this is starting to get ridiculous, seriously.

What the hell are they waiting for?

Console version has been on sale for 5 months now, do they really think PC gamers are still buying consoles to play this old game? We are not that stupid, R*.

I know you are reading, so please stop being such assholes cause you did it for 5 months already and announce this fkin PC version.

IV was announced when the game wasn't ready, do you remember what happened? A delay... V was to be released in October/ November but the game wasn't ready so they needed a few extra months to polish it, that date ends in March, If it's done by then it will get announced a few days after (expect it around 2nd or 3rd week), if it's not it will be internally delayed again and you won't hear about it till it's complete. Once it's complete you'll get an announcement and this way Rockstar is sure there won't be any delays known to the public and everyone will be happy. Simple as that... and this is not speculation, but I won't insist about that anymore.

So all you have to do is wait till it's set to be released, unless you want the game released followed by 10 patches in less then 5 months ... IV took 8 to be "acceptable" and even that wasn't for all.

It still ain't gonna happen. And if it does, I will set up a live stream and cut my balls off

That would be fun to watch, better yet, make a post on Newswire ... I'll offer the popcorn's.

you guys conversate like your expectations for a PC version of GTA5 "will" happen. Which obviously isn't looking likely at all this far along. Rockstar's cater has never been to PC, their marketplace has always been on console's (since that is where the biggest majority of us gamers spend our time playing, except for you snobby PC folk.)

if they had any intent for releasing a PC version, it would have been officially announced by now. keep in mind that before the game even launched on consoles, Rockstar countlessly confirmed that "next-gen" releases for it are not going to happen, and since some of you consider PC the same level as next-gen, you can say that means a PC version won't be happening either. And even in the off chance of it happening, it's quality is going to be no greater than the console versions, and more than likely EXTREMELY buggy and unplayable (performance wise) for 9/10 people who experience it on their PC.

take a look at GTA:Online and all the DLC, do you really think that entire mass experience (which is the highlight and gold of gta:v) is going to end up on PC? those who play the game on our console's and have fair knowledge of the PC gaming market should easily understand where i'm coming from.

So in other words you have no business in this thread and only further to derail it.

Oh and btw I just went on my RSC account to accept a friendship request and the irony around it is huge (inside the red squares)... all the images are of V now:

Well Yeah I know, I mean I'm not saying this means something but it's ironic that my Windows Account have the settings in a game background not available for it... yet.

I'm sure it will, but it's still ironic. Far as I remember that didn't happen with RDR and If I remember right it happened with MP3.

So... GTA V for Games for Windows Live confirmed then, SILVER?

I REALLY hope not. I can't even play my GTA IV because of GFWL issues. I am willing to bet it will have nothing to do with that.

GFWL is DEAD!

No more games will be released on GFWL!

GTA V will be on STEAM/SOCIAL CLUB !

Yeah, GFWL shuts down July 1st I believe. That means any game that uses GFWL for Multiplayer will have their MP stop working.

And that, if Rockstar really cares about us *thing that seems not to happen* they will release a patch for IV, so we can play it MP again.

Fat chance of that happening. Despite IV needing at least 1 or 2 more patches, it's clear that Rockstar has completely abandoned the game. But they still got 5 months to do something about GFWL, so no pressure or anything. They just gotta release V on PC, release DLC and get GTA Online out of beta, and maybe do something about the GFWL issue.

Or R* can just give a 30 days notice, saying that they'll no longer support multiplayer for GTA IV

@RyanBurnsRed
Yeah, I still freaking dream for a performance patch...
Really, I'm 99% certain this will never happen, but I would really like to see IV running at a great FPS here...
*Performance of IV is so bad that when I enable shadows *+Low* on Patch 1.0.7.0 the FPS drop to 20, unplayable.*
Want to know my specs? Send me a PM.

I am expecting to max out Grand Theft Auto V on Ultra with about 45-60 FPS with my setup.

GPU: Radeon HD 7850 2GB

CPU: AMD FX 8150 3.6GHz

RAM: 16 GB

PSU: 700W

My rig is not the best but I am expecting excellent optimization for Grand Theft Auto V PC.
