I'm intending a 760 4GB model by EVGA for my next rig.

GTX 760 is good, GTA V low 70 FPS, Medium 55 FPS, high 40 FPS

40 FPS on an old gen game with GTX 760? Nah dude, just no. Well unless you set the AA to 16x MSAA or something.

Less than 30 sometimes for me

Probably because I've put too much ped/vehicle AI into the game via mods and it bottlenecks through my i5 2500k or something

Since all of you guys talking about videocards... I am planning to buy a GTX680. It costs around $330-$350 used in my country. Or should i buy an other card thats worth it more price/percofmance-wise? Also im curious if this price is good/bad compared to the countries you live in? I live in Hungary, maybe you've heard about how f*cked up our currency this time..

Excuse me for being off-topic.

You are talking about IV? It's a poorly optimized game dude.

Souzooka:Bottlenecking isn't the problem. The FPS drops is cause the bad optimisation.I think even on i7 4960x the framerate drops.

Oh, my bad. I thought that GTA564 wrote IV, not V. Probably skimmed over it and read "old gen."

No not really. The GTX 680 is more powerful than the 690 :/

I guess your logic is flawed.

are you for f*cking serious?? or just troll or stupid?

This day GTX 690 still surpass a single GTX 780 Ti, in term of basic raw performance.

GTX 690 has Dual 680.

Not every game can use those dual GPUs, and the 680 can overclock higher than the 690. In a lot of cases, this means the 680 is a lot better.

For 1080p even GTX 760 is enough. For 1440p you need at least 4GB to feel confident.

I want a videocard that last minnimun 2 years and that will be able to run "next gen" games on max settings.
I think 2 (or 3 sli for v ram) sli GTX 780ti classified would be enough. What is wrong with you? 770 will be enough, I would go with 780 if money isnt issue. And what the heck did you meant with "or 3SLI for vram"??? You DONT stack vRAM! If you have SLI cards that have 3GB vRAM that means max vRAM is 3GB and NOT 6GB.Didn't know that :p

Btw how 770 would be enough it has 1536 cuda cores only

A GTA V PC Announcement tomorrow would make my day.

This. 680 can overclock higher than 690 most of the time. Not only that, it's cheaper as well. 690 is known for better heat consumption and better looking. Expensive piece of sh*t.

@DlZZEE

16x MSAA, very high for all setting, 1600x900 - 40 FPS

How can you know? The game isn't even released yet and I doubt V will support MSAA.

1600x900? 40 FPS?

Nah.

I just want to add that this is only my assessment

and I believe there's other people here that could give a more accurate assessment

read sentence what i bold.

wait for a single Maxwell High End series, might be they finally release the real single GPU that can surpass a GTX 690 (minimum 20-30% faster.)

When 2GB Video Ram is not enough for GPU, then just turn off your AntiAliasing and you can play for the next few years without problems.

For those who don't know - yes, AntiAliasing is THAT power-hungry.

To play at the MOST MAXIMUM is impossible, yes. But turning off maximum AA provides you extra few years on High-Ultra settings :D

you doesn't really need to turn off AA completely, you can use FXAA.

yeah, for MSAA x2/x4 is enough this day. x8 MSAA or above is performance killer (if the Resolution is on fullhd or above).

Also, Rockstar probably wants to make the game much more scalable in order to appeal to a larger market of PC gamers (with the lastgen toggle/effects on one end, and DX11 effects on the other end), so I doubt that switching from maximum settings to the very lowest will net less than a 100% performance increase.

Maybe we'll get it in march because Take two are expecting 170-200 millions net revenue.

And with the releases in this time they won't get that much because there are only bundles or rereleases for PC.

So it has something to do with GTA V, either a sp dlc or the PC version. I don't think they would make so much money with the dlc. Maybe they want to release it with the PC version so they have a reason to sell it for the full price, because it would be almost six months.

What do you think?

Edit: It would also match with the "six month rerelease"

As if i am going to pay the full price for a half year old game... rofl...

LOL I can only wish to have a connection like that ... 120 mb/s ?! I have 5 mate. And the upload is stuck at 40 kb/s.

Still paying 16€ per month.

By the way what are your thoughts about tommorow guys ? I'm cursious if I will read this topic in like 2 months or so, if we will still discuss a possibility and keep saying "tommorow it's happening", or getting ready for playing online together and pre-ordering.

In 2 months from now, V will hold the record for the length between the launch of the console version and the PC announcement by far.

February, including tomorrow, seems like a due time for an announcement.
