Can't find anything on next gen either, but I could've sworn it was there. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I don't care to try. I couldn't give half a f*ck about the next gen consoles.

 

 

The references far as I know is something like [NG] tags, referring to Next Gen I assume, I remember those lines. PC not only have those tags but also references to "PC Platform".

 

 

 

GTA IV broke the world record for number of sales in a day back when it was released, and GTA San Andreas is the best selling PS2 game of all time.

Rockstar expected GTA V to sell really well. I agree they most likely didn't expect it to be THIS popular, by breaking like 5 world records, but they had their expectations.

 

Now that those expectations have been met, and then some, I wonder what they'll do now.

 

The expectation I was talking about wasn't only the number of sold copies, but also the fact that after so many months its still selling. So there is potential if people are still looking for it, and once there is more content or something new that is interesting these numbers might increase without the revelation of any other platforms. But let's be honest Rockstar stated ONLINE is to last for years and years and it's another example of titles like APB or WOW ... a game that will evolve and offer premium items for a cost. For sure Rockstar isn't expecting people to keep stuck to their old console after getting used to the new ones or to make much money from console users that demand everything for free and even exploit the game to get things faster.

 

Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone but a huge number is like this, they buy the game once and expect to have full support for the rest of their life. On the other hand there is also anothe rfact that could be delaying this decision, and that is the current NG market. It is good for the time available, but according to SONY back in November they sai dthey expected to reach 6 million users in about 6 months, Microsft also had similar expectations... so a few more months could almost double the NG platform.

Because of all this silence consoles are still selling. At this stage T2 is the one calling the shots, Rockstar just have to obey, while Rockstar only got GTA V and GTAO, T2 have a lot of titles to explore and take profit from.

That was my first guess, I mean a 6 month agreement between MS, Sony and Rockstar could be possible. The only way to find out would be if they announce something on march, where the "6 month agreement" would end.

I just hope we have some news on Thursday Event or Friday nonetheless.

Didn't T2 say in the teleconference R* has to announce anything regarding gta v pc? If I remember that correctly, it means in a certain way R* also has a saying in announcing for ng/pc, probably more than T2 has.

That wouldn't be proof. Proof would be R* announcing the agreement, in the same way that R* announced the agreement with Sony for the III-era games and with Microsoft for the IV dlc. There is no evidence of any current agreement.

I wanted to bring up a point about an exclusivity agreement. Not only is there no evidence for one, but it doesn't make sense. San Andreas was exclusive to PS2, and then came to Xbox and PC at the same time. IV was going to be exclusive to PS3, and then Microsoft paid them to make it for X360, and then it was also ported over to PC because it was no longer exclusive.

 

With V it released on PS3 and Xbox 360 at the same time, and there's no evidence of any agreement. It doesn't make sense that Microsoft and Sony would come together to make sure it didn't arrive on PC, but it makes more sense that Rockstar is holding a PC version back for either more optimization of console sales.

All i've been reading for the last 10 pages is pure bullsh*t. Release in March, yeah sure.. anything else i can get you? Maybe a few million dollars just becouse..? Even if they make an annouancement in the near future (which is highly unlikely), the release will be at least 4-6 months from that.

i'm pretty sure GTA 5 PC will be release in April/May this year.

 

but actual announcement i'm not really sure, maybe in this Feb/March.

 

if anything beyond that, then it will be the worst in history of waiting for gta pc version.

Would like to know that too.

I've got over 100 games on Steam. A collection is great and all, but it's much more convenient to always have my games there on Steam and when I get a new PC.

GTA 3 need 154 days to announced PC version, currently is the longest waiting for announcement since initial console release date.

On the topic of mods/hacks/exploits for GTA Online, I hope that GTA Online will enforce consistency for most of its files in normal freeroam and competitive/cooperative matches, but also have separate freeroam lobby types where people with modifications (one for mods that have little effect, and one for mods that have huge effects - although I suppose that would have to be player-moderated), so I could freeroam in Online with more realistic handling and better damage modeling.

Or you know, they should just stick to what they did with IV.

 

I have 200 hours in IV, and I've only come across 2 hackers. Both times were in a race. 1 guy kept teleporting into first place, and the other blew everyone up in front of him.

In free roam, almost everyone is using the SNT, but even then it's not totally necessary because there's not as much random killings as in the console versions. But then again, free roam is meant to have fun and do whatever you want. This isn't the case in GTA Online. You need money to buy cars, guns, and other things. If you die, all the money you have on you can get stolen by the guy that killed you. Also there's K/D ratios and other stats that syncs with your Social Club. So players would just kill other players to boost their stats and K/D ratio. If anything, having invincibility in free roam would be very beneficial, even on the console versions. Passive Mode just doesn't cut it, because for some reason, you can still be killed while driving a car.

 

Also mods ≠ hacks.
