  1. 1. When do you expect the announcement?

    • March 3rd - March 10th
    • March 11th - March 18th
    • March 19th - March 26th
    • March 27th - April 3rd
    • Later...
  2. 2. How many more weeks until the release (after the announcement)?

Seriously, everyting about GTA 5 for pc, just feels like a bad & sad joke!

I have the impression that R* is enjoying that all fans are discussing about GTA 5. Daily you can see any posts or articles on E-papers about it... It is a kind of free advertising for them.

The retailers benefits about the situation and throw any wrong infos into the internet about GTA 5. Seems also only for free advertisement.

I am seriously highly disappointed of R*!

They let the PC users always wait and now what... they left us even in the unknown about if the pc version gonna be released.

A simple announcement wouldn't hurt anyone. It would simply let the fans know if there will be any pc version or not. The release date is at this point not important.

No, instead R* prefers to stay silent about it. Meanwhile they are losing a lot of fans!

Most of members of our GTA "club" left it and won't buy R* games anymore!

Once we always palyed online together and that was amazing but now we are all simply pissed off.

Is this the way how R* is treating all the fans?

We are expending money... so there should be a little more respect!

We as fans don't need to launch any petitons or sending emails for asking them about a release, it is the duty of R* to announce this fastly, cause they make money only because of us fans!

What would * be without us the fans? Nothing!

By the way, look at things that will make PC version far more superior than console version and still console version was delayed so I'm not really surprised we still didn't heard anything about PC version. It's pretty understandable they didn't released PC and console version simultaneously because who would buy defective console version over far more superior PC version? Exactly...

Here's the chart by MulleDK19:

http://treesoft.dk/misc/gameconfig_comparison.html

Oh jeez, I don't know...maybe people who don't have overpriced rigs and have a console instead? Are you that stupid? Any PC game released simultaneously with a console will reek compared to console sales, that's why they don't release any GTA game on the PC next to the console version.

Feel free to continue your console/pc war in PM, but keep it out of this thread.

Thanks for the information on what this all is..

Since you're getting a bit annoying I will reply to you one last time, it's my second time quoting this.

I made this comparison page some time ago.

http://treesoft.dk/m...comparison.html

This is a comparison of the various pool sizes in GTA V, for each specific platform, taken from the config file in the console version. The Xbox One is not defined and is only there for reference, and assumes base values.

Normally when making games (or any other kind of software), memory is reserved and freed as needed, however, on consoles reserving and freeing memory is a time critical process, and thus, Rockstar made the RAGE engine reserve all memory needed by the game at once, then reuse the memory without reserving more when needed.

This improves the performance on consoles, but has the side effect that the game can only create as many objects as the game has already reserved. (This is why there's a limit to how many people and cars you can spawn in GTA IV on PC, as instead of just reserving and releasing memory as needed (which is no problem on a PC), they use the same system as on console).

The values in that config file determines how much memory is reserved for each type of object.

Each row specifies how many entities to allow in each pool (array/list).

Eg. looking at the pool "CTask", it allows 1450 instances on current gen consoles, and 2000 on next-gen consoles, while on the PC it allows 8192.

This specific pool specifies how many tasks can exist in memory at any given time. So, for example, if one character in the game is told to enter a vehicle and drive away, that could possibly use up 6 tasks. ("move to door", "open door", "get in car", "close door", "start engine", "drive").

So not only is it more on the PC, it's over 8 times more.

Or if you look at the "Object" pool, it's configured for 800 on consoles and 8192 on PC. This specifies how many objects can be in memory at the same time. Objects are all the things placed in the game world, like trash cans, bricks, traffic lights, fyre hydrants, etc. Basically anything non-static.

The "CWeapon" pool is configured for 117 on consoles and 1024 on PC. This is the number of simultaneous weapons in the game world.

Now the really interesting part is the "AnimatedBuilding" and "Building" pools.

The "AnimatedBuilding" pool is configured for 210 on consoles and 600 on PC, while the "Building" pool is configured for 28500 on consoles and 32000 on PC.

Now, a building in the game engine isn't just buildings like houses, etc. Everything static is a building, so buildings, bridges, trees, etc. are all buildings.

That there are 3500 more buildings and 390 more animated buildings on the PC than the consoles, is an interesting thing to think about.

It might mean that we'll get as many trees as seen in all the official screenshots.

The difference between Building and AnimatedBuilding? I'm not sure, as I've been unable to distinguish them on a technical level in GTA IV.

However, AnimatedBuilding could be all the static things that move, like trees, flags, etc., they could also be something completely different. Trees, flags, and other moving static things may also be just Buildings.

But if AnimatedBuilding does represent things like trees, 390 extra at any given time is still a lot.

Then again, if they're just Buildings, we're talking 3500 extra.

Yipp ppppppthis is me being very annoying, because after all everyone in this forum has seen that specific post.

On the other hand, very interesting.

I'm thinking about throw 2 parties: one when the official announcement come (Free the Hype Party) and one in the day before the release date (Let's Lose Our Jobs party)

He said in a very weird mode....

BTW, what I understood of his tweets is that the devs are still polishing the game...

Not polishing but making sure we will have max quality, so because of this they haven't announced, they may not know if they will end at time to release, so they aren't risking an announcement with a confirmed release date, I don't think they would like to say for us that they needed to delay the PC version Due to incomplete game.

What they meant is, releasing the game now would be a disappointment for US, the game wouldn't look any much better from consoles version apart from vastly improved aa 1080p 60fps ect. They only need a few more months to polish it and it's ready to ship, until then, NO announcements. 1 week before release.

There is a movie, Called "Tortured" with the Hollywood actor "COLE HAUSER", sounds familiar? there is that scene where you can see this house with the date on the curb. im sorry I don't know how to post it, can someone help and find it, it points to 07.february.2014

The house seen in the movie is the exact "for sale" house from the trailers with the 2405 thing.

You're kidding right. What are you trying to say. That movie is from 2008, it's Dan Houser not hauser. And feb 7? It could be any day. Just because it's the same sort of curb like in the trailer.

America is full of curbs like that. Good luck with watching that movie with a clue that leads to disappointland.

This movie is from 2008, how could this have something to do with that? Even if GTA V has been in development ever since, a date for a PC announcement couldn't have been planned at this point. Or could it?

Ok Guys, im not kidding or trolling, did you guys know that rockstar like to USE SCENES FROM WELL KNOWN MOVIES?.. its nothing new and they also like to plant clues all over the place.

AAAAND besides the 17 of September does appear a lot on l.a noire, check the last page No.97

if you ever played GTA IV, remember the mission where you chase the train? its from a movie...

Accept it's not a well known movie, is it? And since when have they been using clues from movies anyway? Why are you guys falling for this troll?

So looks like the "2405" number in GTA V Trailer, was a reference to "Tortured", an Easter-Egg!

Even if really was referencing to that movie, which again isn't well known, then it doesn't mean it's linked to the PC release, I mean it came out in 2008. They were only making it V at that time.

No man, I am a PC gamer.. you can check my gamertag on social club, and on GTA IV leaderboards.

and the movie was released on 16.september.2008, exactly 5 years later came gta v.
