The 21 day Coveted challenge...

Yeah, but not as quickly. I'd much rather just play missions at random, however it'd take me forever to accumulate the required money to buy what most people have already cheated to get. Nearly everyone has either an Entity or an Adder (or both), regardless of their rank. I suspect in the majority of instances they glitched, cheated, or got given a ton of cash by cheaters, allowing them to buy whatever they wanted.

I've done none of that, so the only way for me to quickly get the things I want and catch up (plus rank up to unlock equipment) is to farm missions like Coveted. It's actually not so bad - gives you chance to attempt the mission in different ways.

Survivals are the way to go. $20k for every completed one and the more you kill, the more RP you earn.

The only mission I'd think of grinding like this would be Base Invaders. $25k on the first successful play-through and $18k thereafter.

It goes quick but the game's better with friends, just grab a few and start doing missions. There's quite a few now that give decent pay out and RP and before you know it you'll be level 120.

I love doing survivals and could do them all day long...RR pays 18750 when you get it.

He can do coveted twice in the time it takes to complete a survival and end up with mor rp and more cash.

If you get stuck with a couple of slackers a survival can take up to 20 minutes for 20 grand. In that time he could have done coveted atleast 4 times making 48 grand and over 8000 rp.

But at least doing a survival breaks up the routine...I am rank 131 so now everything I do is gravy.

You can just easily get slackers in missions. Grinding Coverted like this seems a bit pointless and not in the least enjoyable. Since the cash wipe I've pretty much only done Survivals and have been ranking up pretty quickly and making decent money.

You can't have fun without cash in this game. Or at least the amount of fun one can have without cash is limited.

OT: I tried Coveted for the first time last night and found that I could make about $100K per hour. I was actually pretty impressed by not only the payout, but the "fun factor". I remember grinding Pike's Basin during my RDR days and even with x3 XP payouts I found it excruciating after just a few rounds.

Havent been following but if I were you I would invest in a buzzard as soon as you can and do the mission crystal clearout 3.I did this and joined only high rp/cash missions if they were available. If you continue you will make all your money back and in the end have more rp and probably the same if not more money. This is just my opinion and based on my own experiance. I jumped about 80 ranks in 21 days.

yeah when I was gunning for level 100 that's what I was doing too. Far more faster and easier than coveted Edited by da_illest101

And so the first week has passed..

Well, it's not been anywhere near as painful as I'd imagined it'd be..

So as for progress.. well in one week I've climbed 29 levels (would've been nice to get 30, but still..) and I've made at least $1.6M plus in cash.. (not 100% on that as I've also been spending and not really kept accurate records, but it seems about right..)

As for monotony.. well, breaking it up into smaller chunks works.. also varying certain parts of the mission also help..

There's been a few slips ups admittedly... container hitting a wind turbine, crashing the chopper into the container.. and some wtf moments... the best of which was probably mistaking the grenade launcher for a shotgun and taking the pilot out with that... how the cargobo survived I don't know, and then I had to fly it with the engine cutting out with increasing frequency... nervous journey to say the least.

So, as for the rest of this "project"... well doing a bit of a megasession tonight to get my last three levels cleared to get the heavy sniper... then things should get more interesting/quicker.. I reckon it'll easily shave 25% off the time if I can get group kills by blowing things up and also one shot kills all the time..

so yeah, this can be done and it's nowhere near as torturous as you'd imagine.. and the light at the end of the tunnel is that there's nothing material to level up for past 120, so I can actually chill out, enjoy my money and weaponary and perhaps do a little farming for :catloaf::catloaf::catloaf: when the need arises..

Though I think in a fortnight's time I'm giving this mission a bit of a break for some reason... :facedesk:

Are you leaving the weather and time of day fixed, or allowing that to change? For variety I'd probably play with current time of day (so you can see time passing) but always on clear so you're not hindered by poor visibility.

Nah, I've done that by mistake a couple of times and found that at night it's a serious pain... morning isn't that bad though..

but yeah, generally clear at noon so I can see them heads that need popping a mile off! :D

Hah! I did this exact same thing the other day - whipped out my shotgun to kill the pilot and BOOM! Huh? Oh, whoops, that was the grenade launcher! Like you, the Cargobob survived somehow.

I cocked up a few times last night. Once managed to land the cargobob in the sea just before the container (whilst swinging side-to-side to try to close the door) and another time I tried to come in low kn the drop point to drop the container and smacked the fence surrounding the drop area - container destroyed, failed! Noooooo!

As for the time of day, I've obviously not been paying attention, because I didn't realise you could change it. Doh! I did about 3 missions back to back in dark fog! FFS! Will definitely be changing this later!

Lol.. one mission I did somehow manage to crash the container and helicopter in the drop zone, blowing everything up... :panic:

However... it passed the mission as the container was supposedly delivered at the very instant the impact happened!

Nah, occassioanly throw in a Crystal Clear Out 3 if I'm on the edge of a level up...

but other than that, Coveted all the way... then again, it's like being on autopilot now.. :D

If ever there was a "good" argument for glitching this has to be it, this has to be without a doubt the most boring thing i have read on here.

Why does it bother you? It does not affect you and he would not do it if he was not enjoying it.

Well it is boring, there's no doubt, but it's more showing that a little effort will actually get you somewhere rather than bitching and wailing about not having everything at once..

It also perhaps underlines the mechanics of the game, insomuch as to get somewhere you've got to put the work in and that work isn't particularly interesting right now. It also shows tat you can level up quite rapidly with the effort as well..

I seriously doubt heists are going to be panacea to this and I wouldn't be suprised if taking part in heists was highly conditional.. I mean, do you really want a lvl2 as a getaway driver? I'd rather have Stevie Wonder at the wheel tbh...

That, and it looks like heists won't have big payouts anyway. Looks like maybe $20k for something that will take more time and effort than any current mission due to the set-up beforehand.

That said, I can't wait to have a go at them. It can be boring to farm Coveted, but by now everybody has probably played most/all of the missions anyway, so you're re-doing everything no matter which mission you pick.

I loved doing survivals when I was a low level player but it's just not worth it at level 70+.. takes too long, wastes a lot of bullets... I can do Coveted three or four times in what a survival would take.
