GTA V: Next Gen Console Discussion

I'm starting to think the "sixth month rerelease" is just gonna be another old gen edition with all the DLCs so far packed in. I think it's impossible they're developing a NG version with all this focus on the old gen.

Mid 2015 would still be like 3 or even 4 years before GTA6. So its possible.

I still doubt that they will release a Next Gen or PC Version, at this point.

They wont announce it before the the Story DLC.

No. No GTA 6 until like 2019-2020. I mean, they might announce a new iteration of RD, Bully, MC series and they could use GTA 5 current-gen as a Marketing tool.

Maybe its because I played it already. I havent even finished the game and got it since release.

Imo it isnt worth checking for news every day.

Was quite a dissapointment to me.

They just missed way too many obvious features and it did not feel like a typical GTA for me. Did not have the GTA vibe I got from all the other GTA games.

The way it looks now, not going to happen anytime soon or to be precise it is never going to happen. The PSP got 3 Spin-offs, because the handheld was actually very successful. The PS Vita will never achieve 1/3 of the PSP's success, because the PSP never had the smartphone and tablet competition the PS Vita is having now.

I think that NG versions will be quite different compared to LG versions,i mean it has to be the ultimate version,with all the updates that was already released + the new ones on LG,better graphics,maybe some exclusive,and im sure players will have everything from the start,the only question is when.....

I don't think NG/PC versions will be announced anytime soon. R* will probably release many more updates to GTAO plus single player DLC sometimes in the future. After all that, then they'll get to PC version. It's just most logical move business wise.

I've had a little chat with Silver Wolf on PM, and he said this:(sharing this with approval)

Well I said all I knew already in the PC discussion thread which was closed. Both PC and PS4 versions are ready but they are being held because of the XB1 version. According to the information I got about 2 weeks ago (last time I had communication with Rockstar) they expect it to be ready by the end of April beginning of May, and that's when we should expect an announcement of PC, PS4 and XB1.

They also told me after I questioned them about that job they listed about 2 weeks ago (someone experienced in video trailers with knowledge of PS and XB controls) that they want a very small gap between announcement and release so they need to have the trailer ready fast as possible.

So my guess and this is me speculating now, I think we should expect an announcement after April 21 to around 1st or 2nd week of May. They told me it would be around the last week of April and beginning of May but if they we're done with XB1 sooner the announcement could be 1 week sooner. So being positive the possibility of an announcement starts after Monday 21. Also looking closely and taking into account their desire to make the announcement and release right after (some weeks to a month tops) they could actually announce and release V even before Watch Dogs, which would be a clever strategy as I told them a few times before.

 

I wasn't going to post it on this topic because of all the sh*tstorm he got and gets everytime he says something, but he wasn't bothered:

I don't mind if you post, in fact will be interesting when it happens so they can suck their words. I've been receiving a lot of PM's daily of people asking this, I have almost 250 PM's now, so you quote what I said.

Based on all I said I expect the game to be announced between April 21st and May 9th, depending on how fast they are done with XB1. As for the release depending on the announcement date, the size of the gap they plan and if they want to face off Watch Dogs or wait till it's released, the game can be released in May or June. I doubt it goes later then that.

 

So, this seems like it's not going to be very long for it to be announced and released. I don't know if it's true what he's stating about his contact with Rockstar, but why the hell would someone make up such things just for being a troll. I don't believe that sh*t. But ok, we've had those talks on the forums a bazillion times, so no more bout that. Just wanted to share this with y'all.

If GTA V has been planned for the NG too, then it's not going to be any different. It will definitely come out this year and announcement will come anytime between now and June.

 

Now, if GTA V comes to the NG, maybe even PC at the same time, we never know, it's going to attract MUCH more customers for the NG consoles. And on top of that, it's a treat for the PC gamers too. GTA V is popular enough to create a frenzy even in the next generation market.

I think that's the plan. They want to releaed a mega polished version so that they can compete with Watch Dogs. They definitely cannot compete with R* on the last gen anyway.
