Are they willing to release the new versions that close to WatchDogs? We know GTA is by far a more popular franchise, well it has been around for years, but what about the players who have already played it last gen? As a huge fan of the series I would definitely pick up GTA V again for the PS4 (if the enhancements are visible) first even though I have already beaten it on PS3, but what about the broader audience?!

 

Im sure people out there are dying for a fresh experience and as much as the game is visually improved, the gameplay will remain identical. I suspect they would pick up WatchDogs instead.

 

That's the thing. I was told that they are pretty confident about V PC/NG, in fact we had a few "private" laughs talking about WD. But a way or another it's an IP that is getting a lot of attention and after so long without V news people are already decided about purchasing it. But we'll see if an announcement comes in the next weeks before May, it still has time to get the spotlight if it's done right.. specially when they show the requirements that aren't demanding as WD and should look better in NG platforms compared to the downgrades that WD will have for consoles.

 

This is why I say it depends if they want to face-off WD or wait till the heat goes off, if they're willing to steal the spotlight it's possible the game released before May 27th, but that is more of a personal expectation then what could actually happen. During my conversations with them I noticed R* likes to play it safe so they won't head dive into this, but we'll see.

As for all those rumors that keep taking release dates out of their ass... specially from websites like that is just to get views and have no value and most are made up. S&R for example is a dump in terms of news and use GTAV as a flag and a magnet and like that there are plenty others. The latest I heard from R* for a release was September 2014, but honestly that came as a trolling talk so I doubt he was even serious, specially because online isn't as successful as he was saying. It sounded more of a smoke screen then anything else. I had 2 contacts one was logical and sincere the other was a troll so I think was the usual trolling.

 

Anyway to release a title from 2013 in 2015 after all the spoiling and after the market gets saturated with amazing titles is only possible if the game is light years different and not only in visual terms is unthinkable. Specially when PC and PS4 are ready for almost a month... what would be the point of keeping stored a title that is ready for over a year without making any change? Only an idiot would even think about that.

I think this is exactly what Rockstar is waiting on. They like to steal the thunder from other games. They plan their announcements so that it happens to be around the same time another company talks about their upcoming game. I think they might have done it with WD already and I'm pretty sure they did it to Saint's Row 4.

 

Ubisoft says "Pre order WATCH DOGS!! Out next week!!"

 

Rockstar says "Buy GTA V for PS4, XBOX ONE AND PC!!"

 

Yes, they are two different games and will release at two different times. It really doesn't matter. Rockstar just likes sitting in the dark waiting for other companies to try talk about their games then they jump out and say "LOOK AT OUR GAME!! We want some of the spotlight too!! BUY OUR GAME!!"

 

That's why I think we won't hear anything until May when WATCH DOGS is about to come out. Rockstar are waiting patiently. They have it all planned out. They know the exact time and day they will announce the PS4/ONE/PC versions.

Just a standard reply. Nothing in it. They tell everyone to go to the newswire. They won't confirm anything in a comment to a single person but they'll do it on their website page designed specifically to release news to a huge audience.

Whenever someone asked them what about PC they said there is nothing us to say on that topic currently, now the answer is different. It makes alot of sense to release it also for next gen more than 10 mil of people own new consoles.

Yes I know but that's not what I'm saying, I'm asking if anyone made the same question but for NG, like "Hey Rockstar people are expecting GTA V for NG consoles, any chance of that happening soon?" Or something like that... the natural answer would be "We don't have anything to share about this" or something like it... but if they answer "Keep your eyes on Newswire for more info..." it means there will be info.

 

I mean you wouldn't tell people "Keep your eyes on Newswire to get information of denial or something that we never said it would be released".

 

This is common sense I guess, you don't get an announcement saying "The Last of US, available now for PS3 and released this summer for PS4 ... but not for PC, XBOX360, XBOX ONE, PS VITA, PSO, NINTENDO 3DS, NINTENDWii U...".

 

It's not like keep your eyes on newswire to get an announcement saying "GTA V coming soon for PC but not NG consoles".

I think we might be in for an announcement soon. I dont think I ever seen them reply to a PC question like that. I remember back in the day when we were waiting on info for the game, as soon as a couple of days before they shared anything they would start replying to coments and ask for people to keep an eye on the newswire.

I don't see the point of a thread exclusive to NG consoles considering there's no exclusive subject on NG consoles to talk about. Every speculation we have right now is about NG in general (PC and consoles).
