@Deadman, I think that may just be the moon reflecting onto the water from the sunlight. You'll see something similar at Mirror Park but blue.

Hmmm well when the mural has a jet pack and ufo on it then yes those are essentially about the decoding of the mural....

/yes, i agree fully but, the Mural also has deeper meanings other than "Do this to find a prize". It also has metaphoric meanings and is a piece of an even bigger mystery/puzzle than a Jetpack and flyable UFO.

So i'm not telling you guys you're insane for looking for something endlessly with no real evidence of it's existence, yet i'm being told to stop searching the other side of the mystery in the forum topic for the mystery, because it's not the other half of the mystery that most have faith in, that it "might" lead to a physical reward.

Is a message not rewarding enough?

Is enlightenment not reward enough for most?

Must you have a physical, shiny, brand new toy to play with to make it all worth while?

And is the weak possibility of that toy being obtainable worth being rude and jerky to people?

This is what the Mystery is about.

I agree with you but can't you consider that the 3 ufos in the sky after completing the 100% is rewarding you enough? This is not a physical toy but maybe the greatest easter egg of GTA V, regarding popular beliefs about the existence of the aliens, plot theory with the FIB involved, regarding also the experiences of the 3 characters during the main story with aliens. At the end, it would just confirm what players were suspected about their existence in game....And this (these ) easter egg(s) is a proof of the plot theory.... If it was only that, it would be a great and sufficient reward for me...

Maybe it is more than this but who knows....

So , lens flare is the most logical explanation here for these photos i grabbed in Deadmans cave at sunrise but is lens flair not just for cameras? I was seeing this effect with the "naked" (altruist pun intended i suppose) eye, without the camera out, is their natural lens flair of the naked eye?

JpNKPRp.jpg

UrnzA6P.jpg

GNlvvOc.jpg

The shapes and colors move around as you move your cam around

You gotta say, this common example of lens flare i found on the net looks an awful lot like the eye of zaphos

zDcYbcH.jpg

I do find it quite perculiar that since it was the Altruist Cave that led Deadman here under the conditions of sunrise it does give us this sort of eye of Zaphos looking shape,if its anything its a nice coincidence at least.

Also, more importantly, look at the four colours in the large rainbow circle. They are

Red Yellow Green & Blue.

The colours of the Altruist camp graffiti.

Also the Spectral colours.

One of the cult members at the camp remarks

"Wheres my Spectrometer?"

"Youll never find my spectrometer"

Spectrometer, an instrument used for measuring wavelengths of light.

Just thought id throw that out to see what you think of it.

I gotta say the lighting effects in this game are amazing!

@Xmarqs Several months before the game came out a user here made 3 threads labeled "Michaels Ego" "Franklins Ambition" & "Trevors ID" so labeling the characters with these tags is nothing new unfortunately.

This is a game, so I'll take a shiny new toy. I could care less about a reference to some mythological nonsense. Lets not forget, the mural may not have a thing to do with enlightenment, or some myth. It is an interpretation, not matter of fact.

Beard monster

The point of all of this hunt is if there is nothing more here then rockstar totally misread it's fans and it's Easter egg. We want more that's how good a job they did with this game. You can't create a world this so detailed and leave people hanging. Add a real conclusion or expansion to this mystery with another dlc.

I watched the sunrise at that cove near the human labs.

it was quit awesome in some ways(very mysterious), you can see one building from the human lab when looking as the eye with the sun in your back.

I wanted to investigate, but I didn't last long with 4 stars, will try again tonight.

@deadman... i think you may have misread something along the way here...

We never said your symbolism and stuff was brianism lol

Quite the opposite, you are following fact and we thrive on that here...

As poor fool posted, this is the journey brian and everyone are on, self discovery and all the rest of it...

If R* intended that then they are ridiculously smart and its a nice little hidden part of the game that not just anyone would pick up on...

However the self discovering religious type people only make up about 10% of the GTA community...

The other 90% want there cold hard metal rewards!! Infinate ammo, jetpack, useable ufo, lazer and buzzard spawn at hangars, 200% hp and armour and so on lol

Giving 10% of the fan base a gift of self discovery and a life time of research and giving the other 90% nothing would be a massive mistake by R* in my honest opinion :/

See, this is your Ego telling you that you deserve something else.

why would it be a massive mistake, did they promise some gigantic easter egg or did they add it out of the kindness of their hearts?

I never read a law that required game companies to add easter eggs to their games.

Sorry if this particular egg doesn't interest you and you would have preferred to have something different but, it is what it is.

The mystery wasn't made for you, it was made for us, the finders, not you, the seekers.

If you don't feel that you want to spend the time to fully research and understand the mystery then that's on you.

Nobody is going to explain it to you either because it means something different to everyone, so it's not possible to show you.

Look for your physical prize, be the 8, know doubt, that's ok too. It's what you're supposed to be doing, it's your archetype.

EDIT: If only you could see what you just said in the right light. You just made a huge joke and you weren't even aware. Bravo, sir.

Awesome, i want a JP too but, unfortunately this mystery most likely doesn't lead to one.

But hey, if i had it my way i would have added one, so why the hostility towards me. I;m simply trying to help you guys "Decode the Chiliad Mural" as per the topic title.

It's not what you think it is but, don't kill the messenger.

Just remember, nobody here deserves a Jetpack or a flyable UFO, nobody was promised to get one, and R* never hinted at one. If one happened to be in the game then great but, you guys act like you have been cheated out of something.

just admit it, you guys have no interest in actually solving this mystery, you guys just hoped it would lead to a physical reward in the end.

I again posted some super relevant stuff, nobody even bothered to comment on it, just more bitching about how the mystery isn't good enough and you guys want more, more, more.

Ok guys... brian has kindly written me a very long message on his blog...

I did promise to defend him and not laugh him out of here again, so i shall now reply and give my take on things...

@Brian and the brianists...

You will maybe be the only people to understand what i am about to say but please forgive me for adding MY truth (i will put it in plain english for the "unsaveables" afterward) ...

EYE know ME, EYE knew ME, EYE already discovered ME... EYE did not play as 3 characters, EYE played as 4... and when the 4th had a choice to make, EYE became the 5th character looking at the 4th.

my point is i get you, i get your blog, i get your message and i see how and why you have done what you have done and why you wont just hit people with it...

For ME myself though, i have long since known EYE could see things others could not... i called it my third eye for a long time and dont feel i needed GTA 5 or "the mystery/hunt" to teach me its teaching, i already knew them...

You could say though it has given me a 4th and 5th eye with seeing things EYE knew were there but as you have said, didnt want to face.

Ok now... @the "unsaveables" (yes thats you people reading this, thinking WTF? please dont tell me even tadd has gone now!)

No i am still here, just needed to explain myself to brian in a way he would truly understand...

So for the plain english version... GTA 5 offers the player a chance to see themselves and for the first time show you: that the decisions you make in life and in general are not just black and white... you as a person are not just black and white, there is more grey area in everything in life than there is black and white plain and simple things... GTA 5 is R*s attempt at a journey of self discovery... it is a way to show you all of you bad point, your greed and your hatred... it also shows you to be humble and to accept things and not just accept them at face value...

Its hard to explain unless you take the journey yourselves... its also vitually impossible for a younger person to look inside themselves to see and analyse yourself (EYE) which is why this will be lost on the younger members...

i still feel everyone here is smart enough (regardless of age and ability to self analyse) to understand the hidden message here.

I hope you all gather what i am saying and have a bit of an understanding of brian and this message/truth people have already found...

If you get to the end of what i have said and think HUH? Then maybe this little part of the game (or huge part considering how its interwoven into virtually every aspect of the game) isnt for you.

@brian... come out from the shadows, stop with the weirdness (i get why you did it but the cat is out of the bag and you really will just come across as a little weird now lol) we are big boys (most of us anyway)

and i do thank you for your blog and for being the first person to really get to the bottom of this very cool thing R* have created for us.

@everyone else, i hope you understand all the madness now and why brian didnt want to just ruin it for everyone... he instead roleplayed and attempted to help people find themselves the way he obvious has (even if he did go about it in a messed up way and was kind of rude at points, his journey even raised him to god level in his eyes until he reached the end and realised himself)

You had a good attempt at being the "guru" in all of this brian and rockstar should be happy that you and others who have taken the path you have to point out the clever work they have done in this game.

Edit: @Xmarqs... you can stop now also bro... yeh i get it... doesnt stop the greedy side of me or my expectations not being met though... i know myself so well though i was aware of my greed from the start... guess this journey as i said above in the cryptic bit, made me face it though and gave me a 4th and 5th view at myself...

anyway, well played boys, i will still continue to search though (more of a just in case sort of thing though) i guess this is my very curious side coming out and not wanting to let things go... my mummy was mean :( lol

You can create the effect by moving the player cam around, but it won't be as prominent. In vehicles, you can get to show more.

Oh and in addition to what i wrote up there... the game not only shows your short comings and how to accept them or get over them or just even be aware of them... it also shows how the world is messed up and lets you see things for what they really are... which is about us also since we turn a blind eye to it all the time... poverty, greed, conspiracy are all everyday things we fail to see in life and society... R* used the game to show the greed in everyone as well as any other subtle messages.

Clever stuff... im still wondering if it was intentional... i understand now that the message is clear but was it intended to be a self discovery thing or just an "open your god damn eyes people" message from R*

you shoot your movie since the beginning, you are the only one CBL in this game,

remember Omega: who was he looking for at your mind? who is the real alien of this game...

the balance sheet shrink was not a detail, and was not for 3 characters...

I felt that R*s message was self-evident. Nothing deeply encoded inside a cryptic mural, but something clearly expressed through the satire and parody that underlies the whole game. Just like South Park really. Profound philosophy dressed in toilet humour.

Then again I became aware a long time ago of the subtext beneath history as it is taught to us and "reality" as it is presented to us by our social, political, philosophical and ethical conditioning, so personally I feel nothing in GTA 5 is really an eye opener for an eye already opened. And I think a lot of eyes were already opening long before GTA 5 to be fair. I don't know many people who still take the news at face value or who are completely blind to the fact that our lives are controlled by bankers and businessmen, or who deny that the entire system of government as we know it is fundamentally broken because it no longer respects the rights or serves the best interests of the common people. But if R*'s game can open some of those eyes still closed, fair play to them. Illuminate the masses, and the Illuminati lose their power as esoteric knowledge becomes meme...yeah, I can see the intention there, though it may be a little over-ambitious perhaps?

The jetpack? Maybe it is simply a mythical McGuffin, a wild goose, and it is the hunt that is important because it is from this that we gain wisdom and experience, not from the quarry itself. On the other hand, maybe there's a jetpack in the game. In the absence of evidence to prove or debunk it then I'll keep an open, even hopeful mind.

Though the many subtle, contemporary culture-referencing easter eggs are cool (Anyone picked up on the Aquarius connections yet?), it's still thrashing a quad down a mountainside that gets my juices really flowing, so yeah....I'll take a jetpack over a "message" any day.

chill out dudes

the main problem i see in this thread is people disagree with each own ideas.

a little advice for you..

1.if other disagree with your ideas, just chill out

2.those who think that he/she is already solved the mural, dont get angry if other disagree.. or just stop posting on this thread (yeah if you think you already solved this, why bother reading this thread futhermore)

3.those who are currently on dead end and start to givie up (like me), just keep reading this thread and if you find any clue/new idea just post it.. then always remember number 1 (see above)

4.those who are posting trolls, just go the hell away

Man, all this talk of self-enlightenment and discovering your true self is horsesh*t people, smell the coffee and wake up.

People want tangible evidence in the form of a jetpack or UFO, or pretty much anything I think, to prove this whole hunt wasn't a waste of time. The truth is that even if it is, its been great fun searching a massive, well thought and well laid out world in Los Santos. I Think too many people are thinkin too far into this.

R* knows what theie fans are like and they know we love a good conspiracy theory/secret Item. They know we'll be looking for secrets months maybe even years into the future, so why would they put people onto this 'path of enlightenment' bullcrap?

Simple, they wouldn't. People make their own decisions in life and in game, and everything in gta is subjective; its dependant on the player how this is perceived.

So yeah, I could be wrong. Deadman could be chasing a ghost into a wall. My point is that telling people "your wrong, because I can't find tangible evidence" (basically) is wrong; unless you work for R* and can tell me everything about it, you know just as much as the rest of us, you can't make a call like that without facts. If people think there is a jetpack, a UFO, hell a ride-able King Kong in the game, then thats their perogative. Its their choice to look for it.

/Rant

Sorry to anyone who finds this distasteful or annoying

Actually, you know what? I mentioned Aquarius, and yeah sure you could do your own research but you all have lives to get on with and I'm not a cryptic mystic so...

http://www.astrology.com/aquarius-sun-sign-zodiac-signs/2-d-d-66917

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/claire-snowdondarling/why-is-2012-important-the_b_1750815.html

In real life you can spot the sign of Aquarius on the Starbucks and Pepsi logos, among others. In-game you can spot it on the LS Water Co. and Jetsam logos, among others. It's a less commonly recognised symbol sometimes associated with Illuminati dogma. I won't go into all the potential connections you could make between the stuff in those links I've posted and certain themes presented in GTA 5, because you can do that yourselves (and I don't want to encourage the crazies too much), but I think there's some interesting tidbits to muse about and ponder over if you have time to read it.

evidence of ufo, jetpack and egg and the story so far.

1. long before the game released there were lots of people talking about wanting the jetpack again, and subplots involving aliens and ufos. zombies was also a popular choice but it's been done to death.

2. shortly before the game released we had the 'leaked' trophy list telling us to find spaceship parts for omega.

3. around the same time we got the final trailer which seems to show a hovering ufo in the first couple seconds. seems smaller and different from the fib / military saucers we have seen thus far and it's in a different location.

4. we get the game and in short time find the mural which seems to indicate three prizes ufo, egg, jp. we still don't have a reasonable explanation for this mural yet imo. the 'how you play the game' theory seems to fit best at this point but this is difficult and time consuming and will put most people off.

5. we find the other ufos in game but they are static and obviously government owned and using advanced tech. these must have been built by reverse engineering probably from the sunken ufo or another as yet unseen ufo.

6. the file hunting starts and finds us an alien looking egg still unseen in game and an alien hud. i think it's unlikely that the government ufo's would use an alien text hud and further file hunting on ufos shows that they seem to be just static models with no way to enter or use them so i would say we are looking for a real alien ufo possibly being studied in a secret government facility. this ties in nicely with common ufo conspiracy theories and the ufo in the trailer.

none of this means that there really is what we want in the game but they really have made us think there is, and if not then they really have played a sh*tty deceitful trick on us.

@ungreth... i agree with what you say, i feel all this was pretty obvious but no one wanted to actually get into for fear of ending up like brian or being treated like he was (not saying he wasnt a dick in return) ...

Only now that ive had some balls to see whats poppin with them, can we say for sure that there is a big hidden message and its about self discovery and also opening peoples eyes to themselves and the world around them...

If we are looking this hard into GTA symbols and references then we will probably carry on doing so in the real world... i know half of you have walked down the street and thought you spotted something mural related since you started hunting... i find myself reading stone plaques on the side of old buildings as i walk past and looking at maps differently and all sorts of things lol (i wont even go into how everytime i see an eye somewhere i say to my family "look the mural eye" lmao)

Anyway... the messages are there, whether R* intended it to be this eye opening experience or to just be some cool "hey look at our mysterious symbols" kinda thing is to be debated or confirmed by them.

I agree that they cannot open an eye that was already open... this is what i said up there basically... i already know myself and the issue in society very well, done the whole spiritual awaking thing, gaining knowledge, knowing myself, accepting my weaknesses and strengths and so on lol i did all the freemason owl research way before gta and knew about bilderburg and so on... they have maybe just refreshed it in my head though and also made me sit up and listen a little more, so kudos to them for that.

Anyway, now we know about it we can move on and attempt to find if there is anything more, or if this is it.

I am still hopeful for a false wall but at the same time, prepared for there to be no more to the game other than these little references and symbolisms.

Apparently kraff up there wont let it go though lol ... or he is just a straight up troll who got too high and infront of the keyboard :p

Edit: and can i just say... brian and everyone believe the game is showing us our greed for wanting a jetpack and stuff... i think they may even believe that is you dont want the jetpack or some reward then that is the key to gaining it... either way im gonna try go about it the fact and proof way... i chose this path for my life a long time ago (to not be religious and such) so i will continue to be that way in everything i do... i believe if there is anything more it can be gained both ways, spiritually and taking the journey that is GTA 5 or factually and ripping the files apart and searching every inch of the map lol

it is every persons own decision how they want to hunt or what they want to believe...

It is at this point i think we need to split into 2 topics though... one religious/spiritual symbolism and all the rest of it and one a factual topic with just hard facts... this is why heads butt everyday on this topic :(

Must you have a physical, shiny, brand new toy to play with to make it all worth while?

Yes.
