Not gonna quote a long post, but @ XMarqs...I agree that when seeing the half-glyph in game it certainly looks like that extra curve is part of the design, not simply rock texture. It's just more faded, but looks like the same paint. Pics can't do it justice.

 

However, weren't the graphics for the glyphs found in the files and that extra curve wasn't there?

Actually, and somebody correct me if i'm wrong here but, i think the glyph's that are the same as each other are actually the same texture but only one part of a bigger picture, if that makes sense. Like all the glyph's are on one image and the actual part shown in the game might just be in a corner.

That is a good theory and often games do exactly that, one larger texture but placed with different off-sets on different sides or objects - for example the front and back of a newspaper can be the same texture.

 

But with the glyphs I believed each one was it's own separate texture such as cs1_10_clue_mountain01.xdr or cs1_10_clue_moon01.cdr, etc rather than them being part of a larger texture containing them all that could be manipulated with off-setting.

Interesting reading. Possibly the fading on the two glyphs at the bottom of the mountain represent the sun coming up over the top of the horizon and the moon going down at the opposite horizon. In other words as the sun comes up we only see it partially until it's fully set. So the glyphs going from bottom left in a clockwise order are a depiction of one day in the game ?

 

In the image below I have added a clock face to the mural. It may mean nothing but I found it interesting that the number 3 on the clock face lines up exactly with the glyph meaning 3 am. The faded glyph at 8 am could be the sun coming up. Does it tend to rain in the game without cheats around 10:00 ? Does something weird happen at 2 am or pm that we need to observe ? Alien abduction ?

 

Coincidence ? What do you guys think ?

Not a bloody clue mate - I don't begin to try and work out what all the thunderbolts mean - possibly not even related to the clock face. Nor the jet pack at 5 am etc. it's just another theory and I wouldn't even have bothered posting apart from the 3 am coincidence. I think the thunderbolts just mean a "storm" and that's about it. I just thought i'd post it as it's as crazy as any any theory we have had since September and it may spur on someone else to make connections. I am by no means saying its fact !

Ignore the red lines they were already on the image I used. They just point to the symbols. Its the clock numbers in relation to "some" of the glyphs I was referring too. It's probably bollox.

well it does storm during the day too like 10 am I supose but as stated above i would guess it's a coincidence although I do see your logic, try to investigate it maybe you found something. I'm saying this because I was trying to make a "story" (pointless I supose) but it seemed like it was a sequence that should happen, like you need to see the ufo and wait and yeah. but that would have been found by now.

Haha that's true. And I'm taking a bit of a gta5 break. I simply cannot bring myself to go through some of the story missions again. I've started vice city again. (Originally to get ideas about where the egg could be, but it's so much more fun than 5 at the moment)
