I wonder why, on the paper map, the wheel is the only element who has a shadown drawn. Just this thing is weird.

This shadow has the same color of the buildings/elements of the map but this is a top view of them.

The representation(in white) of the wheel is a front view.

This shadow is also a top view of the shadow of the wheel ingame at --.--

has anyone tried shining the lights of the docker on walls to see if it shows something that wasnt visible before? or are we just sticking to the cow has the answer theory?

If the Mural is a plan of Mont Chiliad and nothing else. Only 3 locations are linked. the cable car base, directly by the cable, Altruist camp(I tought it could be the sawmill but there's the shadow at AC so, who knows...) and the weed farm. The five square are when the path split and rejoin, 3 on a side, 2 on the other side. Here you are:

And, like a "X" means "Stop", "not this way" and path circumvents them, the three symbols can i.e means cracked head at the weed farm, hikers start at cable car base and something else somewhere else...

For the mural it's just above.

The mystery has been created by us, by our own interpretations.

Epsilon, nothing except a big scam to show to the player how far he is able to go for a price.

Altruist camp, nothing except to show to the player how far he is able to go for a price.

Omega, something except that all the other things hide what we need to do.

Women, something except that all the other things hide what we need to do.

X, Something.

 

I have no particular theory, I play, observ, think.

 

It's not a theory but, as requested, a summary.

And I don't pretend to think that my thoughts are a reflection of any truth.

thanks tirk, im not having a go at you, just that you seem pretty clued up so thought I would ask your opinion:) no one ever seems to discuss what chiliad is actually named after on here but would rather just give the meaning of the word. search deeper, i can not show you as it cant be taught but only understood.

@chiliadas1 We've discussed what Mt. Chiliad is named after several times... Including the last time you asked... It's the game's representation of Mt. Diablo. Chiliad means 1000. What more would you like to discuss?

jesus f*ck, this thread is worse off than the subreddit. I've compiled a list of all the consistent contributors to the forum. These are people that are actually helping to solve the mystery (in my personal opinion)...I'm sure there are others that I've missed, and I apologize ahead of time for it. These people should probably contact each other, outside of the forum or reddit (perhaps email) and work the mystery like that. You guys are getting bogged down by stupid sh*t (obviously)

Just a thought... more or less relevant to recent posts...

If the jetpack is really being slipped in via patches (not via Patches the Clown ghost), then as I feared earlier there may never have been any real mystery for us to solve...

Sorta like post-apocalyptic cavemen trying to make sense of a highway billboard from a long vanished city, we found the mural and tried to figure out what it was meant for... perhaps never realizing it no longer was relevant as its intended purpose was long ago abandoned...

I think at the beginning of the puzzle/hunt/mystery it was a search for a jetpack, UFO and some mystery prize... it was a puzzle to solve for some, and a reason to explore to others and to some perhaps an expression of an inward journey to understand themselves through the action of their video game counterparts...

Since we have never really found any way of confirming progress or requirements beyond the in-game stats and what shows on our Social Club stat board for actual game play, we all just winged it... to be honest... even the craziest ideas are as plausible as the most logical if there is no actual solution... they all become speculation...

Its like me implying treasure is hidden in a large field , I hand out a box of random pictures, music, maps and drawing and tell ten people go out to dig up a treasure... with no real connection or purpose in the "clues", the guy using pure logic is hampered by the fact his clues are nothing more than stuff I had in a box in my garage... he and the guy making random guesses are pretty much on the same level... even if I actually did or did not hide something, only luck will determine if anything will be found, if there is anything to be found.

I think we should all just shake hands and agree we may or may not be right... we may or may not have been conned or misinformed...

Most of us are not all that different here otherwise we would be here... still or just finding this thread... even if this is "Tricks and Cheats" forum, I'll bet 94.3% of those who came here, didn't just come here for the full blown solution to the mural, but more for a direction to head in...

Now...

Maybe the mystery and the mural are whatever we make of them... Who knows maybe for some reason, god knows why, the mystery was broken and Rockstar decided to fix it in pieces...

That would suck, because for all we did, we never even made it out of the gate...

But even if we got nothing out of this...

Well, for whatever its worth... we got a chance to hang out with a bunch of people as crazy, obnoxious, curious and persistent as each of us is individually...

Yeah, I'm sure on the face of it, you probably would have had a better use for those 17,000 hours and countless late night nights...

But at least if you stop and think about it for a minute... look around here... we are not at all that different... (well except for that guy with the hunchback and elephant trunk... he's pretty different)...

And we aught to be happy we all got a chance to share a laugh and bulls**t about something that is not life threatening or world-ending...

Lets not always take this whole thing too seriously...

Lets just have fun with whatever is left of this and see where it ends up...
