I was looking through some of my snapmatic pictures from a while back... and I happened to notice this one I took while cow filming late one night... it was a tuesday which normally I reserve for pig filming, which is why this stuck in my mind...

2055pa1.jpg

If you look closely at the cow (but not too closely or your eyeballs will touch the screen and leave smudges), you will notice that this perfectly normal looking cow, which exhibits absolutely no unusual characteristics at all... (none really)... you'll notice that it is staring oddly at the ground...

I looked at the picture for almost 14 hours straight until it occurred to me what the cow is looking at... I suspect everyone can see it now too...

Of course you all recognize Phil Collins's image in the mud and cow feces (although I admit, they didn't quite capture his smile perfectly)... I am now convinced that due to the high number of shrubs and rocks that resemble Phil Collins that have be distributed liberally throughout the game, that not only is this a nod to Phil Collins appearance in Vice City where he not only played himself as well as a pantomime cow with a cocaine problem, but it is a an important clue for for us to follow...

I listened to the Phil Collins song that plays every 8.1 minutes on Los Santos Rock Radio... If you casually listen to it you might just miss its hidden meaning...

Lets examine the first part of the song:

Well you can tell ev'ryone I'm a dumb disgrace

Drag my cat all over the place.

I don't care anymore.

You can tell ev'rybody 'bout the state I'm in

You won't catch me crying 'cos I just can't win.

I don't care anymore I don't care anymore

I don't care what you say

I don't play the same games you play.

First off we have the word DRAG, which is clearly a references Babylonian king Gungunum who ruled the city state of Larsa dressed as a woman from 1868 BC to 1841 BC... for 27 years... the exact number of socks on display in the Binco on San Andreas ave (STATE- San Andreas), in Mission Row...

The socks all point north in the direction of the mural...

As all of us know, if you visit the mural and stare at it long enough you will eventually start crying (CRYING)... and you will realize that you.... JUST CAN'T WIN at this damn game... or at least it never feels like you did...

And what does Phil Collins say about this? "I don't care anymore I don't care anymore" surely he does, thats not ol' Philly... but he then goes on to say "I don't care what you say" "I don't play the same games you play" which means he doesn't actually care if you play GTA 5 or not... he goes on to state that exactly16 times, the total number of stains on Trevor's underwear.

I believe this means we have to go to the mural at 16:00 hours as Trevor, in his underwear driving the spacedocker with Phil Collins on the radio...

I'm not going to actually try any of this out because I have some really important stuff to do today or something like that... but please let me know how that turns out and if you enjoy the ridable T-Rex that will surely be the prize for solving this puzzle.

There is nothing suspicious about the cow... nothing...

If you have less 16 stains on Trevor's underwear (not counting skid marks), you don't have true 100%... you have to look at your Social Disease Club sub-sub menu for your statistics under Trevor: Stains.

You need all sixteen stains... 10 can come from food or lap dances, but at least 6 have to received from farm animals, pigs and cows are easiest, but chickens or wild boars will also work.

Also if by solutions to the mystery you mean a jetpack or something concrete like that then we would have probably found it already if it was in the game.

If some of us can't agree where the, supposed to be straight forward, directions on the back of the map lead us due to misinterpreting things. How can you say we would of solved the more complex mystery with so many potential misinterpretations?

On the back of the cow map?... You have to glitch inside the cow to read that one, and those directions only say "go away you shouldn't be here"... I believe I may have misinterpreted much of the game already...

That's all I meant also, X seemed to take some offence because I pointed out something that was common knowledge to most. It was the use of the words ""this one isn't really debatable." that made him look foolish.

Sadly this is not a new problem around here: members - with no direct link to Rockstar Games and their creation, may I add - create their theories and start waving them around as "the undebatable truth", getting offended when someone tries to see it from another angle. It happened before a number of times, with the most infamous case being the member called "Brian". It usually ends in endless (hah!) offenses being thrown everywhere with a generous dose of "look at me, I'm special! how can you not notice it?!". Until Rockstar Games steps forward to tell people what IS in the game, what is NOT and what exactly THEY meant... well, all we have are unconfirmed theories from other players. Players/human beings like you and me. So, please, people: let's not fight over something that we aren't really sure of.

razgriz67, that's exactly the point to consider: Rockstar wouldn't create something with so many potential misinterpretations. It would be pointless.

Talking of cows, did y'all know that you can find a herd inner city? I'm not in game at the moment, but it's the area where security van #9 is found, in south east LS, behind the long building where there is a sign saying "flea market on Saturdays". There's a cattle auction yard.

Also a huge red one on the northern highways...

Misinterpreting the situation a bit much. Letting your emotions create a scene that's not happening from my end. you're arguing with yourselves.

Just remember, i didn't say it had to be one or the other meanings, it could be an EE to both meanings. I was the one who was told "No", by someone who isn't affiliated to R*,as you pointed out yourself. I'm not the one claiming to know definitives, i'm just leaving theories and ideas, not shutting others down like some others around here.

Again, if something fits into a common theme that is already represented AND is the most likely first thought of anyone seeing it, then it's probably what it's about. 3 or 4 references to Rocketeer already, no others to "Hollywoodland".

Again, it's awesome that local people would see this as "Hollywoodland" EE and i would agree if there were no Rocketeer references already scattered around but, they are there, so i would have to say IF we had to pick one or the other, then Rocketeer EE.

Why can't it be both though? why say it can't be a Rocketeer EE when it obviously is? Just look at the situation for what it really is.(Yes it's obvious. Show 100 people the other references then ask them if it's what type of EE it is, i would bet most say Rocketeer BUT, this is just my opinion. I absolutely could be wrong)

I'm a pretty open minded guy and listen to others ideas with open ears, why i can't get the same in return, all of my ideas getting shut down because you don't agree with some of my other ideas i have presented earlier... well, you just be hatin. It is what it is.

This cow was the cow that in 1889 set all of the other cows from the slaughter house free because it knew what was happening, the cow was named wallace after his triumpant victory over the cow eaters of the world just like william wallace killed the english this cow was abused as a baby cow and had to fend for itself much like my perspective of trevor so the obvious answer would be goto the slaughter house with trevor and f*ck every cow in sight and double f*ck a cow with wallace branded on his ballocks.

AND THAT IS HOW YOU GET THE JETPACK AS WALLACE WAS STRAPPED TO A JET PACK IN 1892 AND WAS LOST AND FOUND 27 MILES EAST HALF EATIN BY A WHITE BIRD CALLED CROW.

Yeah, but I think the people looking through the game files probably would have found it. Unless R* managed to be exceptionally sly about it.

Clap Trap. "this one isn't really debatable." means you believed 100% that the issue was not debatable and you were obviously correct regards the Rocketeer reference. In a way you ARE correct because it IS NOT debateable that you were wrong. Stop trying to defend your mistake it is making you look more foolish. Just put your hands up and admit you made an error. People would rather you be a man about it than just going on and on trying to defend your words.

But at the same time they can't predict what things will be misinterpreted. They could of very well thought everything was straightforward and self explanatory.

And the directions are an example of this. I've seen 3 different starting points for .5 miles past Raton canyon while R* only saw 1.

@ At everyone who is not sure about the map cow...

Okay... before I start some horrible (but funny) rumor about there being a cow map... No... I just Photoshopped the roads and lettering on the cow... but Phil Collins is real... I actually saw him once and I'm pretty sure he was real.

I did actually crash a car into a cow and then got out and noticed the pelt looked map-like, and then proceeded to spend the next hour and a half examining cows to see if there were actually map cow... In my defense I was drunk at the time and was wearing an eyepatch (every tuesday I like to dress up as a pirate)...

I don't want anyone sorting through the cow herds because of this (watch, there turns out to actually be a real map cow)...

So no, that map cow is not real...

I'm not even real... as a matter of fact I'm composed primarily of low grade polystyrene pellets, recycled beer cans and old chinese newspapers...

On a side note... me1223 was correct, I followed his advice and was able to obtain the jetpack... or backpack... which one is usually filled with soiled boxer shorts? It only seems to help you fly downward and you have to jump off of something very high up, like a blimp, tall building or the head of a giraffe with an extremely long neck... unfortunately you only seem to be able to fly downward and it usually end in a bloody death... but if you press triangle on the PS3 controller the underwear fly out of the pack...

Good times!

you should have specified that on your original post.

It's a really very well done fake, I guess you're affixed a layer on the cow pic. looked really real.

Thank you for that quickly clarification.

There is talk of a mirror in the Tract of the 9th Paradigm Kifflom! There isn't any way to get the dog to anything like that like a Lake which I would assume is a mirror(just an assumption). Much is said of the Lake in the Tract! Gonna look into it a bit and replay the mission's with the dog to try and find a reference point for it.

Kifflom!

Hmm, well I'm not suggesting you literally mirror the dog. I'm suggesting you mirror "doG" and maybe that will give an insight as to it's identity and purpose.

Palindrome would have been a better word than mirror. I see what you mean though. The dog symbolizes the guiding hand of the Lord so to speak. This idea is very interesting as Labradors are usually used as guide dogs for the blind. It seems that this strange dog is more important than the comical Lassie reference.

a palindrome is a word or sentence that is the same backwards as it is forwards. Noon for example.

So no palindrome wouldn't have been a better word to use.
