Further to my discovery of the hidden message ("the writing is on the board") in Michael's kitchen, I looked into the origins of the phrase....

I agree entirely. For him to say "this one isn't really debatable." is complete ignorance. No proper research there just guess work which often steers us on a bad tangent. The simplest answer is usually the correct one, yes? Let's simplify this then.

 

VIEWPOINT: Top of Maze Building, looking North.

 

Here we have the Observatory to the left, the VINEWOOD Sign to the right, and the Lake/Reservoir in the middle.

 

What these things MIGHT represent and things that tie in from in game mentions...

OBSERVATORY: Space/UFO's/Science/Evolution, etc, etc.

VINEWOOD: Rocketeer/Reality TV/Celebrity/Selfishness, etc, etc.

LAKE/RESERVOIR: Egg/Epsilon/Lake of Truth, etc, etc.

 

So we can see that everything is in it's "Correct" spot but, what does it mean, right? Well, one interpretation could be...

 

 

"EAST AND WEST EGG, from The Great Gatsby.

 

One of the most important themes in the novel is class and social standing. It is a barrier for almost every character. East and West Egg acts as a symbol of this in it's physical makeup. Tom and Daisy live on the East which is far more refined and well bred. Nick and Gatsby are on the West which is for people who don't have any real standing, even if they have money. The green light shines from the East Egg enticing Gatsby towards what he has always wanted. And Daisy, the woman that Gatsby has always wanted but never gets, lives on East Egg. The barrier that the water creates between these worlds in symbolic of the barrier that keeps these people apart from one another and from much of what they want."

 

 

I can see the two different types of classes and types of people. VINEWOOD types and Science Types. Being "Famous" get's the attention/recognition/upper class status, while Science doesn't. And the Lake/Water separating the two types of classes/people.

 

Well, that's all i got for now. "Debunkers", have at it, can't wait to hear it get torn down.

 

EDIT: The classes and sides they are on in the Gatsby are the same also. East for people who have money and celebrity, west for people who have money and no celebrity. figured i should add that.

I have been setting up all my save slots so that they are time based(day,moon phase). Such as a monday new moon to test the wow signal or a wednesday with a cresent moon(moon glyph with 3 lines). 3 lines could be wednesday or 3 charachters or 3 am or 3rd quarter moon , idk.

 

Anyway I finally have what I hope is a perfect save point

On a true 100% file with all gold medals on a Sunday with a full moon and every time I load the save it rains throughout the entire night. This is where im stuck. I have been revisiting old poi and ofcourse coming up with nothing. It took me months to put this save together and now I dont know what to do with it lol

 

Its been pretty depressing in here since the jetpack code discovery. It felt like R* way of saying we have wasted the last 7 months searching for something that was never there.

 

just a reminder my files are free to anyone who would like to help if needed.

Agreed. The Jetpack man is obviously a drawing of a jetpack. debate it all you want but, 90% of people see a jetpack, so that's what it is.

 

Crappy thing for them to do, include a "Mystery" seemingly telling us about a jetpack and/or UFO as a reward.

 

If that is not the case then they seriously messed up in conveying what the clues and hints really mean. everything is so up for debate and speculation, if R* meant for there to be solid factual meanings, then they screwed up big time in expressing them.

 

I kind of wish the real troll's would come back, at least for just a visit. boring w/out them around recently.

I can be quite annoying at times...

You see, the jetpack was really in Trevor's head because he was actually the all seeing Walrus, Trevor's head is the easter egg and Franklin is really meant to be a reference to the ancient Sumerian prophet Abzorbornumuz who saw the great dragon Comfyteamat (Tiamat's second cousin) playing checkers with a squirrel in a dream… Abzorbornumuz spread his teachings across the Mesopotamian region using an Akkadian clay ointment vessel modified into a primitive jetpack, Rockstar obviously knew of this and saw it's relevance to modern greed and material decadence and placed this message in the game to help free our minds and make us better people…

wait thats it ! the first 3 letters of phil .. PHI we must find phil collins haha j/k but that mention of phil reminded me of vice city stories which was an awesome f*ckin game imo. There was no crappy mysteries just a great gta game. R* has lost its touch.

 

Just makes me think all the other gta games had an ending, 100% was definative. When you beat the game you beat it, you finished it finally you felt like you accomplished something. You and your charachter survived all the sh*t and you made it!

 

This just feels like a good movie that leaves you hangin in the end so they could make more money doing a dam sequel. Ya know your just like wtf ?

to the right, looks kind of like a ufo exiting a building.

 

anyway, this can all be found in the mile high club construction site, on the floor where the tallest crane exits the lower portion of the building.

also, that allegedly pointless fib blueprint is littered all over this floor.

I don't mean to take sides X (don't hate me, heh!), but the original Hollywoodland version is fairly well known around the world. It's been in countless period movies, video games, and is in general a well known piece of movie-buff history.

 

I can totally respect that you didn't know about it, but I honestly don't think the picture is a Rocketeer reference. There's without a doubt several other Rocketeer references in the game, I just don't think this is one of them at all. It's just a well known part of Los Angeles' history, and therefore a part of Los Santos' and a nice little easter egg of it's own.

Okay, I remember in the past, people making mention of Rocketeer references in the game... real or hallucinated (or misinterpreted)... is what you are suggesting (The X-meister that is), is that what we should be looking for is a retro 30s art deco steampunkish jetpack... and that the route to the solution is more through the movie studios, than the FIB/Fort Zancudo/Yoga/Altruists Cult/Shapes-and-shadow-in-the-desert-rocks/bigfoot-sex-on-the-spacedocker-at-3am route that all the kids are raving about these days?

Or are you suggesting something else like easter eggs, movie references or something?

If you don't have time to go there it basically says-

I would have liked for the jetpack to be found by that route... makes for a deeper more unexpected story with a richer history... especially where it could tie in with it being held by some secret illuminutty (American Dad reference) type organization...

But I'm past the days of imagining great things for this "puzzle", with what appears to have been found in the recent patch, it sorta squashes all hope I had...

Not sure if this was already seen but I'm new so:

I was watching GTA V: Damned+Abandoned Myths: Episode 7 Humane Labs and I noticed some bizarre things not listed in the video nor the comments. I saw that 2:18 and at 6:09 that there are blue signs that state -1. Now if you recall -1 from the Ft. Zancudo's secret bunker/elevator, this -1 is somehow here. Also, there's an elevator at 5:25 and it had -2 on it. If you look on a GTA V map, you can see that a horizontal-ish line can run through both the facility and military base.
