Stealing Lazers ist bullsh*t

I am the only one who thinks that stealing a Lazer from the Fort Zalubullsh*t is nearly impossible? I tried it 1 minute ago, followed the tips that I should fly near the ground to avoid missiles, but it didn't work. I was immediately followed by 3 (!) Lazers, I managed to avoid one missile which done a beep in my cockpit, but then another invidsible missile destroyed me. No beep, and I was looking back and don't see a f*cking missile! All I see was 3 NPC Lazers which followed me.

 

It's bullsh*t, and has nothing to do with skill to steal a Jet, only luck..

Tbh.. pull an Immelmann shortly after takeoff and you're usually out no problem...

If you're on Xbox when flying away and a missile is chasing you, hold LB and press your left anologue to the left. You will dodge a missile every time.

 

Either way, stealing a jet is such an easy thing to do.

 

 

 

EDIT: Also it has nothing to do with luck. If you're skilled at flying you can make it.

As i usually say: Get in a jet near the runway -> do a u-turn while on the ground -> Take off across the runway -> skim the fence and stay low till you're near the mountains -> destroy all humanity.

If you really want one, you will get one. Its really not so hard if your flying skills are up to a certain level. Sometimes I don't even get chased, other times require a few rolls here and there but my own personal success rate is prob about 8 in 10 maybe 7 in 10. I also find it way harder (although more fun) when you are with friends as the security is insane with multiple players about.

Also the jets taxiing round to the runway are stupid easy to take, never failed with one of those for some reason, just seem easier, and the animation of draggin out the pilot is awesome.

I found it difficult the first time. Now I'm amazed at how people fail over and over, but then I'm pretty good in a jet. Maybe Skreamies is right, it depends on your skill.

I've done the Zancudo Tunnel....awesome feeling when you do it 3 times in a row without touching the walls.

 

@Killer - When it's a low level guy, you know it's going to end badly but it's still hilarious to see them crash into a tree or mountain when they take off.

It's been harder for me since patch 1.09

It used to be EASY and now I can only get away with 1in3 sometimes less.

The best way is get one parked in the second bay facing the hangers. The 1st one usually has one guy next to it.

 

Get in and take of quickly putting your wheels in and going virtually up.

 

Once the 1st missile misses you, loop over yourself and head for the city, don't look back. Usually, no jets well come after you and you should loose the cops before you reach LS international.

Even at a higher level some of the screw ups can be hilarious... I got clipped by a missile after taking off when attempting it with a crew member.. just as I was pulling up vertically in a maneouvre..

 

My dead corpse then somehow managed to fly the plane in a loop the loop before inverting and nosediving into the ground.. all at low level.. Would've been a great video moment..

 

 

oh and one way I've found quite effective when solo is to get a buzzard, fly in low to the take-off end of the runway, let the security come to you.. cause carnage then fly fast to the other quieter end, clear that then jump in a jet..

 

but... this depends on tanks not spawning.. if they do.. well, you know the rest...

i get one 7-8 times out of 10 and my method is:

 

grab either of the two jet at very east of the military base (preferably the northen one, but sometimes isnt possible because of tanks)

fly directly straight and low, over the mountain, call lester (while moving around to avoid those random hyper-speed missiles) and "remove wanted level".

 

the only times i dont get one is because i fail to dodge the hyperspeed missiles or i get killed by like 300 tanks

But why I cant hear the missiles? Its easy to dodge them when you hear the lock-on sound, but on NPC Lazers you don't hear it.

@ Doktor - Oh nice haha, i haven't been able to perform the ghost flight so that would've been good to see.

 

Getting on the tower and watching people f*ck up may just be something i'll have to try

 

Missiles are usually only fired at me once, then it's just the cannons you have to watch out for - instant death.

If you hear nothing and you die straight off the bat, the cannons picked you up i'd say..

There's no avoiding this certain death, if they can get you they will..even if they're not facing you or you've blown them up

I didn't tell you this - use a playlist to get to the location quicker.. Not an instant jet, but saves f*cking about.

And if you can't get a buzzard but you have a heap of troops there, just cruise around in your car till they start following you. Once you start to see the dots drop, move in at that point.

The problem with that would be tanks camping the Pegasus spawn points. It's much harder to prevent well informed players from stealing a jet.

there is a lot of luck involved, I used to find it really easy if there were no tanks. Now they have nerfed the rudders, sharp turns are slower than they used to be, I remember when I was turning left as fast as possible to avoid the jet npc missile and he still got me. Npcs tend to crash into you now rather than just look at you now so driving to the edge to avoid missiles isn't very viable now. Lag can make it almost impossible to avoid the missiles from zancudo, sometimes I avoid them fine and the next day I do everything exactly the same and they hit me every time. My tactics are if there are tanks go to jet nearest the east entrance and fly straight up and lean forward just as you hear the last few beeps. If theres no tanks then go to the jet in the hangar and fly low until you clear the fence. If you find the jet just about to take off shoot him and take that one if there are no npcs nearby.

Actually, it really is just all you mate. I've never ever had even so much as a remote fuss when going to get a Lazer; and as I've said before, I've NEVER gotten a single missile fired at me. Even used to go and steal the Titans from Fort Zancudo back before I was level 20, and anyone knew that the Titan could actually spawn naturally.

 

Stole 'em and parked 'em anywhere we could, lol.

I managed to steal a Jet now, i picked the one in the hangar, and directly fly 90° in the sky. No Lazers in sight. I don't know if it was only this time, or will work again.
