GTAO: a condensed history (Is R* Abandoning GTAO?)

I feel like this has become a discussion of whether R* is abandoning GTA V, or it is interpreted as such at least. I want to reiterate what I said earlier in the thread...

 

R* has a great revenue stream in GTA V, but due to the myriads of issues with GTAO maybe they are stopping future production on GTAO (not gta v) .Other than already in development DLC.

You're an idiot, we were told that they would be continually creating new content for us to "enjoy". The game earned them billions, what have we had? A potato gun, broken bottle and some sh*t vehicles and clothes.

They fixed the cash glitches, so they are done with GTA0 updates and "maintenance." Except, if TTWO stock falls below $12, an algorithm kicks in to linearly reduce the payouts over time, and to add exponential inflation to all prices.

Fact: OP (or anyone else for that matter) has no idea what Rockstar are doing/planning so trying to make assumptions and saying thing like "They've likely stopped working on it" is naive and pointless.

 

They're assuming those based on what they experienced of the behavior so far. These assumptions become a topic for a discussion and that's basically this thread is.

 

 

what behaviour ? you mean confirming heists are on their way, along with new story mode stuff, after spending serious time fixing the tuneables stuff and giving us beach bum DLC ?

How does that equate to Rockstar stopping working on the game ? If anything it would indicate the exact opposite

Fast, cheap, good - pick any two. They received lots of criticisms for the bugs/possible exploits - so what if they are testing heists/DLC extensively to iron out any bugs ? are you still going to complain ?

In any case how do you know what the rate of development on GTA is ? unless you've actually developed games for consoles you have no idea how complicated it is.

And maybe they are putting even more effort in to GTAO to make it even bigger and better than it is now ?

 

No-one on this forum has the slightest clue, including both of us. Its just pointless speculation.

Stupid title and topic, they just banned some hackers and dns users, wiped money, fixed some important glitches. How can they give up now? They have to release some contents, especially heists.

So if they have gave up on gta.o, what are they gonna concentrate their efforts on now? There is no news or rumours of a future game, ie gta 6. No news of their sister companies making new games for next gen consoles etc.

Disagree, there is still next gen version of GTAV, which means a revive of gta online later. Since there is a record low of people playing online now, (guess), they want to fix as many glitches as possible before the online and GTAV release on next gen, which would make sense, to have a mainly bug free next gen online. They might bring out heists before next gen but all DLC after heist will probably be on next gen. Just a slow, transfer over from gen to next gen, while there aren't as many people and they can fix glitches.

 

 

What makes you think there will be a next gen version? Not trying to be a dick but your stretching pretty far saying that when there is absolutely no evidence or statements from R* saying so.

 

In my opinion, the game is done. Any other content that comes out will most likly be bugged as the rest of game is now. Beach bum added new glitches, Capture mode added new glitches, and almost with EVERY patch that has been released new exploits come up.
