But that's their modus operandi and we really should be used to it..

I mean, how much did they actually reveal about GTA V during its development?? It was like Chinese whispers for a very long time..

Heck I even remember GTA IV's development being pretty tight lipped and only one screen shot going around for a while (about the time of the PS3 launch)...

all that proves is that dlc wasn't made before the games release. Or do you like day 1 dlc?

Some very well put and valid points from both sides of the fence here. Its all speculation though. Untill we hear from R* no-one knows what they will do. Im hoping they do continue support, offer DLC and the like. My worry is they would put it into the too hard basket, patch what we have and jump onto the next big thing. From what I hear they have well and truly made their money back. They will still sell copies and cash cards so it will still be a revenue raiser for them. Why not move onto the next big thing? They will make money from that too.

I agree with everyone saying they should be interacting with the community o/ It really pisses me off the way they don't say ANYTHING or even bother with the community. It would give forums better things to discuss, and hope to the gamer.

Because if you've got any form of business strategy you're going to be looking to expand your customer base and launching major DLC brings the brand back into the press and allows for advertising etc, suckering in more consumers and more people to sell cash cards to.. more so than without DLC/advertising..

True, but i think a lot of people aren't used to this and see their silence as a "f*ck you" instead of giving them the chance to release decent stuff.

Just wait until GTA Vi: Vice City. Maybe they'll make it or are making it but you'll see ...

Fact: OP (or anyone else for that matter) has no idea what Rockstar are doing/planning so trying to make assumptions and saying thing like "They've likely stopped working on it" is naive and pointless.

relax, speculation is fun, besides, R* monitors this forum for gossip all the time :)

They're assuming those based on what they experienced of the behavior so far. These assumptions become a topic for a discussion and that's basically this thread is.

Ballistic Jello

If they just informed us of the stuff currently under way everyone's fears would be eased greatly.

Unless.....

Was that to me? If so, read it properly...

BTW, don't call people thick if you can't assemble words correctly.

There is still a PC market to dip into, and I know of a couple people already that are just waiting for it to come out. I think that it is way too damn early to call it quits.

LOL...

Still fun

Still groundbreaking

Still relevant

It's still being played daily.

People playing it can just keep playing it without finding a new game.

And as far as the hooker comment goes, I think you are forgetting that GTA is the pimp, and you are the whore.

Correction, You are worn out...Since you're the whore, remember?

any serious content updates have taken a long while

longer than many of us expected and I'm willing to bet a lot longer than R* originally planned

but to me it seems unlikely that they have completly abandoned the game

what with their 5 year plan and everything

and the content they have allready put a lot of time and money into waiting to be released

or do you think they only started making DLC after online was launched?

all the "leaked" info people found in the game files proves there's a lot of content in varying states of completion waiting to be implemented

waiting on what though

any1's geuss really but I think it's safe to say the whole DNS/hacked money fiasco has thrown up a few bumps for R* to smooth out first

Too little too late, it's their own fault. Their rate of development and the rate at which they fix bugs and glitches is appalling.

Oh no, it's been about a month and a half since Rockstar added missions to online, and a couple of weeks since they cleaned up the modded money situation! The sky is falling! The sky is falling! :panic:

I think they will continue to improve it at least until they release their next game, but probably for longer. But at least as long as GTA is their "current" game, it's very much against their interest to let it go to sh*t. It's very bad for their reputation if they produce a game that has never worked properly.

I can't speak for XBox but PS3 lobbies I play in are always full. It's still the number one downloaded game on PSN.

It's the same for Xbox.

On the topic of DLC, I understand it could take a while too produce brand new content, but what about all the things that are already in SP? I was hoping that a few months after launch, the online would have most of the sandbox elements and activities from SP added in. Even small things like the protag's clothing options or the interiors of buildings would be appreciated.

I agree it's unrealistic to expect all new content so frequently, but there's plenty of things already present that could be added. But seeing that they haven't done that yet makes me nervous.

they'll never add those things

the body types in MP in are very different than those in SP

judging from the credits they were made by 2 completely diffferent teams.

they have a bunch of content waiting to go like heists and all the other stuff people uncovered in some of the game files

it's not like they released the game and only than started working on DLC

I tend to disagree as well. For the reason that even at this point the game has come a long way. Not only that but the game hasn't even been out 6 months so when they release any big content whether it be for story mode or online, people WILL come back. Not even people who are broke with low levels will be kept from gaining some type of incentive to play to get there, I guarantee it. If anyone has already sold their game because of said incident then they've been spoiled by shooter games for too long that come out with mediocre contents via "map packs".

If they have abandoned the game's further development then that would be a truly sad story.. But I highly doubt it. Here's why:

BRAND NEW DLC PACK Available!!

5 new Aircrafts

10 Sports cars

5 New weapons

200 pieces of clothing

$19.99

Yes I would buy this and yes so would everyone else.. Now if I can think of something that simple, I'm pretty sure the creative/marketing department have thought about it as well..

"Body types" are keeping us from wearing the same shoes/hats as Franklin? I doubt that.

And how are you so sure they have content waiting to go? Game files can only tell so much. The casino audio stuff came out months ago and we haven't seen any of it yet, so it'd be wrong to assume that it or anything else is ready.

At the end of the day, none of us really know what is going to happen, so we shouldn't pretend otherwise.

They're not totally different, though (for men). I think that all the pants are exactly the same as the ones given to Franklin in SP. All the leather jackets are the same design (if not the same model) of Trevor's, just with a space where the t-shirt was.
