I wholeheartedly apologise if this shoulda-been/was already posted in video topic, but this video went viral all over the world within moments of release so I think this merits it's own topic.

I saw that the other night. It was pretty funny.

You know, for a country that flips sh*t whenever video games get violent or porn gets crazy, they've got some crazy shows.

It's funny how Americans think Australia is all about kangaroos, the outback and cork hats but really this is what It's like :p

For those who are unaware, this is a joke about the fact that every second advert on Aussie TV is an overly dramatic PSA.

I know I brought this up in an above post, but I never got as to why a country so strict on games and internet content seems so lax about the amount of violence shown on television, let alone a commercial between shows.

The Australian population in general doesn't go through huge moral panics whenever a violent games comes out. It's just that we previously had no adults only rating for video games because once upon a time games were pixelated and aimed at kids. Nobody was too fussed about changing it, and stores refuse to sell unclassified games (it's not that they were banned). We've recently succeeded in getting an adults only classification, so the "R" rated GTAV is on shelves. Saints Row was refused classification, and while this isn't kosher, stopping the sale of a game where you blast people with a dubstep gun and whack them into orbit with a huge purple cock isn't enough to end any civil servant's career.

I don't know what you mean by "internet content."

Evidently they outlaw lots of porn. I could be wrong though, I just skimmed through some articles

As an Australian, I can confirm we have landmines on our beaches.

Wow I was unaware of that. Good job I never plan on going to Australia I guess.

I would jump over the old Berlin Wall and its mine lands and barbed wire if necessary just to skip a class. Nothing can't stop a good slacker of taking a day off.

Yeah, let's keep all the videos to the video topic please. Despite your suggestion otherwise, this topic doesn't deserve it's own thread.
