I am really getting tired of the same bs every day. The entity reverse pussies, the tank pussies, the sticky bomb pussies... I really think that all the "nice people" in this game just left for invite only. I'm about to do the same.

I roll in an invite only now. I can put up wth the constant threat of death but there are just too many wannabe hackers on the go. I just feel the less time I'm playing with other randoms the better at the moment.

I will start of in invite only. Sell a baller or felon, get a car for Simoeon ect. Then I will go around and do some missions/races ect. Only if I get bored of that will I enter free roam for a bit of chaos. Mostly in job lobbies myself.

I'm slowly leaning towards it.. It's nice to have others in the lobby, but we all know how quick it can turn to sh*t.

I'm not sure how to vote here... I spend a lot of time in invite only lobbies, but also go public a lot too. Probably about 50/50.

 

It really depends on what I'm doing. If I just have an hour or so and want to sell a Baller and run some missions for money, I'll go invite only. If I've got a whole evening to kill (pun intended), I'll go public. I don't mind getting killed, if it gets too squirrely I'll just leave. To be honest, I've had a few good nights in a row in public sessions. Just lucky I guess.

For me it is the opposite. I've always played in invite only servers because I knew about the public bs. But lately I've been trying to get exposure for my races and death matches so I've been joining public lobbies, loading up jobs and inviting randoms. Job finished, switch lobbies, start another job, rinse, repeat as necessary.

Things have seemed kinda dead lately. Not exactly a bad thing though. Joined in a lobby with three other crew members and the only other people was a crew of 3. The battle raged from Vespucci to Zancudo. Ended up doing a playlist with them and gained some friends. It's nice meeting respectful people in this game.

You're not really missing out too much being in an invite only by yourself. Just use the quick job option on the phone for any missions and the like. Simeon cars are a doddle and surviving a bounty is guaranteed free money.

Basically, anyone the OP can't shoot is a pussy... Amazing how I have no problem killing any of these players. If you want to play on foot, I suggest finding a deathmatch.

I never give up on it. I mean, I can't find friends otherwise. Peeps in this forum are psychos. My random friends are cool.

OP, when I play, I exclusively play in public lobbies, only time I stopped was during the DNS hax that allowed instant bad sport reports, but that lasted only a few days.

Lately however, I've noticed lobbies are less and less occupied, often there is only one or three players in the session. I usually have to roll about ten lobbies to get a semi full lobby, it doesn't matter if I choose traditional GTA aim, assisted aim, or free aim. This is also true if I use my main character or my low level alt. I'm not sure if this is caused by people in general as you said avoiding public lobbies but I suspect there is a correlation.

I feared this would eventually happen as the environment of public lobbies continues to become more and more toxic for the casual average player. Same thing happened in GTA IV Multiplayer, but that was after a couple of years, this game seems like it's happening too soon. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted I suppose.

I did notice this too in the last few days. I went through about 10 lobbies today (ps3 btw) every one had 5-6 players.

"Assholes" make part of the game fun but also destroy other parts. If I just wanna sell a stolen car or do a simeon HPV job ill go to a invite only session. If I want to interact and shoot stuff ill go a public FR. I will agree if I didnt have an option to go into a lobby full of other players it would be very boring at times but having that option of a bit of peace and quiet to do your thing is a good thing.

Most definitely that's why I said to each his own. I personally just can't imagine ever playing Online completely alone and that's not because I'm simply some jackass who gets off at making people mad and blowing sh*t up every 5 seconds, I just much prefer chaos over peace, it just makes so much more sense on a game like this. I agree though when you're trying to deliver a car for Simeon it can get annoying but whenever I see anybody within a 100-150 yard radius I'll always hop out of the car and snipe the person or take a minigun to his ass before they can get close enough.

Invite only here as well, and if , and I mean if I get bored of invite only, I will go into free mode just for a few minutes, and thats about all I will stay

If you don't want to get shot, use passive mode. I never target players in passive mode. Everyone else is assumed to be hostile. Players didn't ruin online by playing the game the way it was designed. Your own expectations ruined it for you alone. That's a personal problem that you need to deal with on your own, I guess by playing alone.

If you happen to run into a player who is determined to stalk you, set up a few playlists to teleport to a different location. You basically have to make a choice if you want to play in a public lobby... Fight or flight. Should be instinctive.

You need to learn the passive mode limitations. Passive does not mean invulnerable.

I play public mostly depending on the night. I'll go in and watch the action on the pop up if its x killed x 10 times I'll say f$&k it and take my chances and do a high speed run to LSC to do some business. The maybe I'll jump in a plane and fly up north and grab another plane or steal a jet and just carpet bomb the kill fest in the city. I've met quite a few friends just pulling up and not getting killed or killing on site.

I've noticed the lobbies being light sometimes but I stick around and with in a few minutes they fill right up and sometimes they empty out. Depends on the time of day and day of week I guess.

If I'm just searching for certain cars I'll do invite only then switch sessions. Paleto Bay is cool cause all the same cars spawn up there, all the shopping, and nobody bothers you.
