Okay, so I've noticed many people bringing up topics about bringing their A-game to the community of Los Santos.

 

In a way, I mean showing little sportsmanship in your approach to the other players. I don't mean, killing someone 5 times over for killing you once; I mean, killing someone for no reason whatsoever, destroying someone in a tank for no reason whatsoever, waiting outside stores and LSC to kill someone for no reason whatsoever.

 

There is nothing that annoys me more, than little pathetic techniques to kill someone. Where's your dignity? Where's your self respect? Wheres your sportsmanship!

 

Being a gentleman in this game doesn't mean being walked all over; it means letting others suffer the consequences for the actions they have taken on you. If you kill someone multiple times for Deathmatching you on free-roam and not accepting your 1v1 deathmatch, fine by me, you've done nothing wrong except give him a taste of his own medicine.

 

Those who have the perk of showing sportsmanship against other players, I salute you. You are the reason GTA is great. You guys who wait for someone to spawn to kill them with a tank, or wait outside a store for an easy kill; you are the reason GTA is in decline. Nobody likes assholes. Not even gay people.

 

TL;DR: Don't be an asshole, be someone who is respectful to those who are respectful to you. That shoot first, ask questions later sh*t is the gayest.

Agreed, but just be ready for all the asshat "if you don't want all that, go invite only" or "this is GTA, deal with it" comments and flames.

The nicer I am to people, the more others take advantage of it. However I don't sink that low.

 

The only thing I really do that may not be very nice, is blowing up Chrome Adders/Entitys. I see the white dots coming to me, then look around and see the shinny piles of crap come in my direction...I can't help but think they are up to no good. Then for the next half hour+ they will constantly come after me.

 

Just like these guys that we TDM with...we all spawned after words and they turned it into a firefight in free mode. I go around the corner and they ALL had Chrome Adders parked together. Sorry, I see a trend.

When I get online, I often will just tool around in my chrome Blista Compact, minding my own business.
That is until, for no reason, I'm chased, bombed, shot at, attacked, whatever.

It's after those moments, whether I'm killed or I outrun my assailant, that I fetch a tank, Buzzard, Lazer, or even my Entity and just kill any player within my radius.
I will seek out slow moving blips. I will perch atop domains lofty & high and use my Heavy Sniper to collapse anyone unsuspecting. I show absolutely no mercy.

And if I am killed in return-fire? Then so be it.

This is Grand Theft Auto 5... this is not Gentleman's Quarterly Winter 2014. It's been this way since 1999 when GTA2 was released.
I'm not about to change the way I play because someone doesn't think it's "nice."

I ain't nice to no-one 'cos chances are they ain't gonna be nice to me. It's kill or be killed in LS.

 

I mean you can pretend to be Ghandi in GTA but you're still a white dot on my mini-map and still a volitile threat as far as I am concerned. Come near me and I'll shoot. I go to great lengths in the few times I venture into public free-roam to avoid other players so if someone is near me they are most likely upto something that will be to the detriment of my characters health and life expectancy.

 

With an avatar like that I have to ask where's your dignity and self respect?

Okay, just got offline from playing 10 minutes ago. I thought of this thread.

I'm minding my business, driving my Mammantus (yes, an airplane) down the street toward my Tinsel apartment, when from behind comes a screaming level 19 in an Adder.
He drives past me, but sees that I'm driving an unusual vehicle down the street, so he turns around and decides to start ramming me.

First, he drives under me and keeps going. Okay, fine. But then, he comes back and cracks into the side.
Smoke plumes.

Finally, he comes back a third time and drives under me again.
He gets out just as I'm getting out and he shoots me and blows my plane up.

I sent him a message saying, "U didn't hav 2 do that. U couldve got in w/ me. 2 Bad."
He sends a message back, "wah noob!"

 

I'm a level 92. He's level 19. <sigh>

I waited patiently for about 20 minutes, doing other things, and eventually went to my tv in my apt.
Saw he was still out there, driving toward airport.

I called Lamar and sent a mugger.

Now, here's the "too - far - fetched - to - be - true - but - I - swear - it - is" end to the story:

Right when he gets into a helicopter to take off, my mugger runs up and pulls him out of the copter and then STEALS the copter away from him.
I was laughing and uttering, "YES! YES! YES!!!"

I sent him another message saying, "Did some1 steal ur wings? Aww. Payback bb."
The next message to pop up was that he'd left.

TL;DR So, see? If you mind your business and try to do anything different in this game, people act like toolbags.
...........Pardon me for saying it, but your concept of "gentlemanly respect" is bunk.

I re-learned that tonight.

I have to agree with this. I understand the frustrations of wanting to play nicely with others but you cannot expect everyone who jumps public lobby to think and play the same way as you. I personally try to play nice to but I also have the awareness that every white dot is a possible likely threat. Tread with caution. I guarantee you also there are people out there that enjoy that aspect of the game. What right do you have to stop someone having fun their own way. There are no rules here in LSC. All is fair game. Understand this and adjust accordingly. Alternatively fill your friends list with like minded players and only play with them if its too much.

When I pick a fight, I have the common courtesy to place a 1k bounty on my target. I usually start with the highest rank in the lobby and work my way down. Other circumstances will cause me to divert from this peacekeeping mission, such as being assaulted by a random. If I feel someone needs to face the hand of justice, I will make that my new primary objective. The bounty system is not so black and white though. I have been know to attack some players at random for the simple reason that they crossed my path, but this is San Andreas, so they should have know what was coming. I have also been know to leave certain targets alone simply because there is no honor is fighting with too much advantage. Play style in freemode is all a matter of preference, so expect everything. The only things that irritate me are the players abusing exploits for stupid reasons such as sitting in a wall with a bounty or constant respawn glitching. That's just annoying.

Dunno who the hell you guys have been playing with, but most of my GTA friends are randoms, not you forumers. Only a few are from this forum because you guys are more psychotic than peeps I find on my first lobby.

Thing i hate the most is when you may want to visit a shop quickly only to have someone blow up ya car while shopping. Thats totally wrong in my book.

I am so sick of everyone thinking this game is cod. GTA is a great game, but when everyone is killing each other, it just gets so boring.
