Slipstream. Nos is a cool idea but its not really needed in freemode. I'd rather see more body customization options for cars than something like nos. Hydraulics anyone?

Nitrous ala Midnight Club would be way better than the crazy slipstream we have now. It was two or three canisters that gave you a massive burst of speed and wouldn't refill until you visited a garage. That would make races way more tactical I feel.

Only if they remove catchup though. Don't get me wrong I love ketchup but unless winning distributes french fries I dun want any.

Why not?

Imagine you have a bounty, speeding on the freeway and there is someone catching up with you, but then you hit that button.

There problably are more ways to have fun with nitrous in free mode.

In races i would rather have nitrous wich wont replenish, so you have to use it wisely.

Im no racer, but i got the feeling you gain a LOT of speed using slipstreams, so id rather not see it at all.

NOS with a 1 minute cool down per use... And a 1 minute build up prior to use to avoid early NOS use.

Slip stream is broken and doesn't work correctly.

Bring in NOS sure (I mean it's coded even, the boosts in GTA Races) but tone down Slipstream dramatically.

Both, altho boost in gta races give the same effect, hence my drag race playlist

I would go with NOS if it was limited. I would say slipstream would be fine, but it needs a nerf or at least the option to turn it down/off. In a serious race it is just retarded.

Why is it reatarded? It exists in real life just as much as NOS does!
Yes, in the game its a bit more exaggerated, but NOS usually is too

It is retarded because of how much effect it does. It will make you lose control and such. It is far beyond anything in real life. You basically answered what you asked in the same post.

Id rather be able to control my speed boost instead of it working incorrectly.

Slip stream always causes me to gain and loose speed at the worst times. Nothing is funnier then getting a slip stream on someone around 2 corners. I simply don't want it if thats the case.

I need slip stream when im right behind someone.. And the funny thing is thats when it never works.

Nos, for sure.

Slipstream, because it requires more skill to make use of it.

Anyone can press a button to gain speed

Slipstream doesn't require any real skill, you just sit behind someone knowing that at any point you could use the slipstream to overtake and win the race. That's not skillful and it's especially bad with catch-up on.

With Nos you'd have your usage and that would be it. You'd have to use it tactically as it would be finite.

It might also be nice to have a 'collisions off' option so your race isn't f*cked from the start when some moron takes himself and you off the track.

Im gonna have to disagree. 99% of the races i race are not simple straight races which allow for such an easy 'slipstream' pass to be made.

Infact the real skill of slip stream comes from being able to maintain a nice race speed/control behind players while it continues to turn on and off. It constantly effects your speed which in turn effects how you drive and can cause wipes and crashes.

Of course if you are one of those players who love using slip stream as a ramming offensive.. I could see it being very usefull. But i try to race clean, so that becomes more of pain in the ass for me.

Which is why id rather have nos. That way, when i see my chance for a nice clean pass i can use it. Instead of fighting slip stream while behind players.

I think to be fair you are both correct. I find slipstream only helps people that like to ram or in really long straight aways. I will wait till the last stretch sometimes to pass using the slipstream and win. It is easy as pie. No matter how you slice it...it is cheap. Cheap if you are trying to race clean. If not it makes it real easy to wreck someones day.

FasterThanYou

Any of them wouldn´t hurt if implemented correctly. Both of them would be absolutely sh*t if implemented poorly (I´m looking at you, slipstream).

- A slipstream working properly (only at high speed, with the right ammount of extra speed, with the correct range) would be nice.

- A NOS working properly (not a silly arcade NOS that puts you at top speed inmediately) would do well. The ammount of speed and acceleration boost could be similar to the current slipstream. Limited use per lap, let´s say 5 seconds. Used for overtaking or extra speed into the main straights when driving alone.

i think it was NFSU1 that had a system where the NOS wasnt a 1 button 1 shot thing and instead holding it down would apply the boost until you ran out. if anything i would want it like that, still would prefer neither though

Don't care either way. I just use what I have in game and adapt. I can't expect auto aim in the battlefield series. So I figure out how to be successful within the game I'm playing.
