Th3MaN1
Let's analyze one thing. So the PS4 is selling well now, yes no denying that. But aren't you forgetting about the PS3? It had a bad start but it picked up eventually but that did not mean that the 360 was the future of gaming. The difference this time is that both consoles came out at the same time. And the PS4 is more powerful, $100 cheaper and didn't have all the negative press surrounding it. Quite the opposite. It had a stellar marketing. And historically it has better exclusive titles. And by the looks of it, that won't change any time soon. Unless Microsoft gives people what they want, which is an Xbone without the Kinect, it will never beat the PS4. Actually the PS4 isn't $100 cheaper. Atleast in other countries, in Brazil it is like $1000 and in India $700 which i pretty kinda expensive. Either-way I still think we should wait until next year to really decide which is better when the games start releasing for both consoles and MS might release a new, tweaked XB1 model if that doesn't happen and the XB1's exclusives turn out to be flops, then at that point, we can say that the PS4 is the best console of this generation. Actually, in Brazil it's $1800, f*cking outrageous.

Hey did I say you in particular were blaming Sony? Some people sound like they are blaming it on Sony for no apparent reason. And seriously, don't play the "Sony pays you" card, it doesn't work that way. I could say "Microsoft pays you" to defend them all the time, even when they f*ck their customers over. And yeah, I agree with the fact that they still develop games for older gen at a cheaper price.
rubix99
Third party games are already turning out better on PS4. This Tomb Raider case is just a taste of things to come. With Sony now having to INCREASE their sale predictions for PS4......developers will now be making all multiplatform games specifically for PS4, with Xbox One getting inferior versions due to lack of developer attention. Its basically 360/PS3 scenario now reversed.
rubix99
Xbox One and Wii U continue to be beneath heel again in total global hardware sales. Also notice that the sale gap between PS4 and Xbox One in America widened considereably compared to the week before. Xbox One was beneath heel by over 10,000 units sold in the states. And even worse by over 40,000 units sold in Europe. Heres how the latest global (lifetime) hardware sales are looking now as of Jaunuary 25th 2014. rubix99
It should also be noted that the Playstation 4 goes on sale in Japan in 2 weeks from today. 22nd February 2014. To give an example of how Sony completely tower above Microsoft in Japan here are the hardware sales of the 360 and PS3 in the week of 25th January 2014. PS3 sold 13,619 units in Japan. Xbox 360 sold 321 units in Japan. The Xbox One has still not got an official release date in Japan. In just a few more weeks.....the Xbox One will be even more beneath heel in total global hardware sales.
Detective Phelps
Why does America embrace XB1 more than Europeans? Because Microsoft are an American company, they market their product there much more than in Europe, they know they can easily fool the people over there. Nobody here likes the Xbox One, except for little children and fratbros. Only reason I would buy it is for Halo. I don't agree with that. You can even see that XB1 is doing better in America in general than the PS4 That's only because some Americans prefer American companies and their products, instead of "foreign" ones, despite the fact that the Xbone is made in China. MS will always have an advantage on their home turf, just like how Sony have an advantage in Japan.

Yes, but the Xbone will still sell well in America, unlike in Europe and Asia. I'm happy that the PS4 is doing so well. As for the Wii U, well, without third party support (which it won't get, even Ubisoft is making less games for it), it is doomed.

chainsoar
My favourite part of this thread is people thinking the first few weeks of console sales give any indication of their lifespan. Someone already correctly pointed out that the PS3 sold like sh*t at first, but it didn't die, did it? Companies like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, etc always make a loss on consoles. They're expensive to manufacture and in order to recoup those losses on sales the price would have to be astronomical to safeguard against the chance of low sales figures. They make their money back later on game exclusives, online content, and so on.

Blame the Government for that, for making everything so damn expensive. But I feel for brazilians. Brazil is the 6th richest country in the world, what "economic situation" are you talking about? And "blame the government"? Why for? When the taxes are correctly applied on the product it does not reach 1900 USD, it is clear to me that $ony made it cost that much because they're money gobblers. Anyway, I would much prefer to buy a Wii U out of the three giants, it already has a big library of fun games to play. rubix99
Another bad week for Microsoft as the Xbox One is now even further beneath heel in their home turf (USA) for the week of February 1st 2014. PS4 sold 80,246 units in USA. Xbox One sold 59,747 units in USA. That is over 20,000 more PS4s sold than Xbox One consoles in the Xbox hotspot of the USA for that week!!!!!! Double the previous week where PS4 had an approximate 10,000 lead in that country. The Xbox One also continues to fall even further behind in Europe aswell for the week of February 1st 2014. The generation before, the ps2 beat the more expensive xbox. Im confident in the fact that the ps4 might outsell the xbox one in the early stages of the console war simply cuz its a cheaper gift to give, which is how most gaming consoles are obtained: as gifts. And the wii u is a joke, id be a bit shocked if it won. Edit: theres a youtube video with statistic s links that prove that the less expensive console has won every console war since the atari days, im on my phone so dont expect me to use my data to look for it but its worth looking up if you need proof.
