I am confused

So I was racing against a player, he has a glitched rank of 253, my first race against this player was a bike race. With catchup on. When the race began, I was ahead and he caught up using slipstream. All fine and fair, that's understandable. But once he overtook me, he just sped off. There is no godly way he was that fast. I managed to pull ahead after he crashed. He once again slipstreams and overtakes me. Once he was in first, even with me slipstreaming him, he still speeds off. How is that possible? Especially with catchup on? So next race, I start off in first for the first half of the race. He was way behind with another player trying to push him off the road. Once he passes that player. He starts to get closer and closer to me. Mind you, I had catchup off, he was too far to slipstream, also custom cars were off. We both drove stock gauntlets. How was he able to catch up without slipstreaming or catchup? I was driving flawlessly at that. It was an easy course. Anyway, once he passes me, with him right in front of me I was unable to slipstream him. Or even get any closer to overtake him. Yet he miraculously caught up after being so far behind. Has there been cases of players with mods to disable others from streaming them, and/or even mods to have stock cars perform better. May you wise fellow players shed light on my cause of much confusion. Enlighten me with any stories of similar incidents and answers to whether or not such mods exist. Thanks

Are we talking a race like the commute here? Or did it have corners?

If it has corners, he was probably just a better racer. Although that doesn't explain why you couldn't slipstream him.

So custom bikes were off, but did you have the same bike? Some bikes have a higher top speed than others, so if you had a slower stock bike and he had one with a faster top speed you'd be left in the dust.

I honestly think that he was neither cheating nor a better racer (necessarily). Slipstream accounts for everything you've witnessed: its implementation is ridiculous but entirely apparent nonetheless.

Yea, spot on. That's never happened to me, which is why I wrote that book of a topic to complain about it. I suppose with more experience I shall learn of better techniques

Doesn't have bikes on it, but this is a good chart to see (more or less) how some cars stack up against others, and to give you an idea of how different some stock specs are.

For awhile, I was experiencing a glitch where my stamina bar never depleted in both single player and online, meaning I could pedal my bike as long as I wanted without having to stop. Maybe some players still experience this?

When your stamina is maxed out it never depletes. I know mine hasn't since I maxed it out.

Having a level of 253 is entirely possible to earn legitimately, especially if you're really good at racing.

 

I suspect the player you went up against was a legit level 253 and really good at racing.

 

To assume he "glitched" his level is to assume foul play (negative reaction) and not give proper credit (positive reaction).

 

Just saying, is all.

I'm the one who posted the "One does not simply...", but I'm no troll. My post was meant to be light hearted and I appreciate that you've had a reasoned discussion in this thread. Your original post is still horrid to look at though.

 

Many on here (and other boards) detest so called "walls of text" and will take against people for posting in that format. Worth bearing in mind if you have something to say in future surely?
