Really? That sucks...

too right. I have just also read that they may be removing ALL custom emblems. Stupid rockstar.

This is sucky. I started designing my emblem on the 29th and was ready to upload on the 30th... NOPE.

Sucks for those of us that don't have emblems that infringe on anybody's copyrights.

I find this so ridiculous. There should be a Report Emblem feature if anyone really cares THAT much about nudity emblems. As for the copyright emblems, i understand that. Rockstar should just moderate crew emblems once a month and remove any copyrighted or inappropriate emblems. But no, they have to ruin the fun for everyone else who spent hours designing the emblem. The worst part is, they put people on the front page who CLEARLY have an SVG emblem.

Where are people getting the idea that the SVG exploit was patched due to copyright and/or 'rude emblem' issues?

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but rockstar have recently patched the method you could use to get any image as your crew emblem by changing the HTML code. I understand to an extent that rude and copyright images were being uploaded but it is just ruining the fun.

Even though they have done this they are still putting crews on the crew noticeboard that clearly have a HTML coded emblem, so thats what i don't understand.

Anyway, if anybody finds a way around this problem or another way to upload images then please comment it below.

Thanks

You could, oh I dunno, maybe use the emblem editor as it was intended. Yeah, a novel idea I know.

Well what other reason do they have to patch it? Go ahead and create me a really quality emblem on the emblem creator then? No you can't because it is too hard to use. You should at least be able to put text and add your own images on it

Oh great, so the emblem I spent hours designing will be replaced with some sh*tty shapes. I'm just making my new one into a cock if so.

Fix your f*cking game out before you remove things like this, they should be thankful people found a way to improve their sh*tty emblem creator.

Why does Rockstar let these Crews that are on the front page use their custom emblems, then? The reason they got rid of it is due to the copyrighted and inappropriate emblems but they went about it all wrong. And you can't be serious, the emblem creator is just clip art. How can you be creative with that?

Standard feature in svg editors is the ability to rotate a shape... very basic stuff. Can you do that with rockstar's emblem creator?

Hopefully they will remove this bullsh*t patch, if not then they should definitely improve the emblem creator or atleast let people keep the emblems they have spent time on.

lol you can be creative with Legos because they're a real world, 3D object. All you can do with the Emblem Creator is put shapes and pre-made icons. You can't even put text, there's no brush and no paint bucket. You simply can't be creative with the Emblem Creator.

Of course you bloody well can. That was the whole point of the Lego example; putting pre-defined shapes together to create art. Just because you or I can't do it, doesn't mean others can't or haven't (and they have). You are absolutely correct about the lack of text options though; it baffles me as to why the emblem editor wasn't shipped with that.

Here's some examples from the Black Ops emblem editor with what can be accomplished with just 'clip art'. (not even going to bother trying to distinguish between svg exploit and non-svg exploit GTAO emblems, as there are only a few examples that are clear cut).

Yeah you're right. But if people can do stuff like THAT with the emblem creator, they can just as easily make a copyrighted logo or a naked chick - which is exactly the reason Rockstar got rid of the SVG exploit. Which brings us back to the main point of this topic...

Unless someone can link Rockstar saying that then it's merely an assumption being spread by people who don't know what they're talking about. I've asked several times for people to link a source and no-one has done so yet.

I did try and use an SVG file on the emblem editor and it didn't work. That tells me nothing other than the fact that I can no longer save an emblem that's been modified in that way. What I'm asking for is proof that it's to do with copyright or tits, and I don't see any. I just want to be sure whether it's official or just the usual forum bullsh*t.

Because Rockstars has crews featured on their front page who are clearly using the SVG exploit. If they were so against people using this, they would remove these team's emblems or even countered SVG files in the first place. It's called putting 1 and 1 together, i don't get why people are even siding with Rockstar on this one. People like Biker-Coyte, the one who started this topic, put a lot of work into their emblem only to find out that Rockstar took this option away.

I don't know if that was pointed at me or not, but I'm not siding with Rockstar. I'd much rather have a fully fledged SVG editor instead of the crap emblem editor, complete with the ability to import SVG files so you can use whatever vector image editor you want - that would be awesome. I'm just asking if there has been an actual statement from Rockstar about the removal of this ability. Anything else is an assumption and that doesn't interest me. I'm not complaining about anything or accusing anyone of anything - I just asked if there's been an official word on this. That's all :)

Sorry, i mistook what you wrote. Same way i jumped to a conclusion on what you wrote, may be the same with how people are jumping to conclusions on Rockstar's emblem patch. It may be because they just don't want people to have SVG emblems. That makes very little since to me, since the SVG emblems can look much more professional and they have people on their main page with them. It also just seems selfish of them to act this way if it is solely for the reason they don't want people using SVGs. If it is due to copyrighted or inappropriate emblems , IF, then i wouldn't be as mad - because it somewhat makes sense. Either way, i'm just upset that we find a way to make professional logos for our crew and then it gets taken away. This is just like the Cop Car / Van garage storage glitch. It wasn't hurting anyone or the game itself but when Rockstar took away people's cop cars and vans and other special vehicles, Rockstar just ended up looking like dicks. And that's what's happening now.

Anyone surprised by them removing that ability is just silly it obviously wasn't designed for that otherwise there would be an image upload button. You skated around the use of the program to put naked ladies/ god only knows into the game visually.

Yah that didn't need squashed at all.

The emblem editor artist recently featured on the newswire would disagree with you. So would his entire crew, composed of emblem editor artists. For reference on what you can create with the editor, look at his work on the Shine Thugz emblem.
