KD himan
Hello everyone. i dont know if i should put this type of topic in general dyom fourms or support fourms. but i want to ask you that what you prefer to make missions in story? you use storyline feature for it or you simple make a archive of all missions? ( i mean what you do the most ). because i saw that most of people always make a archive of their missions in a folder then upload it to database. but some use storyline feature for it. i just want to know that if you are making missions in a story, so do you use storyline feature of dyom or make an archive of all missions you made? sorry, if you think that this topic should be in support form, so admins can lock this topic. Super Shizuku
Well all i can say is If you or people wants your story kinda like a new gta game its better to use storyline since you really want to make your own safehouse also mission trigger where you play mission but for me I'm not too interested with this because this take longer than usual mission pack ones but hey people have their own style when it comes to making missions so if you want make your own game storyline is your answer but if you really don't have much ideas for safehouse and mission trigger just simply mission pack now that's simple

Jimmy_Leppard
It depends on what your goal is, but I prefer mission packs because you can involve the player into the story much more and reel him in, sort of speak and also eliminate that ''garbage free-roam time'' which kills the story in many segments. That's why the majority of people are bashing on GTA V's story now - storyline feature kills the story in so many ways because the mechanics of a story and the whole point of a story gets lost in that free-roam. If a character in the story tells the protagonist to meet him A.S.A.P., it's unnatural for the story if the player goes cruising around for a couple of hours in real time (which is a sh*tload of time in GTA time for that matter). I pick the mission pack over storyline any day of the week. KD himan and Super Shizuku
Huzaifa khan
I am also prefer the Mission pack because we can make 2,3,6 or 8 mission pack or also we make chapters and it is too easy with the DSL. DSL is little bit of difficult because of mission triger setting or other intro and outro So I am with Mission Pack Edited February 1, 2014 by Huzaifa khan KD himan and Super Shizuku

AnDReJ98
Depends. But i'll go with storyline. I remember back when DYOM didn't had storyline feature, i was how to say 'sad'. I mean, i always wanted to make something like GTA's story. When DYOM v6 has been released, i started making storylines. I totally forgot about mission-packs, storyline replaced everything in my DYOM carrier. But story-line feature wasn't that popular. Most of people stuck to mission-packs and storyline was unpopular. As Dutchy said 2 years ago, 'it's shame that storyline didn't have big success. Storylines should have replaced all mission-packs'. And because of it's unpopularity, creators stopped updating storyline function in DYOM (more SL options, free roam etc...). I'm not saying it's better than mission pack. Depends. In some cases it's better storyline while in some cases it's better mission-pack. All i want to say is, storyline feature needs to be updated since there are also people who are using it. It doesn't mean i'm not satisfied with DYOM we got now. But just my opinions. KD himan

Yes AnDRej, you are right at your own point, if Dutchy and Patrick will make DYOM V9. they should add and improve new features in Storyline, so that people could gain their interest in Storyline feature because i saw that most of the storylines in the DYOM database are a winrar folder which are containing normal published missions. xD
Wolf247
Well, I like both, but both have their flaws. It's annoying when you see that at the end of missions and that song, and the fact that you can't skip it. And in Missionpacks, it's annoying how it starts automatically as soon as you start DYOM. Martin_GDF
I prefer storylines, because it really feels like Grand Theft Auto and it's cool to make a kind of story... that's why I like the most... but, for example in mission packs you can do lots of different mission genres, like horror, zombies ,etc... you can't do that in storyline mode because you're not allowed to modify the story outside the missions
MadMarshMallow
Both of them has its own speciality. It depends on the theme, actually. If you wanna go with an apocalypse or zombie theme, storyline isn't a good choice, right?

Doublepulse
For me it depends how your story is going to be told, and how it will connect to the gameplay. If you are interested in making multiple side content, and unlockables, storyline is the way to go. It gives the player the feeling he is achieving something as well. Storylines are for more non linear stories, while mission packs can be used for better story telling. There are ways to make your story be a mix of both MP and Storyline, and I think it is great because it gives the choice. Too be honest, there are plenty of Mission packs that can be turned into a storyline pretty easy. You just need to figure out the start and the ending location that your main character is at.
