GTA IV vs GTA V

Obviously, this isn't exactly the most innovative topic here, but I'd like to know what you think.

At the moment, i'm playing GTA IV online and having an absolute blast; nostalgia is creeping up on me. I can definitely sense some here, because this game feels entirely new and fresh again. I'm glad people are still playing this game, because it's so much fun

As for GTA V, I pretty much can't stand it, and I honestly have no clue why. I mean, yeah, getting spawn raped by tanks has taken its toll, but other than that, I can't figure out why I deny V so much. I think it's because it simply doesn't feel like a GTA game, ya know? I mean what ever happened to just ganging up on a player who keeps blowing up people with his chopper? Now we have our own apartment, an up-to-date cellphone, are able to own 10 luxurious automobiles, and can buy weapons/ammo.

GTA IV just feels more like a GTA game, I guess. I mean idk, I'd like to know your opinion.

I've already sold GTA V, and I regret nothing. The game is just too stale for me these days; the missions are extremely boring and never excite me. Good thing GTA IV does, because I'll be on this game for a while now

I dont agree...I will not go back to IV and when VI comes out I will not go back to V. I love having an apartment, passive mode, customizable cars, survivals, hide blip, bounties and my minigun.

I like to think it's because with GTA IV there was really not much to do when it came to multiplayer, so we were forced to use our imagination to make it fun.

With GTA Online I sometimes feel like we are spoiled with too many features and things to do.

While I think GTA 5 is better than 4 in almost every way, I will say that I had way more fun with RDR's MP than GTA 5's.

GTA IV's online was boring as hell. All everybody did was rush to the Buzzard/Annihilator so they can spawn camp people. All the matches were at the Airport. The hit detection was awful and it took a whole clip to kill somebody and 2 shots to the face to kill somebody with a pistol. Such a sh*t online.

I hated pilots in IV and now the choppers are much harder to control and I have a minigun so for that reason alone I would say V is far superior not even taking into account anything else.

I never really got into RDR's Multiplayer, in fact i think i'm only like level 6 or something like that.

But I was obsessed with the singleplayer. It was a turning point in my childhood when I witnessed what happened to Marston at the end :'(

The IV realism hooked me and now its kind of hard to accept GTA V gameplay. Something about IV's gameplay was so much better.

IV was absolutely nowhere near realistic. the top speed of the "fastest" cars in the game was literally 100mph. and that's for starters

I'm not even going to ask why you're in this subforum if you don't play this anymore.

Anyway, I found 4 fun because of friendly free roam. That's it. Then they're basically the same to me.

While I love the customization of 5, I somehow feel like IV was just a more fun experience with friends.

if gta iv online had all the features gta v did, then it would murder gta v online

GTA 4 had so much less than this game. Sure the comfort zone after playing GTA 4 for four years didn't hurt...so I understand that point but as much as I LOVED GTA 4....no way it can take me away from GTA 5 right now.

I was a Level 10 player in 4...and the only thing I miss is how I truly dominated in Deathmatches and Races because I knew the maps and tracks. In GTA 5 it's hit or miss, getting teamed up with high ranked players with absolutely no skills really sucks because I seem to be always put on their team. lol.

GTA IV did a better job with matchmaking than GTA Online does. I loved IV's deathmatches way more, since a lot of them were actually INDOORS. Lazer deathmatches are the only ones I play in GTAO. I only got to level 6 in IV, but I'll admit that it was so much fun while it lasted.

They need GTA IV esque free-roam, where you only started with a pistol, and everything had to be picked up and hijacked. No bad sport, no money... just classic no-worries chaos.

TBOGT's Police Stinger beats everything in that game. <3

GTA IV is entirely inferior to GTA V...story mode not included the only reason people would say GTA IV is better is because they are griefers that don't want to be penalized for griefing and don't want to earn what they want, they want to just run a few feet and pick up a rpg.

If thats what you're into, have fun though.

Now if you like the city opposed to Los Santos/Blaine County and Paleto Bay thats a fair arguement..but if you're gonna outright say the online of GTA IV was better you're gonna make me laugh.

You couldn't even race in GTA IV without someone smashing into you and bending your wheels so you can't get any speed while they took no damage to their vehicles at all, griefing was far too rampant in GTA IV.

Killing other players is fun granted but when its the only thing you can do which was the case in GTA IV, it becomes a bit much.

I guess I'm just not the type of guy who likes ruining the fun for others.

GTAO has its problems for sure but even with all of them its better than GTA IV.

Red Dead vs GTA V is a more even versus in my opinion, I still side with GTA V over it...don't get me wrong RDR's story slaughters GTA V and IVs..Hell it curb stomps IVs..but the online (which for me counts for a lot more than SP)..GTA V wins.

My favorite GTAs though will always be GTA 3 and Vice City though, Liberty City Stories is growing on me though (playing atm)

SA-MP destroys both GTA IV and GTA V's online.

That statement is highly dependent on what SA-MP server you are playing on. I've encountered some god awful ones in my time that managed to make me appreciate GTA IV mp and that is a tough thing to do.

I prefer GTA 5 but it has terrible community. If it wasnt about it GTA 5 would be way more appreciated.

GTA 4 was fun until the console modders completely ruined every single bit of GTA 4 MP

like a month after V was released i decided to go back to IV...

i couldnt believe my eyes, how the game i played for so many hours for so many years looked so ugly to my eyes. everything looks dark, blurry and yellowish.

Rushed back to V!

comparing IV MP to GTAO, i really would love to blend the 2, IV had options that made freeroam

way better(cops OFF) that option only alone would

make gtao a better place, give us friendly fire, blips colors and blips options(near, far, on, off) as a added bonus.

IV was infested with modders that simply ruined the experience and R* failed to fix that. Hope they never allow that to happen in gtao.

apart from those options, gtao is way better.

slippery slope

I LOVED IV free mode. Was playing it right until V launched. Pure skill v skill. Same health, same weapons, level playing field. Tried going back to it a month or so ago and my god... I can't drive for sh*t on that anymore. I also got sent to prison in a hippo outfit for killing the wrong player... Can't say I miss those f*ckers!

Yeah my driving gone to sh*t too. And for the prison part, that'll happen in GTAV in say, a year or so?

I just want the dogfights at the airport back. Seriously the most fun thing to do back in IV.

I think V is superior. IV really required people to be creative and imaginative. V simply has more depth. I do wonder which map I like more though. IV was more balanced I guess.
