The mechanic is so stupid.

Its been a issue for a while. However from personal experience it seems that it doesn't happen quite as much as it did to me a few patches ago. Wheter that is coincedence or not I'm not sure.

Mechanic has never given me any problems.

Then again I usually call him when I'm on a lonely road, the only road that I have ever known where there's no car for miles.

Pls tell me that isn't a Greenday reference lol

Yup, it is. If you don't like Green Day, I can tell you the worst thing about them is their fanbase.

I am a fan of them but they easily have the worst fans in the world.

worst part about greenday is that they're a bunch of sellouts

old sh*t was pretty good but now they just make commercial BS

Hey, hey, don't get me started on that bullsh*t. As much as you're free to an opinion, I have it in good knowledge that is not the case.

I know a few guys who actually know them, hell one of them is directing a documentary of Green Day's early years. When you get to know stories from the other side of things, you find out it's quite the opposite, they give a sh*t about people they know from the scene they came from. Sure, they went political, but I've been to a few of their shows and they clearly give a sh*t about their fans; one example being they don't decide ticket prices but they try and make sure they're not over-expensive so people can actually see them. Quite frankly, they care more about the fun than the art.

I will admit, the last album (the ¡UNO!, ¡DOS!, ¡TRÉ! trilogy, I bet Reprise are still pissed with them about the idea) wasn't that great but to me, the subject matter of the albums don't define a sellout. It's people actually like the music and it's something that they enjoy hearing as well as relating to, and I find that's what I like about them.

If you want sellouts, try looking at bands who quite literally don't give a sh*t about their fans and don't even try to connect with them.

I think it is fair to say though that even when they don't "sell out", they are trying to appeal to more and/or different people as time goes on. Kinda how it goes. Band gets popular with a certain style, then tries to be original. In the case of selling out they change the sound to be more "poppy", catchy, and generic if you will. Some bands keep to the same roots and usually they stay about the same status or they fade away. Look at Social Distortion....great formula. Still rockin. Then you look at the other side at say Metallica.......need I say more? hahaha

"That stab wound was already there, right?" - probably the best response I've ever read in regards to the mechanic's idiocy.

Hold up: so a change in direction defines a sellout? Has anyone ever considered subjective interest? Most artists change their style to suit their interest, and some bands don't change it because their current style suits their interest to the ground.

I'm aware of what you're trying to say but I got into them since American Idiot; and I've listened to every album ever since I laid hands on that. I think it's more important that it gets people into their older stuff, not just their sound now. So many fans I know like all of their stuff, and they started off as fans in 2004, so I think if it's caused people to listen to all their stuff, for better and worse, then I think they've done a good job regardless of the music style.

I was told once by a friend that it was Green Day's manager that told them to go in that pop-punk-political direction, all because his dad's band's manager tells their band what style to take, so somehow that merits the musical direction of every band of every genre ever.

Is it any irony that we're talking about this on the 20th anniversary of Dookie? We should talk more about that album, it f*cking kicks ass.

After getting tank blasted in fort zancudo, I spawn and ask for my Entity. The mechanic arrives and drives into the pond/swamp, exits saying:

"Scratch was already there, right?"

Less than a sec later:

"Your vehicle was destroyed, call Mors Mutual Insurance bla bla bla"

9937$ lost and I'm still in the middle of nowhere

Many thanks

You're right, I do need to improve on that, but it's my bad. I tend to misunderstand a lot of things.

Sorry about the confusion.

I really don't understand why is everybody pissed off with the mechanic. He always does his job correctly on my game, never ever had a problem with him so far...

EDIT: Fixed a typo.

I do believe he meant the music went a little mainstream, a veneer of "pop" on top of the "punk"

Yesterday when I called in my Feltzer, he just drove right past me and continued on a trip around the map. Whenever I went to get a new car from my garage it said I was going to lose all modifications I made to my current car... dafuq

Ya my wife got in a car she had him deliver, then he pulled her out and drove off with it. Had to restart the session. Sometimes a car goes missing for days too. Can't help feeling like he is pulling a "Ferris Bullers Vallet" on me.

I was at the LSC near the international airport. I called for my Monroe. Mechanic spawns on the highway above me and drives of the ramp( or rather the place where there is no side protection) he lands on top of me (I had about 20% health left) he got out... "scratch was already there, right?" and I was left to die under my favorite car, while he just stood there and watched me die. After that day he never was the same again and I am pretty sure he is out to get me, he also stole my akuma bike(fully upgraded) twice!!! I HATE THAT c*nt
