soudruhger Posted January 31, 2014 Share Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) Hi, recently, I ordered a PS3 + GTA V bundle, but the retailer ran out of stock, so I have two options : 1) More waiting for a PC port (which I am pretty tired of) 2) Get a Xbox 360 instead which they have in stock and get GTA V additionally. Opinions? EDIT : I decided to cancel the order. It was a stupid move after waiting for 2 years and I regret it. The topic will be closed in 2 hours. Thanks to everyone for suggestions. But in my opinion you should wait for the PC version, and that's why: 1. Better graphics 2. You don't have to pay for Xbox Gold to play GTA Online 3. Theoretically better overall performance, if the rumours that this is not a port are true 4. Xbox 360 is preety old, so you will not get any new big titles for that console. If you want to buy a console anyway, in my opinion, you should save some more money and buy Xbox One or PS4. I hope that my post will be useful for you Cheers! I recommend you wait for the PC version, the console versions just don't run the way you would want it to run, the choppy frame rate is one issue, also, mods can fix all the issues present in the game that Rockstar refuse to fix, so it's a better investment. If you are just now thinking about playing the game, I'd honestly just wait for the PC version, unless you really want to play it, but as Agathodaemon said, the 360 is pretty much done getting huge titles since the Xbox One is out. That's what I did on the PS3 as I was waiting for GTA V to be released. But if you are going to do that, you may aswell wait for the game to be released on the PC. LiquidNitrogen Posted February 1, 2014 Share Posted February 1, 2014 The Xbox 360 is going to have support until 2016 so I'm pretty sure there's gonna be at least a few more "big" titles for 360 IMHO. They obviously aren't gonna be as good looking as on X1 though. R* knew about X1 so they could have waited til it came out to release GTA 5 but they didn't and its still a great game even on 360 so there's potential for a few more great games for 360. Anyway op, don't pay any attention to Fluttershy Pony & co, they're just incredibly bitter at the moment, and are taking every opportunity they can to sh*t on consoles. I have V for the PS3, and can tell you the game looks absolutely incredible, and runs surprisingly well on these 8 year old machines, given the size and scope of it. I've seen preowned 360's go for as little as £20 - £50, so you won't be totally out of pocket, and if you're anything like the majority of the fanbase, you'll definitely get a great experience in return. *To the guys saying they wouldn't buy a console for one game: I purchased my first PS2 solely for GTA III, and my first PS3 solely for GTA IV. It was really unconfortable for me, i didn't really enjoy it as much as i thought i would. I think it can be worse than this for some. Just a warning. Even if money is no object to your purpose, buying this game for older platforms so late is bad I think. You will spoil the joy of the game when you can get it with higher quality settings either for x1 or ps4, or pc depending on your specs. As of now, the release can be this month or after spring kicks-in.Also, you would spend money for online on xbox while for ps3 isn't necessary. Another con of buying this game now, plus the console as you don't have it. You will be far behind everyone else in online mode because you are getting the game now (maybe it doesn't matter much as everyone is poor now kkkkkk), I would just start the online career mode if you don't plan on getting it on new-gen/pc version. Same as for the story. Sure you have seen gameplay in youtube, but actually you playing and discovering the story+free roam has to be a one time thing; not now in old console and after some time doing it. Discovering the game at its final breaths of console life is not worth, even if you are rich and don't bother spending 300eur for the bundle. First off, paying for multiplayer is retarded and the way gamers allowed Microsoft to get away with this sh*t only helped ease us into a new sh*t industry where publishers and game companies get away with murder. Plus you've waited this long, why not just hold off till the true release comes out. I wish I had your strength to have held out this long even, because I caved in and got it day 1 on Xbox 360. In hindsight, I regret it deeply. First off, by buying it inevitably twice I am part of the statistic that proves to Rockstar this shady f*cking tactic works. That they can get 2 copies of the game per player. That's disgusting. Second I will have ruined the experience for myself. I could have played it the true way on PC and experienced the game with amazing performance and visuals but no I had to just "play" it and I ruined that first time experience for myself. It'll still be great when I get it on PC but it's just like sex. There's no time like the first time so make that first time count. Those games that are $60 on Steam didn't come months after the console release now did they? And I've seen other games for $60 on there like Arma 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin's Creed IV, some South Park game is on there now for $60 pre order, and some strategy games like Total War: Rome II and Planetary Annihilation. My used copy of GTA V was $49 on the dot, back in late Sept. off of eBay. Luckily for me, despite being used, it even came with an unused blimp code.
