All alone without phone in passive mode

So im driving into LSC. Someone blows me up right inside the gate.

When i respawn in im passive mode, with no phone or meny whatsoever.

After a few minutes it all froze. Restart the ps3.

 

Is it just me or has gta been a bit unstable lately?

This happens rarely to me, but nonetheless, it happens. Randomly when I select an option in my inventory menu, I hold the back button to remove the menu but it never goes away and I can't run or shoot weapons. Also happens rarely when I call lester.
