The GTA V beta hunt

It's not strange, it's marketing. They just want to make sure everything works fine. The game has been developing for a long time, so a delay is barely possible.

So eh... we're still waiting for dem heists.

You just gotta wait till spring ends... OH WAIT!

Pretty sure it's not a mission. Just Trevor going on a 5-star rampage. Climbing the Vinewood sign seems like an appropriately dramatic thing to do in a situation like that :p.

Yet more remnants from the old days when the game was more like GTA IV. There's just more to dig out every day.

I'm curious about the Rubbergun, it does look like Yusuf's Uzi. Non-lethal weapon firing rubber bullets?

According to some people here, ALL the updates that have come out since GTA Online's release and will be getting released till its end of life are apparently on the disc since release. And we're just dumb idiots who have never noticed them being on the disc all along! :rol:

Not quite, they gradually add content with each update. People knew about Massacro, Zentorno and Huntley before the High Life Update since they were (partially) added in the previous update (Business Update if I'm right)

Apparently, this is a very early and unfinished model found for the Rustler, this time more of a Spitfire. Could be a bird, but looks to weird for one.

...huh. I don't doubt the authenticity of it but that looks wayy too rough and undetailed to be a legit vehicle model, especially one that somehow snuck into the released game, call me a skeptic.

Note how he said "very early and unfinished", every model in a game has to start somewhere.

but every start in a game doesn't usually get shipped, that's why I'm not so sure

Spawned by a modder in a GTA O session.

Yes, but what modder, where'd you get the picture, what model is spawned, etc.

every model in a game has to start somewhere.

And they always start with high-poly. If this is a new vehicle, then it has a higher poly model too - though who knows if that was left on disc as well - and the vehicle would be fairly 'complete'.

But anyway, that does look too low detail for a vehicle. Even a low LOD would still have some defining features.

Not to mention fairly small. If that's going to be a spitfire it needs to be at least 2-3 times bigger.

Models can be scaled. It could easily be bigger or smaller. The size doesn't tell anything.

Jesus. what difference does it make? A random person took a picture of a random model spawned by a random modder on the garage. If I knew the person who did it/which model it is, then we'd not be here asking questions but instead ignoring it as something else or getting mad at the fact it was cut. For the quality being too low, remember it's a plane. These things can be seen from pretty far away, and as such, lower LODs would help. I don't see how anyone would notice how crappy the model is when it was so far away and textured. Considering the position of the "plane", it seems to be upside down and we can't see the tail. The only detail this plane has on the viewable area wouldn't be LOD worth. And they could have taken out the more detailed model (s) but forgotten to take the the lowest LOD.

Because I wanted to know what it was. Getting details would make it easier to to find the files and get info on it. Finding cut/beta stuff is kinda what this thread is about...

But whatever, I found it and it's not a cut vehicle, just a prop.

Darth_Starkiller

Well, it is a Spitfire after all. Just not the kind we wanted.

The name of the model would make a difference. But considering the context of this (which can be fairly easily discovered), there is no reason to know the modder/photographer.

Just out of curiosity, where does this prop appear?

You could always ask them for a model name though. I just got lucky on a hunch assuming it was a prop in lev_des.

It's in lev_des so (if it is used) it's loaded through a #typ file, but there's no viewers for those - so I don't know. Edited by SonofUgly

Wow I think the model is similar with the Mckenzie-Fergusson F2 Victor plane in Just Cause 1, a game which inspired by GTA SA :sly:. Edited by Rizqan

So I go away for a whole day and crazy stuff is being found...

Where is that WW2 plane prop located? Maybe there's some significance. As usual, I don't look.

And as far as I know, no actual unused vehicle models are there, right?

What's up guys, I'm back! I've started a new gta wiki at http://bettergta.wikia.com. My plan is to take the best of the gta wiki and the best of the grand theft wiki and put them together into a bigger, better gta wiki. My ultimate goal is to have it as legit and professional as the minecraft wiki. If you would like to help out just drop on by the wiki, I've already got the main page set up!

EDIT: On topic I'd love to see the rustler return, the fact that it was only a prop is terrible though.

@Flesk99, I never even thought of bombing stuff. I like the idea, flying around bombing cars and such. Seems a bit far fetched for GTA V though. I would expect it to be more like San Andreas' Rustler with wing mounted MGs, which worked sort of like the Lazer's guns, but without explosive rounds.

CatchallRat682

@Flesk99, Yeah! That's exactly what I was thinking. Old warbirds like that had three or four MGs in each wing. So with that firepower you could do some real damage. The old radial engine would add that ever-needed balance. This is what makes it a great plane in San Andreas, it has a lot of firepower, but is slow enough to give you time to aim and shoot at things. It can get fast on downhill swoops, which can make it hard to put enough bullets into something to really do any damage.
