is it possible to check textures? like clothes and stuff?

There isn't anything different in the build, a lot of the files are corrupted but even if we had non corrupted version then they would most likely be the final ones (maybe with some small differences here and there), there are files that are not corrupted but there's no visible differences, and even if there is some different files then they're pretty rare

This build doesn't have any "beta characters" or anything (apart from the north yankton female cop model, which we already have from Xbox 360 Japanese version), the only interesting things were the cut interiors, debug xmls and bugstar logs, there isn't much else you can find

I have no idea who has the devkit now. from what i remember, it would be similar to the cnh devkit (incomplete builds) but probably without retail files and with files older than july probably. I have never spoken to the original owner directly, this is what I have been told in the past. I remember that there was another user with a devkit with dlcs (and maybe rpfs of builds) from July but T2 found out and I don't remember what happened next. he is very inactive but I doubt he has the devkit in the state it was before. both cases were a long time ago. If it were today, T2 probably wouldn't care about it anymore.

There will always be devkits out there. The question is who has it and whether that person wants to make it public.

Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing. By July build with DLCs do you mean a July 2013 build with the programmable AR, clown outfit and the miscellaneous stuff you listed a couple posts ago or you mean someone actually having a devkit with the files from the Agent Trevor, Zombies and Alien DLCs (or other big single player expansions). I feel like you know a lot of stuff that is news to most of us in the forum so I would be grateful for a specific and detailed answer.

Do you mind telling us what is even the process of getting in contact with people who have such stuff? I was under impression that this forum is the most appropriate place to learn about beta content but it seems from what you are saying that there are some other groups who have much better access to beta content than we do. Also, these 2 devkits, approximately when did they surface? What year? How these people were able to get a hold on them? Let us know as much as you know, what you are saying is fascinating.

I just know that there were weapon DLCs and also the atomic blip. the modification date is older by a few days compared to the dlcs that are on the hidden palace wiki.

"Do you mind telling us what is even the process of getting in contact with people who have such stuff?" The first point is that there is no way to know that a user X has devkits from a company Y unless he says so or is asked about it or someone informs the interested user about it. The second point is that even if you know a certain user has a devkit, if he hasn't made it public it's probably because he doesn't want to. Even if you ask, he either won't respond or he'll say no. An alternative would be to buy this devkit which would perhaps open up the chances of him making it available but even then, he could refuse. On eBay it is normal to have devkits for sale , however, when I searched, I never found any devkit that indicated to me that it was from Rockstar, but we never know, maybe one day someone will notice the existence of a Rockstar devkit on eBay and it will fall into the right hands.

Even if a devkit is made available on the internet, an inexperienced user will not be able to open the HDD. Regardless of whether it is an Xbox 360 or PS3, if the HDD is in imgc format, it will be necessary to convert it to img to be able to view it, which will require you to use the "HDD Raw Copy Tool". Regarding xbox 360 devkits, "FATXTools" is suitable to know more or less what is in the img. Using this tool on a ps3 devkit will not work. Unlike the Xbox 360, converting imgc to img will not be enough as it will be necessary to decrypt the img using keys (without them the img is practically useless). There is a tool for this, which is "hdd_decrypt". To view what is on a ps3 img, R-Studio is the best option. Of course, these visualization tools do not show everything that exists in the devkit, which will require you to use HxD to view the img and, of course, the level of difficulty is another level. It will be necessary to study the file formats (for example, how does an rpf file start?). This may seem easy, but for those who have never used tools like this, it will be difficult to succeed. Furthermore, it will be even more difficult to join file fragments and other things. This was a summary of how to analyze Xbox 360 and PS3 devkits and obviously, probably many people who have no experience in this and read it for the first time will be confused.

I just remembered one more thing, there are 2 PS3 devkits that were released on a now defunct semi-private server, but they were from Team Bondi. As expected, it contains incomplete install data for La Noire and unfortunately retail files for GTA 5. One of them also had a patch date of October 2013 but it is irrelevant. I don't remember the owners of these devkits but as I mentioned in the past, it is basically useless to try to recover incomplete files from these install data even though there is a possibility that some are from 2009 because as there is no tool capable of viewing files for PS3 of this game, it is useless to try to extract them. I think I remembered that on this server someone had posted some unlisted videos of carsonGT cutscenes (they were in an incomplete state obviously and I don't even know if they were ever made "public" before) and I remember a user saying on this server that he had some rockstar devkits but complained that they were empty (one thing I learned is that being empty does not mean that there are rpfs of incomplete builds on it). I think that in addition to the 2 devkits I mentioned, I think a third one would be released but so far that hasn't happened but it would probably be similar to the previous ones (probably just with GTA 5 retail content and/or with an irrelevant dev patch).

"Also, these 2 devkits, approximately when did they surface? What year? How these people were able to get a hold on them" I don't know when devkits came out, I just know it was a few years ago. probably obtained from recycling centers or vendors (like ebay).

I’ve always wondered if Carson ever had the animations for those beta cutscenes or just the audio

Most of the rockstar devkits come from a specific ebay seller who gets them sent to him, he then quick wipes them and the rest is history. The friend of carsongt who would send the files to him during the recovery process was told it came from a recycling center so it aligns. Most of them are team bondi devkits, the  devkit they got was from Rockstar San Diego with the pink sticker.
Alot of people with team bondi devkits just ended up with useless gta5 install data. I contacted 3 seperate people who had team bondi devkits and it was all nada. I think it really comes down to who has the most money to throw and are in the right circles willing to buy these kits like lootboxes until they end up striking gold essentially lol

Still mind boggling that Carson's friend never uploaded the full HDD of that devkit anywhere, so much was probably lost since they never thought to back it up

Hello friends, I’m not an expert in all this, but I was looking at the source code and I haven’t seen anyone mention this online — the Visual Studio projects for GTA V shaders from 2010, 2012, and 2015 are there. That means the source for the beta version shaders of GTA V is available.

Can someone who knows programming tell me: how feasible would it be to compile those shaders into a version compatible with the PC release of GTA V and make it playable?

GTAVDLCCLOWNCMPP was MP Clown DLC, GTAVDLCOUTFIT001 was most likely Michael's Clown outfit DLC

On the ps3 version there is clown glove for trevor or Micheal I remember seeing it with a trainer

I recall there was a clown outfit for Micheal found in the PC files, is that the same one from the dlc for PS3/360?

what are you talking about?
those are literaelly just the final game code and shaders
just that R* used a different visual studio version

the 2015 one is not even used

R* on PS4/XONE/PC legacy, compile using the 2012 version

RDR2 used iirc 2015

and PS5/XSERIES/PC Enhanced are compiled with 2019

RDR2 usado, si no recuerdo mal, 2015

y PS5/XSERIES/PC Enhanced están compilados con 2019

I understand, thanks for the clarification. I'm not very knowledgeable about this topic, but more than the assets, the first thing I'd like to see is the graphical look from the first GTA 5 trailer.

Remember the mentioned Trevor Army and Michael Clown DLC outfits? It seems that all the logic for DLC clothing in singleplayer is still implemented to this day, meaning that if somebody was to create a custom clothing DLC it would work without issues.

This is what i did, i managed to make a custom DLC which adds the scrapped LSPD Officer outfit to Michael's wardrobe and it works just fine.

This post is a showcase of the scrapped Police outfit in it's entirety, with recreated arm patches which seemingly were made for older model because they didn't fit anymore, just keep in mind i changed the nametag to "De Santa" instead of generic "Ronson" but everything else was left intact.

Are you able to make more for the other unused outfits still in the game?

Yes, I'll be making the cut DLC outfits into a real thing, alongside unobtainable outfits like the Firefighter outfit from FIB Heist (+ Trevor's), the Juggernaut outfit and such

I would also like to recreate some of the scrapped outfits based on leftovers and by filling the blanks, such as the Paramedic Outfit which seems was planned to be used during Blitz Play back when they still had the Ambulance instead of Towtruck, I just wonder how exactly it would be used, I will also try to make mime outfit for Franklin as pants, hat and boots are leftover, leaving just the torso open to interpretation (I think I will make it a black and white stripped shirt with short sleeves and suspenders), let's not forget about Trevor also having leftovers of Cop outfit and Franklin having leftovers of Juggernaut outfit

Michael also has an unused shirt + tie combo in accessory slot which is a bit strange, seems it's straight up copied from doctor NPC and fits the doctor coat perfectly, but it's unknown what was it's purpose, bonus mention of Trevor wearing the red Hawaiian shirt during the gay couple setup in Sharmoota job

Here is my interpretation of Michael's clown outfit, I didn't do any work on the textures yet and everything is straight from the clown NPC with some edits, curiously enough the clown models are pretty high quality, makes me think they reused them from the protagonist clown outfits, call me a conspiracy theorist but the textures for the clown clothing also utilize green, orange and blue quite a lot which are the three protagonist colours

YdTz8DA.png

The amount of models seems to match as well, Michael had clown pants, clown torso, clown accessories and clown hat, which is exactly how this is set up

About the doctor coat, maybe it was meant to be used during the Morgue mission and Michael would disguise himself as a doctor after waking up to get upstairs steathly. I doubt this holds alot of water tough, they probably had a different version of the mission in mind during the period this accessory existed at all.

Yeah i thought of that too but nothing to prove so

Very nice work but I swore there is a very unfinished unused clown outfit for Micheal in the files already.

If you're talking about the second variation of diving suit then that's also what i thought until the PC source leak, it's internally called "scuba_bright" so i think it just must be some testing texture

If it's the plaid looking red outfit then yes. I can't find any pictures of it though.

OhMrZack

Not sure if anyone posted this or not. But I remember seeing this video when it dropped and now i’m just coming back to it.

But has anyone seen this in-game? or was it something they made for the Alien DLC. I notice on the artifact it has UFOs in the middle. Looks interesting.

This time I have empirical proof though :shillkek:

This might be a bit of a stretch since it's from Dave's artwork, but it looks like the FIB vehicles were supposed to have US Government plates rather than the state level exempt plates they ended up with in the final game - much like real life. A very similar government plate shows up in this image of a Vice Beach Police car - the wrong level of law enforcement admittedly, but to me this suggests it was probably scrapped from V and carried over to VI. There are some subtle differences, but the US flag design is almost identical.
