@HeySlickThatsMe Amazing! But why not upload to tcrf.net?

I don't really like editing on tcrf but if somebody wants to relay what I wrote here to tcrf then that's fine by me

I wonder why this heist was cut

The Sharmoota Job got cut simply because of the rewrites that Rockstar chose to start doing with GTA V's story since September 2012, its events were connected to Lamar Down and possibly the original pre-rewrite Solomon strand: as shown by unused lines, originally the Lamar Down shootout was in the Del Perro parking lot, with Michael and Trevor both arriving from the movie studio to help Franklin with resources they brought from said place (Michael riding the horse Sharmoota and Trevor flying the Vulkan jet stolen in the cut mission "Harrier").

The stuff previously mentioned possibly indicates that Michael chose to rob Martin Madrazo because, like with the stolen Vulkan, Solomon's studio needed a horse so the movie's filming could progress. I have nothing that confirms this, but Michael and Trevor coming from the movie studio in the old Lamar Down gives that possibility.

Also, I wonder if Sharmoota became a "personal vehicle" of Michael given that the horse appeared after the heist and some unused police scanner audio files confirm horses were ridable.

Damn, I totally forgot about this image.

I though it was fake back then too, its funny finding out that old "fake" images were actually real all along.

edit: I know these were probably placeholder prices, but £5 for the Rubber Gun!? :modkek:

I remember thinking the guy who leaked the EAOC update was full of sh*t. I can't remember his name but he got dogpiled on so hard by naysayers, once the update came out he said he was done. Or something like that. It's been a long time.

Dragoon I believe. Rockstar's dev patch server (before they used the Launcher and a proper CDN for downloads) was somehow open, and an exploit allowed him to download updates early. He had an early build of EAOC with placeholder assets but lots of things that were already gonna make it into the game, so he leaked it all.

Re: Sharmoota

The fact that they still named the place Nice House when they were developing it kind of makes me think the heist was designed at a point where the narrative wasn't quite done yet and characters didn't yet have names, so they didn't have a name for that place yet. It being cut in earlyish/mid dev could explain why there's no files remaining in the source code leak. I know there's proper audio recorded, but how (especially back then) R* worked at breakneck speed, they probably wanted to have as many lines prepped as possible in case the heist was indeed gonna make it in and had to be fully finished.

Ok, It's good information to use as reference for modding.  Maybe one day modders can recreate the SP DLC.

Editing mission scripts is not possible?

Was WildBrick142 that found how to load DLC from main menu?

At the moment i doubt you could recreate something substantial, maybe with the source code assets (Assuming they are in the hands of some people) we could have more to work with but currently it's mostly lines of code creating the idea of how it played.  There is of course some stuff that can be recreated or restored  but there isn't alot and mostly minor.

@Kyox Most assets was reused for GTA Online, right? About missions I don't know how create without .NET ScriptHook, 😔 And the leaked audio files from the PS3 Devkit was never uploaded in the internet (Maybe use AI to recreate?).

@WildBrick142 The DLC main menu be used to load maps mods that replace Los Santos?

Something I've wondered for a while, is there any evidence of removed music from the first PS4/Xbox One ports of the game? Anything that could have been removed with a day 1 patch?

I remember seeing streams from people who got the physical editions early. The only thing is, I vivdly remember seeing a video is Michael driving around Vinewood in first person with Hip to be Square playing on the radio. However, I've never once seen any evidence of it ever being in or removed from the game.

Considering the amount of empty IDs inside of trackid.gxt2 inbetween songs, a mountain of music must've been cut from the next gen versions. I counted 81 unused track IDs (starting from the next-gen IDs).

I suspect most of these would've been songs cut from the original PS3/360 port (like with Hip To Be Square, which also was cut from the original versions according to the devkit leak)

I don't know where to ask this and I am also sure that it has been discovered a long time ago already, but in GTA V's trailer 2, the truck with the expensive cars which are supposed to be delivered to Devin Weston/his assistant, is heading towards the airport/ship port (potentially) and not towards the north of the map.

Was that mission supposed to take us to one of these places or did they just placed that specific scene in the middle of the city due to artistic/cinematic reason of this specific trailer?

you were meant to bring them to the docks

and then like in SA you were iirc meant to use the "scouting the port" crane controls to put it onto a ship

with gta v i feel the biggest effect of changed story. Maybe because the story is more satirical, or due to it following chapter structure without showing chapters. But i do feel there is big difference between how game was presented originally in trailers and how it ended up. Like the game was advertised mostly as Retired bank robber with mid life crisis get's back into the game to get the feeling back. But in the game although *tehcnically* it is true it is more like retired back robber  gets back into the game for 1 heist, then when trevor gets back he does random jobs for iaa, steals nuke (for some effin reason?) gets into movie business and near the end tries the heist game again for glory.

Like i really out of everything want to know the originall story plan, and how close was it to what we got in the end? Like was the gta v story always more focused on satire and trailers were made separate from how the game is?

i still rememger radar love from the game informer article. That and the " i need midwife for this" trevor switch, which i'm not sure if it wasn't reused somewhere

I don't suppose Dragoon still has that post or topic up? I love reading into early builds. I learnt from Tez about EAOC being planned as early as 2014.

Quick reverse image search finds this - it's from a long-dead third party multiplayer mod: https://www.moddb.com/mods/gtamp/news/gtamultiplayer-development-blog-20

In the finale where Michael was supposed to be turned into pork chop by a helicopter blade, the code is almost all there, just commented out, here is how the scene would've played out:

A heli with a single pilot onboard would appear as soon as you reached here in the image below, and the heli would've turned on a searchlight aimed at Franklin, with a focus set on the heli and the camera shaking. Both the heli and Franklin were supposed to have voice lines commenting on the heli and the foot chase. Then the searchlight would be focused on Michael as he flees to the ladder, probably as a visual guide in case you can't see where he is going.

image.thumb.png.1acf3c5e4a9da9a6b8d1f83d52096819.png

The heli would continue to fly about and follow you around with a searchlight and emerge once more after you and Mike climbed the final ladder, where Mike gets dropped on the blades

Then you would begin to climb down the ladder and at the exact coordinates in the image below the next stage would start. 2 Police cars were supposed to approach the premises as Franklin fled, 2 officers in each car, and Franklin would've gotten a wanted level, where you probably had to evade the cops to end the mission.

image.thumb.png.bcb272f5782307de0b8a0a0fe9794471.png

Also for some reason, the Lamar phone call would take place 100m away or if you climbed down the stairs, which doesn't make sense to do since you have to evade cops.

Another cool fact, the police heli has 4 unique starting positions that would depend on where the player is and looking at:

In total 2 substages were cut out of this mission, stage 4 where the heli would appear after reaching the powerplant, and stage 7 where you had to escape from the cops

Another mission, this time, Pack Man. We saw from beta screens that you were driving toward the docks instead of Paleto, here is how the original went down:

GTAV_Prerelease_PackMan.thumb.jpg.fa67a232d89ed0ee219715e515c53747.jpg

Original mission description: The player loads the stolen cars onto a truck, defends the truck as it's driven to the docks, and loads any intact cars onto a container ship.

All cars were meant to be detachable, not the JB700, you could lose them all if not careful.

The mission started here:

The checkpoint was here, the mission loaded BUILDINGNAME_IPL_DOCK_CRANE, you had to use that godforsaken crane minigame to load them on the ship:

Cut character intro sounds? I think there was supposed to be intro for all three protagonists similar to their character trailers. Don't know if this was posted here already. https://imgur.com/a/ufjIs4C    File Location: x64/audio/sfx/SCRIPT.rpf

This version makes the most sense. In the actual mission, you just go to the drop off point and that's it. Where do the vehicles go?

I speculate that it was done because of the hefty dialogue exposition exchanged between Lamar and Trevor and it was probably added well after the mission was completed. The drive from the gas station to the docks wouldn't even complete 10 percent of the dialogue.

HOW'S ANNIE?

With all the GTA dev builds coming from the woodwork at the moment, do you guys think that one day Agent Trevor may leak? As cool as some of these dev builds are, I can't imagine anything cooler than the community coming into possession of a completely unreleased GTA game.

Considering what happened last time, and how interest in pre-release content has only increased over the past few years, I think we're likely to have a repeat of the previous situation instead.

I just found something very weird, i was working on Programmable AR Mod and for the heck of it i decided to google XM25 3d model, hoping to find a sketchfab link and get a nice reference for some parts with ability to move the camera

The first result was this model called XM25 Grenade Launcher - Game Ready but i quickly realized something... somehow it's too similar to the GTA V Beta model, quickly comparing both i realized they're way too similar to each other... especially since both have a red glint on the scope texture that would've been impossible to see because the front of the gun was never shown

i3k3Hji.gif

Due to their crazy similarity, i asked a friend who used a tool to rip the model from sketchfab since the model was never released to public... to my surprise the UV map is exactly the same (what the f*ck?)

F5tgMcN.gif

Now this begs the question, what's going on here? The model was published on sketchfab 2 years ago, which was before the scrapped weapon DLC's leaked too. The only thing that would make sense to me is that the person who uploaded this (crescentdialgames) could've been outsourced to make the Programmable AR model for GTA V back in the day or they were actually a R* dev who worked on the model, the post also says it was originally made in 3DS Max which also makes sense here. Very interesting!

Spider-Vice

Could it be that this was part of some asset pack way back then and R* used it as a base, then this person also used it and republished it on SketchFab? Could be a lost media situation. Or the guy did have the Rockstar model somehow.

Yeah i thought so too, i should've elaborated on my "outsource" bit, but i also considered that it could've been sold in some pack however when trying to search for the same model i only found the sketchfab link and nothing else, unless it really is some lost media thing like you said
