Some of these shots are how I imagined V to be before the launch and after waiting for years for the PC version. RDR style vegetation, IV radar, that ''style'', I like those screenshots a lot. By the way folks, save all you can, Uncle Rockstar might come out at anytime and shut them all down.

I can't express how much I agree with you.. that "style".. that gritty atmosphere.. I'm reinstalling GTA 5 right now and guess what I'm going to do? gonna spend some time with CodeWalker and, well, I'm going to bring back this goddamn f*cking awesome atmosphere from the 2011 trailer and those old GTA4-RDR-OLD_ERA screenshots. Going to start with the vegetations (and talking about being as accurate as possible) then will head out to the timecycles.

Ready for some new juicy content?

seems the Casino from recent update originally was supposed to have a vault (Perhaps originally you would rob it?) There's a minimap called vw_dlc_casino_vault however it looks like this, more over vwdlc_int_04.rpf is missing (03 is garage and 05 is car park)unknown.png

Tried to find these files in current GTAV build and these are nowhere to be found. Were they actually removed by Rockstar after releasing the casino robbery update?

no they weren´t.
it´s still in the files.
maybe you just looked wrong.
it´s inside a gfx file

and it has a weird number as the filename.
just extract int(number).gfx files form update.rpf/x64/patch/data/cdimages/scaleform_minimap.rpf and open them with jpexs until you find it.
but there is nothing really else in that file.

Ok, so this another one of my accidental and random discoveries. I was working on finally wrapping up my collosal GXT hash-resolving project since I've been slacking on that for far too long, and I found some half-unused dialogue that really got my attention.

----

A way to stealthily steal the van by disguising yourself as a police officer was cut.

This is the aforementioned half-unused dialogue. It appears that the contexts for it are still listed in the scripts, meaning I almost ended up completely missing that since I only check contexts that are not a part of the script... well good thing I caught it.

The unused dialogue essentially works an entirely alternative way to approach the mission. Normally, if you approach the warehouse (from either front or back), you will be intercepted by the foremen and they will have a short conversation with Michael and tell him to leave. However that unused dialogue instead has Michael posing as a police officer, with the foremen addressing him as so.

As previously mentioned, the contexts for those still exist in the scripts. They are ONLY played by the game if a variable's pointer is anything other than false. If it's false, it will play the normal civilian dialogue.

case joaat("ENT_FOOT"):
	if (func_279(*iParam0))
	{
		if (!iParam0->f_82)
		{
			if (func_256(iVar26))
			{
				if (!iParam0->f_83)
				{
					Var27 = { func_278(iVar26, "JS_ENT_F1") };
					func_253(iVar26, &Var27, iParam0->f_5, 1, 0, 0, 500, 0, 0, 0);
				}
				else
				{
					Var27 = { func_278(iVar26, "JS_ENT_F1_P") };
					func_253(iVar26, &Var27, iParam0->f_5, 1, 0, 0, 500, 0, 0, 0);
				}
			}

				func_253(iVar26, &Var27, iParam0->f_5, 1, 1, 0, 500, 0, 0, 0);
			}
			else
			{
				Var27 = { func_278(iVar26, "JS_ENT_F2_P") };
				func_253(iVar26, &Var27, iParam0->f_5, 1, 1, 0, 500, 0, 0, 0);
			}
		}
		iParam0->f_82 = 1;
	}
	else if (func_48() && (MISC::GET_GAME_TIMER() - iLocal_2549) > 5000)
	{

			{
				Var27 = { func_278(iVar26, "JS_ENT_F") };

				func_253(iVar26, &Var27, iParam0->f_5, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0);
			}
		}
	}
	break;

The game never does anything with iParam0->f_83 so it's impossible to trigger that dialogue even if you wear the full outfit. There was probably originally a lot more functions and variables for the entire officer approach. To clear up possible misunderstandings as well, func_278 determines which side of the the warehouse you're on. If you're at the rear, the game will append "B" to the end of the context string. Then func_253 will play the dialogue if the right (location/action) conditions are met.

Some voicelines and subtitles are exclusive to Xbox 360 and PS3, but I have restored them into the PC version AND played them in the mission in the video at the end of this post.

You could return the van for the laughs

Remember GTAIV, and all the missions where you can freely f*ck around and even get a reaction out of the mission peds? Well, this would have certainly brought back that feel. You could bring the stolen van back to the warehouse and, depending on how you stole it in the first place, you would get the appropriate dialogue. Not just that, if you came back on foot, they would comment about that as well!

I guess that explains why the peds and other vans don't despawn after driving a short distance like they do in most other missions.

Have someone bought this book?

https://www.instagram.com/p/CbiulFuvZIe/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

I think it may be the closest thing we will ever get from a GTA V behind the scenes, and may contain interesting stuff.

edit: Idk why this white background appeared on the last sentence.

edit2: He has deleted the image. But it was a page from the book "game changer" from solo118. That's the book that I was talking about.

I tried to remove this white background from the sentence.

I took this screenshot of Michael Hollick's YouTube channel back in 2017. The channel has been deleted for a long time (afaik) and I don't remember this ever being mentioned here. Seems he had actually done voice work for GTA V before whatever he was set to do got scrapped.

spacer.png

Makes sense considering there was a Lazlow interview (from around 2012 I think?) Where he mentioned they still were working with Hollick.

"Rockstar did an update and took it out" is not true though as Niko was never in the game, so it might be another one of those really badly told stories like the whole pay thing he complained about in 2008. He made a lot of drama about not being paid enough to voice Niko in 2008 and then would work with R* again for V? Suspicious.

No idea. It really was his channel though as I remember it having a couple of home videos of him and his family - and some strange (I think unofficial?) Doritos commercial that he was in. There may still be a Wayback Machine capture of it

Edit: found the link to his channel and that Doritos commercial I talked about (as I had shared it with somebody when it was still up) and no dice. Seems I was not the only person discussing this YouTube channel though.

People were saying it was fake - which it admittedly could be, but the way his channel description was written is quite similar to the way his tweets are written. Not to mention how this channel would've gotten those home videos - unless someone did some discerningly thorough detective work on him and his family.

Those Michael Hollick accounts are 100% fake. If I remember right, the only real social media account he's ever had was on myspace. He uploaded a couple of original songs on there which were purged when they overhauled the site sometime around 2012.

Are you confusing Michael Hollick, Niko's actor with Michael Hunter, the soundtrack composer? :p

No! Michael Hollick was (is?) also a singer and has a few original songs, his MySpace was devoted to his music stuff but he did have some Niko stuff on there. We used one of his songs as the basis for a YeardleyDiamond (R.I.P) video to help him learn lip syncing.

I found a couple of unused lines from the Mr. Philips Mission for if you kill Terry & Clay, 2 for each character and 4 lines for which i presume would of been used for either of the two. There was also a (very) short conversation between Terry & Clay when Trevor arrives, Terry just asks Who's this and Clay responds with "It's that dealer"

Spoiler

Apologies for the poor quality screenshots/colors.

~ Daddy's Little Girl ~

Same backstory as in Bugstar's Equipment post, except this find (and future ones relating to 7th gen-exclusive leftovers) stems from that accidental discovery. For this mission I will only cover dialogue left over on 7th Generation consoles (PS3/X360), since at the time I resolved GXT names for it wayyyyy back, either there were no other leftovers or I forgot to track the unused stuff.

----

Jimmy would comment on the bike you choose.

A cute little detail what would have added a tiny tiny bit more variety to the mission. Depending on which bike you picked to race Jimmy on, he would pick from two different lines to comment on your choice.

Spoiler
~Picking the BMX~
FAM2_BMX_01 = ~z~Can I beat a BMX? Mmm. I think I probably can.
FAM2_BMX_02 = ~z~Ohh. Beating the old man on the BMX is going to be soooo difficult.

~Picking the Cruiser~
FAM2_CRU_01 = ~z~It's a fair race, pop. We're both on Cruisers.
FAM2_CRU_02 = ~z~We got the same bike, so it's all on us. Mano a mano.

~Picking the Scorcher~
FAM2_SCO_01 = ~z~Uhh, good luck beating me on that whack-ass bike.
FAM2_SCO_02 = ~z~You were beat the moment you chose that whack bike, popsicle.

~Picking the Triathlon Bike (Whippet Race Bike)~
FAM2_TRI_01 = ~z~Oh. You only went and chose the fastest bike they got. Great.
FAM2_TRI_02 = ~z~Considering you're on their best bike, I deserve something like awesome when I beat you.

----

Michael and Jimmy had two different conversations where they abuse eachother.

The final game only has constantly-repeating one-liners, that, sometimes, may or may not form a basic "conversation". Anyway, most of the abusing is from Michael's side. And, speaking of Michael's side, so is the audio. For some reason every last voice line of Jimmy from those conversations was deleted, while all of Michael's remained. So, in the video below, to keep the subtitles on screen a bit longer and to make the conversations easier to follow, I inserted text-to-speech audio in place of the missing lines. In case it's not clear yet, text to speech audio is not a real leftover and I put it there to extend subtitle duration and to make the conversation easier to follow. Willing to bet some will still get confused and comment "lol r* gave Jimmy robot female voice" despite the warnings plastered everywhere.

It seems that only the subtitles for the first part of the first variation were deleted. There is Michael's audio, FAM2_BRAB_01 and FAM2_BRAD_01, while FAM2_BRAA_01 and FAM2_BRAC_01 are both missing, so we can only wonder what the conversation was about. On the bright side, though, Michael has the last line and it nicely leads into the second part of the conversation, so there's that.

Spoiler
~ Possible first part to the conversation - transcribed by me as there's no subtitles for it~
FAM2_BRAA_01 missing
FAM2_BRAB_01 (audio) = We've been through that!
FAM2_BRAC_01 missing
FAM2_BRAD_01 (audio) = It hadn't been fluffed. Don't make jokes about the dead.

~ rest of the first conversation variation ~
FAM2_RACE2_1 = ~z~If you speed up, you might have a coronary, and I can make jokes about you.
FAM2_RACE2_2 = ~z~Hey, fatso. It ain't me who likely to have a coronary.
FAM2_RACE2_3 = ~z~'Fatso', that's great. Ten points for parenting.

FAM2_RACE3_1 = ~z~I get parenting points for not drowning you in the sea.
FAM2_RACE3_2 = ~z~If you can catch me, you can drown me.
FAM2_RACE3_3 = ~z~Ahh, you'd just float.
FAM2_RACE3_4 = ~z~This, dear Dad, is why I've got a complex about my weight. It's why I don't get out much.
FAM2_RACE3_5 = ~z~I didn't mean it like that... but, it's just, it's just... because I care.
FAM2_RACE3_6 = ~z~Oh yes, you were calling me a lazy fat sh*t the nice way, concerned way! Anyway, I'd rather be fat than old.
FAM2_RACE3_7 = ~z~If you don't start looking after yourself, you'll be both.

FAM2_RACE4_1 = ~z~At least you won't be around to see it!
FAM2_RACE4_2 = ~z~Oh yeah? And where am I going to be?
FAM2_RACE4_3 = ~z~Prison? Shot by the cops? Shot by the cops in prison? Take your pick.
FAM2_RACE4_4 = ~z~Oh, I'll stay ahead of the law, believe me. If not just to see you become the man I know you can be.
FAM2_RACE4_5 = ~z~All four hundred pounds of him.

FAM2_RACE5_1 = ~z~The second I can afford it, I'm moving out of your house.
FAM2_RACE5_2 = ~z~Please, please, please, follow through with that threat. Please!
FAM2_RACE5_3 = ~z~It's blood money. I don't want it no more. It sickens me.
FAM2_RACE5_4 = ~z~Great. I'll cancel your allowance.
FAM2_RACE5_5 = ~z~Umm. Maybe in like a month or two's time, if that's cool?
FAM2_RACE5_6 = ~z~Yeah, I knew you'd crack.

~ Second variation of the conversation ~
FAM2_RACEB1_1 = ~z~If I pedal really fast I'll either pass out, or I'll get to the finish. Either way this will be over.
FAM2_RACEB1_2 = ~z~Hey, hey, hey, wait up.
FAM2_RACEB1_3 = ~z~If you wanted to stay together, you should have rented a tandem.
FAM2_RACEB1_4 = ~z~Well, maybe I will next time.

FAM2_RACEB2_1 = ~z~If my friends saw me on a two man bicycle with you...
FAM2_RACEB2_2 = ~z~Your friends don't even know what you look like. They're all in that box under the TV.
FAM2_RACEB2_3 = ~z~Better a box under the TV, than under six feet of dirt with a couple of your bullets in their skull.
FAM2_RACEB2_4 = ~z~Hey, we're in public!

FAM2_RACEB3_1 = ~z~It's Vespucci Beach! They're too crazy to care that you kill people for fun.
FAM2_RACEB3_2 = ~z~Ladies and gentlemen. My dad the murderer!
FAM2_RACEB3_3 = ~z~Hey, my therapist lives near here!
FAM2_RACEB3_4 = ~z~Then go have session. Heck, have a lobotomy.
FAM2_RACEB3_5 = ~z~They don't do those no more.
FAM2_RACEB3_6 = ~z~Maybe they'll make an exception for you.
FAM2_RACEB3_7 = ~z~Oh, I'll have one, if you have a gastric band.
FAM2_RACEB3_8 = ~z~You mean I'll be thin and you'll be a vegetable? Where do I sign?
FAM2_RACEB3_9 = ~z~Smug little prick.
FAM2_RACEB3_10 = ~z~I love you, too, Pops! I love it when you're rude about my weight and undermine me all the time.

Yeah, I think I don't need to explain just why those conversations might have gotten cut.

----

Tracey had even more things to complain about.

Just more of Tracey being Tracey, in all of her ear-grating screaming voice. Not sure where that would fit, but since she seems really upset about Michael stealing the Seashark, it was probably played while the yacht dudes are alive.

Spoiler
~ Part 1 ~
FAM2_JSKI1_1 = ~z~What is wrong with you?
FAM2_JSKI1_3 = ~z~I'm your father, that's what's wrong with me.
FAM2_JSKI1_5 = ~z~You're just going to steal their Seashark? That's not cool, Michael.
FAM2_JSKI1_7 = ~z~Yeah, I'll cut them a check when we get home.
FAM2_JSKI1_9 = ~z~That's the answer for everything, isn't it?
FAM2_JSKI1_11 = ~z~Cut another f*cking check and get everyone to just leave you alone.
FAM2_JSKI1_13 = ~z~Be quiet.
FAM2_JSKI1_15 = ~z~You know, I wish I was in a porno.
FAM2_JSKI1_17 = ~z~I wish you'd walked in on me taking it in every hole.
FAM2_JSKI1_19 = ~z~Hey, there's lines, Tracey, and you just crossed every one of them!
FAM2_JSKI1_21 = ~z~How did you even know where I was?
FAM2_JSKI1_23 = ~z~Your brother told me. You should be grateful to him.
FAM2_JSKI1_25 = ~z~Oh, I'll show him f*cking grateful. Turd.
FAM2_JSKI1_27 = ~z~You know, I gotta tell ya, being a parent ain't easy.
FAM2_JSKI1_29 = ~z~Being a parent might be tough, but you seem to find being a psychopath
FAM2_JSKI1_31 = ~z~and an embarassment easy enough!

~ Part 2 ~
FAM2_JSKI2_1 = ~z~This is the worst day of my life!
FAM2_JSKI2_3 = ~z~Did you, Tracey...? Did they...? I mean do they have, uhh, compromising footage? I can get a lawyer...
FAM2_JSKI2_4 = ~z~Ewww. Of course they don't. Is that what you think of me?
FAM2_JSKI2_6 = ~z~No, of course not. It's just, young people, they can do some stupid things.
FAM2_JSKI2_8 = ~z~Well, if today is anything to go by,
FAM2_JSKI2_9 = ~z~old people can do some seriously f*cking stupid things too!
FAM2_JSKI2_11 = ~z~Hey, I was just looking out for you!
FAM2_JSKI2_13 = ~z~Oh, you were... are... embarrassing me.
FAM2_JSKI2_15 = ~z~And you just stole a Seashark from my friends.
FAM2_JSKI2_17 = ~z~Well you shouldn't have friends like that. The guy... in the.... tight trunks.
FAM2_JSKI2_19 = ~z~Porno guys are actually, like, the cleanest guys out there STD-wise
FAM2_JSKI2_21 = ~z~so you should, like, be f*cking psyched
FAM2_JSKI2_23 = ~z~that I hang with porno dudes instead of, like, musicians or finance guys.
FAM2_JSKI2_25 = ~z~Sure. Yeah. Totally f*cking psyched. Yeah.

And here's all of it played in game:

Luke was nobody before V after that hes only career is because of that game he still one liner and plays and making money on video post cards for 50 bucks
the only ones who truly don't care anymore and just did they're jobs were Johnny's and Luis' voice actors and sort of steven ogg

being honest a zombie dlc hit a lot of sony games that rockstar although it is undead nightmare but well
