Edit the files, all of those textures are taken from interiors, some have different UV Map so its bit trickier to get it working well

Call me - call me
No time to hesitate - we must communicate
Call me - call me
Won't you call this number now

Sorry, couldn't help it, played too much VC lately. But it still gives an idea what this is about, so.

Anyway, to celebrate 5 years of GTA V, this is a very small post regarding phone contacts and non-main mission calls.

First off, voicemails! The recent discovery of Niko having three unused voicemails brought me here. Some of those are known about already, but posting them for completeness' sake.
ANSWERPHONE (ANAUD)
Voicemail for Al Carter (Lost MC boss) -- has audio leftovers, ANSPH_CTAA_01

ANS_LBUSY_1 = ~z~This is Al - I ain't available. Call back another time.

Call 346-555-0109 to listen to it.

Voicemail for Edgar Claros (Vagos boss) -- has audio leftovers, ANSPH_CRAA_01

ANS_VBUSY_1 = ~z~This is Edgar, call back some other time.

Call 611-555-0146 to listen to it.

Voicemail for Ron -- has audio leftovers

ANS_RBUSY_1 = ~z~This is Ron J. I'm afraid I can't come to the phone right now. Call back another time.

I didn't see it in the script, so I assume it's unused. Supposed to be for the Online Ron contact.

Voicemail for an unknown character -- no audio remains

ARI_APH1_1 = ~z~Hey, what's up? I'm too busy to take your call right now...

Alternate voicemail for Lester -- no audio remains

LES_APH1_1 = ~z~I'm not in. Please call back later.

Note that his actual voicemail is "LES_APH2", so this suggests that he would change his voicemail like several other characters. The number for this voicemail is 346-555-0160 but it redirects to his actual number & voicemail (and it's 346-555-0102). From what I seen in the scripts, this is actually the contact for "Deathwish Lester", one you call when you're making the decision. Could it have been call-able at any time and Lester would not pick up sometimes and give you this line? Who knows.

Voicemail for Michael(?) -- no audio remains

MIC_APH1_1 = ~z~Unable to take your call. If it's important, I'll get back to you.

Michael's number is 328-555-0108, but it returns busy, obviously.

Voicemail for Kyle P Slater -- has audio leftovers, ANSPH_CGAA_01 and ANSPH_CGAB_01

MIL_APH1_1 = ~z~You've reached First Lieutenant Kyle P Slater. Leave the where, the when
MIL_APH1_2 = ~z~and the how after the tone.

Call 328-555-0145 to listen to it.

Voicemail for Epsilon Tom -- has audio leftovers

TOM_APH1_1 = ~z~The tract has not yet been written, yet it has been.
TOM_APH1_2 = ~z~Just as this conversation has not yet happened, yet it has.
TOM_APH1_3 = ~z~So leave a message or visit www.epsilonprogam.com
TOM_APH1_4 = ~z~to make an investment in yourself. Kifflom.

Doesn't even have a phone number though.

Voicemail for Trevor(?) -- no audio remains

TRE_APH1_1 = ~z~Sorry, I ain't here right now. Try again soon.

Trevor's number is 273-555-0136, but it returns busy, obviously.

The reason why the protagonists have a question mark is because Franklin doesn't have any leftover voicemails. Either;

  • These aren't for Michael and Trevor.
  • These were removed so early Franklin's was gone and forgotten about, or not even made in the first place.
  • These would play if you tried to call either of them after they were killed (most plausible imo).

Also unrelated, but Chop has a phone number lmao
It's 541-318-3135, but it doesn't display his picture (below, same picture is used for his subtitles in the pause menu) or name and just returns busy. Maybe if he were somehow added to Franklin's contacts.
eG8GdQB.png

Now, onto calls, here's a few. Note, mission-specific calls aren't included here, just ambient and side-mission calls. There's a lot and they're better suited for individual mission posts.

Unused call between Michael and Trevor, while Michael was on his pilgrimage, according to the conversation it played at 3 miles completed. Must have been removed early given the double spaces in some lines. I assume it was removed so that people don't confuse it with a story mission since you never get called by the protagonists in freeroam as far as I know.

EPSILON DESERT (EPSDAUD) - MICHAEL & TREVOR (EPSD_TREV_1-8)
Michael: Kifflom.
Trevor: What? Where the hell are you?
Michael: Somewhere in the desert. I'm on, er, a journey.
Trevor: A large of amount of peyote and ketamine kind of journey?
Michael: No, more of a "search for truth" kind of journey. A test. It's a long story.
Trevor: Truth? You've spent the last 10 years failing that test, my friend.
Michael: Look, I've got to keep moving, T. Just two more miles to go.
Trevor: And you call me crazy.

(see video, basically)

While according to the script this call is used in game, for some reason it's in the text files for "Car Steal" mission strand, and not even prefixed the way it should be (which has been wrecking my head trying to crack it)!

CAR STEAL (CSFLAUD) - FRANKLIN & LAMAR (LAM_06_1-13)
Lamar: Eh, homie.
Franklin: Eh wassup dog. I thought you should know, man. Stretch is dead.
Lamar: He a OG.
Franklin: A OG? Man, that nigga tried to set us up to get clapped, nigga. And he tried to get us sold a brick of dry wall.
Franklin: He a dangerous motherf*cker, man, now he gone.
Lamar: Probably for the best, homie. But I sure am lucky to have a cold-ass motherf*cker like you to make them decisions, nigga.
Franklin: Yeah, you are, nigga.

The call with Simeon about you wrecking the car has a slight inconsistency. Basically, it's in two different text files, one is used, the other isn't.

CHAT CALLS (CHATCAU) - FRANKLIN & SIMEON (CHATC_SIM_1-4)
Franklin: What's going down, Simeon?
Simeon: Franklin, I must ask you, the last car you reposessed, it was in a terrible state. Was that how you found it?
Franklin: Uhh, yeah, man. The dude wrecked it.
Simeon: That is all I need to know for the insurance men. Come to the dealership, I have something to show you.

The final version of the call only changes the first line, however Franklin's voice audio still says "Simeon" (yes, beta hunting can double as QA :p):

ARFL_CALL_CT_1 = ~z~What's going down?

Now the question, which came first?

A completely removed call. Don't know what it would have been. The script says it was going to be requested from "DIVEAU" text file, using the "DIVE_PHONE" context. Seems to be one of the very rare cases where the script has unused/removed content. This was probably a call during a side mission (related to diving? wild guess) as the subtitle context for the sonar collection mission is "SONAR_PHONE", and as a matter of fact is directly below the aforementioned removed call.

Unused phonecall from Oscar, while Michael and Trevor are exiled from the city.

EXILE (EXILAUD) - TREVOR & OSCAR (EXIL_OSCAR_1-9)
Trevor: Oscar! To what I do owe the honor?
Oscar: What's this about you beefing with Martin Madrazo?
Oscar: If he connects us, we're finished. In every sense, man.
Trevor: Nothing to worry about, my paranoid friend, it's all under control.
Oscar: If you say so. Watch out, okay?

Also during the exile, with Trevor and Lamar. Looking at the second line, it must have been removed early. Also the call starts as if the beginning was cut off, might have been a part of a switch scene or Rockstar just somehow ended up partially removing it.

EXILE (EXILAUD) - TREVOR & LAMAR (EXIL_LAM17_1-7)
Lamar: Well, I ain't surprised. I heard some funny stories about some dude pinching a really nasty Mexican's dude wife,
Lamar: and im thinking to myself, maybe thats my man Trevor.
Trevor: I have no idea what you're talking about...
Lamar: Sure, bro... sure. You call me when you back in town.

If anyone's wondering why only the Epsilon Trevor call has a video is because
-I'm lazy.
-Getting the call was a pain since I needed to jump through idiotically large amount of hoops trying to play it correctly.
-I'm lazy.
But if there's demand I guess I can torture myself some more trying to get the other calls in-game.

That's all... for now.

The epsilon call makes me wonder now where it should fit in the main story chronology. I've always wondered where/when the S&F missions fit in the storyline.

I want to say the epsilon missions take place during the Exile act, but considering most take place in LS, it doesn't work.

When I play the story mode from the beginning I usually will do the Epilison missions after the Jewelry store heist. It right after Trevor and Michael meet again and the mission 'Did someone say yoga?' Because Michael is in a vulnerable position and knowing his family just left him he's seeking answering. So he seeks the Epilisonists...

HeySlickThatsMe

So, you guys know how the unused Arresting animations for beta GTA Online still exist in the game files? Well quite some time ago i found out that the Camera animations are still there... so with some scripting magic - tada!

At one point of development, the Super Diamond used exactly the same design as in TBoGT (including rims).

Just like several cars that were introduced in the stock (old-gen/without any DLC's) GTA V, the Blista didn't have the Dinka badge on its grill.

That first screenshot looks SO early in development. You can tell by how unpolished and barren the desert looks.

...Maybe it was that way back around 2009/2010?

I like to think back then, they had the basis of the Los Santos re-imagining built out (taking cues from San Andreas) before they went to Los Angeles in the summer of that year to do some research there. Then at the beginning of 2011, they had the fictitious website domain names registered meaning they changed up Los Santos completely by then and had the plot/characters all detailed out.

I saw something related to domains but I don't remember. Can you tell me what are the domains? About the characters, I remember the "Rush" casting call that has different names for the characters in GTA V.

Hey guys, i managed to restore the "total switches" stat that shows how many times you switched characters during the whole game.

The stat doesn't have a name anymore.

And i made it as a character stat.

So you can see how many times you switched to what character.

Result:

Trevor: 215

Michael: 220

Franklin: 168

hey guys, i told you about the Total switches stat yesterday, there are in fact 2 stats, one for how many times you switched for example to Franklin and one for how many times you switched at all.

they don´t have names, but the bigger number is the combined number, and the lower number is the for how many times i switched to franklin.

(PS: don´t mind the store button prompt in this picture, it was just a commented out  dummy button.)

but here a picture:

Spoiler

And do you guys remember in Previews that said that in the Amunation was a button prompt for the Store?

it was just commented out.

Wait, so does this mean that Strech was killed a lot earlier in the story than the final mission?

They replaced the existing ones though, but sure, you can add the clothing as new without replacing (Except that the shops won't show them, unless there's some way)

Took the unused Collision from the Trial Stadium and made it a model (Ironically without the collision, can't get it working ingame, however i got the model itself working!)
The textures have been remade on their corresponding materials, i wasn't really sure what to choose for the ground so i decided to use the Sand

Saw this on Reddit:

Apparently, there are props in the game that don't spawn because their priority is too low... This person tried to restore them. Looks interesting.

Wow, that’s incredible. He mentions the .ymaps can be edited with a text editor. Is this true? I’ve never touched map files before.

Making me consider what he said, and just going through with the “Find and Replace” function and re-enabling all the “low priority” props. All I’m interested in is the missing props forgotten by Rockstar, not so much about the personal additions.
