Last Wednesday I found out that a cut vehicle, the RC Bandito, can have its sounds restored since the game still ties the unused rc motor audio with the model name. This also means any vehicle can have these sounds if you change the "audioNameHash" entry to "rcbandito" in vehicles.meta

 

I took some time to convert a Bandito from GTA SA into a "RC Bandito" in GTA V. Pretty sure that's not how it looked, but it's literally the best option we have atm. (If you want gameplay of it, skip to 1:30 in my video that's literally this post but slightly more detailed I think - and yeah, the sound is REALLY quiet).

It seems that RC vehicle functionality and races were pretty complete. Handling files still support a model flag called "RC" (Change 8th digit to 1 - keep in mind the game reads digits from right to left!). That model flag causes any ped model, player or NPC it doesn't matter, to disappear as soon as they enter the vehicle with that flag enabled. Which is nice, you don't need scripts or any other shenanigans to hide the model while driving an RC car.

 

There's also an unused vehicle camera type - "FOLLOW_RC_CAMERA" for, well, RC vehicles. It affects the third person view - it's at a slightly lower angle at a slightly longer distance compared to the standard vehicle camera.

 

On top of all that stuff, (2 days before) I found out that the game had at least 3 "RC Checkpoint" Random Events cut from the game. There were going to be 3 locations where the event would start, I placed an RC Bandito at those coordinates. Those coordinates can be found in "ambient.ipl" in "common.rpf\data\levels\gta5".

The second one is in Sandy Shores, between the town and the Beam Me Up art hill thing. For some reason the coordinate is underground (wonder if the terrain changed 🤔).

No idea what they were. They could have been either RC vehicle checkpoint races, a time trial for RC vehicles, or a simple "collect all checkpoints before time runs out" challenge.

 

Interestingly enough, the good old missions.xml also mentions RC stuff, except here it's called "RC Challenge Mode", the script name is different too, and apparently you would play those as Michael.

Some things I found

* Firefighter model for Trevor (In-Game Files)

* The Elegy RH8 called ingame "elegy2" probably the elegy retro classic or just Elegy was in the beta (In-Game Files)

* The lightbar of the Sheriff SUV was brighter and the colours were swapped like the Sheriff Cruiser (Screenshot)

* Probably, Police Officers were able to remove their gun, which is in the holster if they draw the gun. Because there are models of a weapon belt WITH the weapon and WITHOUT the weapon. Nearly every Police Officer, Sheriff etc. has these two models. (In-Game Files)

* As you said vigilante missions but also the police computer was cut (seen in the PS3 Files)

All of those are really old finds, but thanks for your input.

the new artwork the the tale of us dj's for gta online could possibly have the background of a cut artwork. we all know rockstar loves to re use things for gta online especially singeplayer dlc stuff. so i think that judging by the time of day of the artwork and where the artwork is at that this artwork could possibly be a cut artwork featuring cletus fa77a6d49e3528bb1da4b95ee3e86ecb1180b399 the time of day is around the exact same time cletus missions take palce and two cletus missions out of 3 take place in this area. and also doesn't it jus look a little out of place to see 2 dj's in a desert where there are no nightclubs? i mean yes they could be going for a certain "look" to describe them but i mean jus look at it

Nice theory obviously meant for Cletus but not really beta stuff

its beta because i believe that it is a old artwork before the game released that they used for cletus. because believe me rockstar has TONS of unreleased artwork

But again, it's NOT Beta, it's just re-purposed unreleased artwork, as you said Rockstar sit on a LOT of art that never gets shown, so here it'd just be the case of opening up the project file, removing the character layer which would be cletus, and then just adding these over it instead, which you can tell because the art style between them is a little different.

yeah. i think there was a miss communication error cause i was implying that the background was for cletus and that it is technically beta because it was meant for gta v. so the background is beta and meant for a unreleased (beta) cletus artwork. cause from what ur saying ur saying that something modified that wasn't released and turned into something new really isn't beta. if that was the case then the hunter being re added isn't beta because it has different type of guns or that its re purposed for gta online with more weapons and sh*t. i'm not trying to sound rude here.

If it wasn't released we have no proof it was ever meant to appear in the loading screen (only way it could be considered Beta) so it isn't considered beta IMO.

is there any way to spawn in-game sharm.job's safe room? there are \x64a.rpf\levels\gta5\destruction\interior\des_ranchsafe.ymt and other files from the room with safe. how it's not in interiors mods yet..

I tried to make the carwash use some of those a while back but all that happened is the vehicle reversed out and attempted to gravitate towards Madrazo's. Had no way to make the players use those either. Would probably need a custom script to load any of these. It'd be interesting to see those in-game.

 

I did however manage to get one of the horse paths (vehicle records, not the same as the above waypoint records) by making the Caida Libre plane use them a year ago.

oh, did you know that there are cutscenes of TV shows and fame or shame episodes? \x64c.rpf\anim\cutscene\cuts_fame_or_shame.rpf\   and \x64c.rpf\anim\cutscene\cuts_tv.rpf\ there are may be that parts with horses, it may help somehow
