Is that icon next to the internet icon used anywhere?

Is that icon also above Snapmatic and under Trackify used anywhere as well?

Theres icons near Snapmatic that are never used ingame (One looks like a GPS, another like a scope, other one is a..."factory reset" icon? And the other one is a "!" icon ive seen on Michael's phone once

Camera (originally there would be no Snapmatic?), Chat/Messages, Trackify, Mail, Contacts, ?, Internet, Some minigame?, Remote something?, ???, Add contact, Quick Job, ???, ???, Snapmatic, GPS (Looks like the icon next to Internet, with arrows and a route), Upload something?, ???, Quick Save, Scope?, "!" Icon, "Factory Reset"?, Settings

 

 

 

 

Trevor's phone

Trevor has the "scope" icon, "!" icon and the Trackify icons. In story mode, Trackify app is never used by Trevor, at least in the missions, is it used in any Strangers and Freaks? I have never seen Trevor use it.

I don't play Online much.

 

 

Sorry for my horrible english...

-Trackify is used by all 3 characters, depends on who actually buys the Sonar Collections Dock.

-That "!" icon appears when you refuse to answer a call but have to answer it - I had this icon a few times when I was refusing to pick up calls from Downtown Cab Co. It replaces the Contact List icon, and puts the contact on top of the list with an ! (if I remember correctly, I know it was marked somehow), until you finally pick up. I can't consistently get that icon, it seems to be random when it appears.

-VLSI is Lester's hacking program, used only in Fleeca Job in GTA Online.

-The "Quick Job" you're referring to is actually the Job List.

-The variation of Job List with an X is the Progress Checklist - you can get that if you move back in time to between September 17, 2013 and October 1, 2013... or just play without internet connection.

-Scope is probably the cut "Sniper App" that was going to be used in Caida Libre.

-Those 3 people is the Quick Job in GTA Online.

-Wi-Fi symbol is the Sightseer App used during Sightseer mission in GTA Online.

What about the "factory reset" ones (It's an arrow for Trevor, a update icon with infinite symbol in middle for Franklin and again arrow for Michael)

 

I don't know what it is, but I definitely know that it wasn't a factory reset option.

Badger and Facade don't have 56-59. 54-55 were added in updates.

On last-gen 49-59 don't exist in unpatched version. 49-54 were added through updates.

 

XYZ seems to be missing (unless it's 58, because "xyz" and "tracker" kind of make sense). XYZ App has it's own code (only in iFruit phone), what it does is something I don't know. If I have to guess, it showed the player's current coordinates. I know that it was added in an update, though.

So the icons I thought were "factory reset" icons are for replaying missions, Zit from IV would be usable in V in beta, and missions would work like in IV (when u die u go 2 hospital and u can use ur phone to replay mission)

WAITWAITWAIT I FORGOT TO MENTION: ...and there was gonna be:

either no radar on bottom left & you could use "Eyefind Maps"

not very useful eyefind maps app, that is only used in one of T's missions (anti-spoiler)

Well, it does look like a Betamax tape, so that could explain the reason for the word "beta" appearing in the title. Still, I have no idea as to whether this prop appears in-game.

Badger and Facade don't have 56-59. 54-55 were added in updates.

On last-gen 49-59 don't exist in unpatched version. 49-54 were added through updates.

 

XYZ seems to be missing (unless it's 58, because "xyz" and "tracker" kind of make sense). XYZ App has it's own code (only in iFruit phone), what it does is something I don't know. If I have to guess, it showed the player's current coordinates. I know that it was added in an update, though.

So the icons I thought were "factory reset" icons are for replaying missions, Zit from IV would be usable in V in beta, and missions would work like in IV (when u die u go 2 hospital and u can use ur phone to replay mission)

WAITWAITWAIT I FORGOT TO MENTION: ...and there was gonna be:

either no radar on bottom left & you could use "Eyefind Maps"

not very useful eyefind maps app, that is only used in one of T's missions (anti-spoiler)

 

I'm guessing that the maps originally allowed to view map/set waypoints until it was scrapped because pause menu is more convenient and did the job before. There are 2 icons, one plain and one detailed so I guess the plain one would mean the map is inactive and the detailed one would mean the map is active/has a waypoint on. Same as the Sniper app, only Franklin has 2 icons which is yet another proof he did Caida Libre before (though it looks like he did everything by himself now).

 

"gang" is SecuroServ App in GTA Online

"sight_seer" is Sightseer App used during Sightseer to start hacking to reveal packages.

"broadcast" has probably to do something with R* Editor since that's not on last-gen and it kind of makes sense.

"cop_backup" is probably a leftover from the original GTA Online which worked as it does now but it was about cops and crooks - you could be a cop, Lost MC biker, or Vagos gang member. Cops could call in for backups, if I remember correctly. "gang_taxi" might have had something to do with cops and crooks too because of the "gang" part.

"multiplayer" might be the Job List in GTA Online since there doesn't seem to be anything else pointing to that.

Nice find, definitely unused. However, if this is in the update.rpf it could've been added at any time, so it could be beta or future. And I'm thinking future as most of the cut content is in the common/x64 packages, until R* started adding things via the update.rpf. There had to be a point in development where every new development was added in there, because update.rpf has the new pause menu/graphics settings, and common.rpf has the old ones.

That makes it much more interesting then. Looks like it was still going to be a thing for a patch but scrapped after final release.

FYI, icons with the "char_" prefix are also used for notifications.

So, when you receive notifications from Facebook in-game, that icon is displayed in the notification above the minimap.

That tape iirc if from the old GTA Online build where the entire multiplayer component was essentially Cops 'n' Crooks.

I wonder if each gang/faction (Vagos, Lost and LSPD) had their own phone model? I also found this:

Actually, I don't know if anyone's pointed this out but after replaying GTAV (I suggest you guys do the same :lol:), this holster is actually from "Mr. Richards".
