I never made it to IV's DLC nor did I play online. I recently sold all my 360 gear to include GTA for an XBOX ONE... so there is the end to V for me. Since I guess I am not a hardcore player and only usually play single player a couple times over before I get sick of it, I would say I liked IV and V about the same. IV for being that classic one person GTA mad man we all like to play as, and V for its innovative 3 person story line and all the new WHAT SHOULD BE NEXT GEN features they downsized for the 360 and PS3 (I consider that a graphics compliment.. but soley for old gen standards). The only complaint I have about GTA V... is that it was not released on next gen consoles ONLY! I do not care about rockstars business plan and do not want to hear it... As a game company, you make games for the people to the best or your capabilities, so why settle for outdated consoles? They were so close!! People will eventually upgrade and you would have had a much better and longer lasting game. **edit: I had to think about this and realized how impatient people are, which is why GTA V sold so well, and will be played for as long as people still have old gens. sad... but true. I consider RDR art in all honesty. Far cry 3 and sleeping dogs didn't have the budget or hype V did and they are still amazing games so for that reason I find it hard too rate V. If it didn't have the hype or gta name I would of been blown away with it but like it or not we all expect the best from rockstar every game they make is untouchable which is why gta v has got such an interesting reception since it's realise. It did a lot of things right no doubt it was a fun game but I expect more not because my hopes are too high but because rockstar said and I quote We are very proud to officially announce that Grand Theft Auto V is in full development.Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created.A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California. When I read that I translate it to say '' this game will be better than all open world games before it'' You can spin those comments but it's what they said..... and I personally wouldn't describe gta v with those words if anything i'd use those words to describe RDR......... so for that reason alone V's a disappointment.... to much hype for a game that delivered NOTHING that saints row, RDR, Sleeping dogs, Far cry 3 didn't... yes I even throw saints row into this discussion because like it or not their '' craziness'' is a new direction for an open world game even if you hate it you have to admit that ! I may not agree with what the OP saw as flaws, but the people saying "GTFO if you don't like the game" are honestly a thousand times worse. If you can't discuss, don't get in discussions. The reason people associate them is because R* spends a lot of effort on gta online using resources that could have been on V singleplayer. It seemed pretty serious to me (in the sense that it didn't seem like he was kidding at all). A lot of his posts seem to be filled with hate for GTAV. And its FINE that he hates it, its all opinion, but to come to a forum where people who like it want to discuss it and sh*t all over anyone who doesn't conform to his point of view is downright dickish.
