Jc_39a
On the weekdays I have school from 8:30 to 3:30 and on the weekends I'm free. I was wondering when is the best time to go for a run? Edited January 25, 2014 by Jc_39a

theadmiral
First thing in the morning in most circumstances. If you have trouble sleeping do it at night. Just watch out for weirdos! I AM SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO, BUT MY WEBCAM IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH.
RoadRunner71
I for one been thinking on starting running at the early mornings but, the fact that I normally don’t have wake up early, makes me always reconsider it and stay in bed...

Panz
I used to run at night, but it can mess with your sleep if you do it too close to bedtime. Your increased heart rate will stimulate your body and brain for hours, and it might mess with your sleep. The only good thing is that it can tire you out to the point that you pass out the second you hit your bed, but it can cause issues during the night. I'd say the morning, but I'm also keen on running during the late afternoon. It's a nice little workout in the middle of the day and really helps me to relax later on in the night. Actually there's some contradictory information concerning that, 1-2 hours before bed is fine for most people. For me I work out about that time before bed and I find i fall asleep very very quickly, if I work out earlier I find it takes longer for me to sleep. I am a fit person however so my heart rate returns to normal quite quickly. I sleep for about the same amount of time and feel just as refreshed the next day either way. EphemeralStar
When you wake up. If you have a schedule where you normally wake up early and are used to waking up early that's great too. Or if you're like me and enjoy sleeping in just do it when you wake up! I think it's really enjoyable to run when the sun is up and it's bright out. I used to jog at night but it's too dangerous now with all the rapes and sexual assaults going on in my area lately.
Osho
Early morning walks are better than running otherwise you may feel tired, kind of stitch, (esp. If you plan a weekend trip or hang out) or at least need to eat before you run, in turn, will require to rise early and snack before you start running. Jogging is still good early morning. I prefer evening (not nights) for running as it's convenient, relaxing and ideally, you will go to bed early.
lil weasel
1000 to 1130 and 1300 to 1500 when there isn't much traffic and you can easily be seen. I usually go for a run around 4:00/5:00 when it's sunset, particularly because I run on the boardwalk and the sunset is beautiful. Temperature's cold, but I just wear a good layer or two to keep myself warm. Oh and I'm running. Morning is a great time to run as well.
