Journey_95
Definitely excited for the game, hope the story is good and there are meaningful side quests. Can't wait for the reviews and player opinions as I'm still sceptical. I think it will either be a big hit or a massive flop. Let's hope it's the first option. The combat reminds me a bit of For Honor but I only played the trial of that game.My big concern is, will the open world really be good enough to just freeroam in, do stuff, dynamic events, side activities and good feeling of exploration? I want an RPG that can compete with games like Skyrim, not something that I put down after the credits roll. Story choices are great, but I also want to do my own thing in the world. I'd really love a good RPG sandbox. A Skyrim esque is exactly what I don't want, just lazy generic side quests repeated again and again. I want some well crafted one's like in TW3. Themanwiththeplan
Not long until release now! I can't wait. I normally don't preorder games but I had to preorder this one just so that it will be fully downloaded and ready to play as soon as it unlocks. I also didn't realise it has ties to Mafia 1, thats a good thing as that was one of my favourite games back in the day.
chronic lumbago
Even if the reviews are good, I'll have to pass for now. Once I clean up my backlog, get tired of Fallout again, make room for a new big RPG and have some gaming monies, then I'm going to buy it.

NeonDolphin
Don't see any better RPG this year. Looks great. No season passes, no DRM, not even planned DLCs for now. Must buy on day 1 or even pre-order. Not your typical Ubisoft/EA/Activision/Bethesda pre-order burn. Am Shaegar
DexMacLeod
This is my first time preordering a digital game and downloading it before release. Just wondering if anyone knows if that massive Day One patch is cooked into what I'm downloading now or if I'll have to wait to get it until the game officially releases in a couple hours? It's weird because sites are reporting a 24gb patch but I'm downloading the "full game" and it's 21.75gb. I'm on the Xbox by the way.

You'll have to download the patch after you finish installing the game. From what I read what the patch fixes, it's definitely worth the wait for the patch to download. It it's current state, the game should never have been released. Controls are sluggish, textures a mess and AI is poor. No open world feel nor freedom. Everything feels constraint, with much emphasis on making the player's life hard and miserable. Lock picking is a joke, archery is a joke and even fights are a joke... there is no elegance or finesse involved: block, stab and try getting away from enemies who are literally glued to you. Should you believe this a medieval variant of Skyrim, be assured it is not. What a wasted opportunity for this game studio. And what a waste of money for me. Seems it is a hate it or love it kind of game. Edited February 13, 2018 by fashion

Coin
Seems it is a hate it or love it kind of game. It's definitely a problematic launch in terms of how buggy it is so far but anyone who expected a Medieval Skyrim is bound to be disappointed because KC:D was never going to be that game nor did it portray itself as such. rtie
Fireman
Yeah the unplayability is quite a big thing. I mean most people probably haven't been able to properly play the game yet in this state. Any current opinion makes no sense.
chronic lumbago
It's odd considering their Q&A, where they clearly stated it will be solid 30fps at launch on standard consoles. Empty promises. A shame the technical issues are basically taking over the reviews and thoughts. They're a big deal. Hope it will be worth getting in a few months. My love it or hate it comment was considering the different opinions of players. Game gets a lot of 8s or 9s but also many 5s and 6s. Technical issues aside, some people are into it and others not from what I've read. Edited February 13, 2018 by fashion

Richard Power Colt
Haven't looked too much into this game, but from the little information I've heard it really seems like the type of thing I'd enjoy. I like games with a lot of freedom when it comes to gameplay as well as a good narrative and immersion. Probably gonna wait for them to fix the technical issues first tho. DexMacLeod
I'm playing version 1.1 on the Xbox and haven't really noticed any bugs. Certainly not anything to deem it "unplayable". I'm not too far in but I'm liking the atmosphere so far. There's some awkward loading moments when you initiate dialogue with NPCs and combat's a little clunky so far but my only real complaint at this time is the control layout. You have to hold down B to run which makes it impossible to use the right joystick to look around. I feel I can get used to it in time but it just feels wrong. Am Shaegar and The N. Fireman
I'm playing on Steam and despite a lot of crashes at the start and some frame issues it's been really fun. I've done a couple of reloads to kill a soldier early and takes his stuff, now I got some nice armor and weapons early on, always good Am Shaegar

Plus it takes many hours until you can start free roaming. And at least my character seems to get hungry all the time even if he has just eaten. Even if it's too early to judge controls once and for all they do seem a bit clunky. Narrative on the other hand seems rather good so far.
Fireman
I was surprised with how big the difference in quality was compared to the beta, both voices, dialogue and storyline are quite a lot better than in the beta. There are a few miscasted voice actors still (such as the old guy that has the voice of a 25-year old), but it's decent! Am Shaegar

RyanBurnsRed
I'm liking it so far. The story definitely has my attention and I'm liking that the characters (especially Henry) look like actual human beings now. One thing that really annoys me though is how rough the game feels. I've seen really bad clipping on the clothes of NPCs, horrible lip syncing that either stops working completely or barely functions, stiff and unnatural facial animations in dialog, getting stuck on invisible walls on foot and horseback, and of course the random and huge framerate drops at times. They said many times that the last delay to make it a simultaneous release with consoles was going to be used for polish on the PC version and that the day 1 patch contains even more polish. I don't know about any of you, but I'm failing to see much of that polish they were talking about. Yes there are a lot of improvements from the beta, but in all honesty the released game right now feels like it still is the beta. Like I said liking it so far, but overall I'm a bit disappointed. Has the day 1 patch actually been released yet(on Steam)? Steam already came with the day 1 patch. Only the consoles had to download it separately. DexMacLeod
Xbox players...early impressions... Worth it? Wait for more patching? Wait for sale? Were you let down? How should I handle this game? I'm on xbox and enjoying it quite a bit. Haven't really noticed all the bugs people are talking about (maybe that's mostly PC players?) and I haven't had any framerate issues though I'm not all that sensitive to that sort of stuff. It's slow and it's frustratingly difficult at times but I kinda like that. The controls are a bit of a mess but that gets smoother and smoother the more I play. I think a lot of the difficulty for me might just be because this is the first RPG I've ever really gotten into. So I'm not just learning a new game but a whole new genre. Also I've read it's a bit more unforgiving than most. Lock picking might be legit impossible. I completely gave up on it once I learned that for every locked chest or door there's a person with a key who can be knocked out and looted. trip and Mister Pink
Themanwiththeplan
I'm playing on PS4 and the low frame rate is noticeable almost all of the time. Also I have had 2 or 3 crashes which normally wouldn't be so bad but in this game you can only save when you sleep or when you drink a special brew and the crashes I have had meant that I have had to go back about 30 minutes of gameplay and re-do a lot of things. I am also having an issue with combat, if I try to flee and successfully get away the game still thinks I am in combat and I'm unable to sleep/talk to anyone/progress the game until I die. So yeah, the game is fun but it really does need fixed. trip and Mister Pink
