Does Sony ban/suspend people for private message flaming?

I sent someone a private message via the PSN network calling them a fat cow after they cussed at me on the mic and booted me from their deathmatch. Am I likely to get suspended/banned? Or can I repeat this process whenever I feel like it?

You can't unless the messages you sent were death threats, racist etc but sony rarely does anything about this...only xbox is where I've heard people getting banned

They can report that message as griefing, but I don't know how serious Sony takes those....

Not been banned yet. I know a few guys who do it, none of us have been banned. Sometimes people need to hear this stuff anyway, it lets them know you are annoyed with them and need to hurt their feelings.

Yup. If you want more info, here's what happened.

 

Game 1

I'm playing prison thugs against some guy named Kingiforget and sfgiantsbabe. King runs me over with the bus but doesn't kill me. This happens a few times. He thinks I'm cheating because even though he hit me at a low speed, he thinks I should have died. He calls me a cheater. Then he hops out the of the bus and does the invincibility glitch ON ME to kill me. Then he says on the mic since I'm apparantly cheating he will too. That annoyed me. I sent him an in game text calling him a cheater pussy. I don't think Sony can get a record of that so I should be alright.

 

Game 2: King had left, but sfgiantsbabe stayed on. She started cussing at me because I was owning her and her whole team with the crowbar, despite us being outnumbered 3 to 4. We barely won 56 - 54 kills. She sends me a message telling me she is booting me for cheating. Then she boots me during the loading screen of the next deathmatch. She didn't realize that since I'm over level 120 it takes more melee hits to kill me than it does to her (she was level 40 or so). She also apparantly thinks me using the dodge button is me cheating. That's when I called her a cow, told her I'm reporting her for sucking, and told her she had a fat guy voice. She said some pleasantries to me as well.

I don't get angry over video games. I just enjoy typing out disgusting messages to people.

PSN doesn't have forums? I would ask them. I've reported a few messages I've gotten after a round of Bad Company 2 just to be a jerk. Went to the why I got banned thread and lo, persons were just sobbing," but he's a cheater". Doesn't matter. TOS doesn't allow for threats, etc. but fat cow. I wouldn't waste my time.

I would watch what you type. You might think it's funny. You do not own the network it is sent over so you can not claim first amendment rights. And if you say the wrong thing to the wrong person you can end up in jail. http://www.cnn.com/2013/07/02/tech/social-media/facebook-threat-carter/

I thought being suspended/banned from the PSN prevents you from playing games online, including GTAO?

I like it when players compliment their opponents before or after a match, in this case, I wouldn't worry about getting in trouble, only a very few would misunderstand the meaning

Yeah this happened to me. I don't send nasty stuff because it takes too long to type out. It was a weird glitch where I couldn't do anything involving messages. It might have not even been a ban just a glitch. I'm just saying it can happen.

SONY can & did it before, but only for some a time. I don't know about permanent bans.
