How online lobbies should work

When you join a match through your phone or quick-join, the 9 selections after that match should be the same as what you quick-joined.

 

So,

 

When I hit "join random" - the matchmaking stays the same

 

When I hit "join race" - that lobby is dedicated to races, all 9 selections are races

 

When I hit "join deathmatch" - that lobby is dedicated to deathmatches, all 9 selections are deathmatches

 

and so on.

I like this idea... Might make getting a group of race and/or DM players together alot easier.

I usually try an easy, well known race like The Commute to lure players in, but if the lobby fills up and everyone keeps voting for races it turns into a pretty fun afternoon.

I dunno if I agree. Sometimes it's nice to jump into a Race after playing Survival; or after a tedious mission where we didn't win, it's nice to jump into a Deathmatch.

That's kind of why the "refresh" is there, so if you don't like what you see the players can vote to see more, right?

One thing I do wish, however, is that after every match, the HOST would change. There's nothing worse than a host who doesn't listen to the other players politely asking, "can you please turn off Catch Up?" or "hey, we did sixteen Super races, can we maybe do one off-road?" or maybe, "hey toolbag - shut the traffic off!!"

Just saying, is all!

but if you hit join random you're getting exactly what you want

 

I was just thinking of deathmatches, after one game no one wants to play anymore so it takes ages seeking a lobby. I support the host idea btw

It does work as it is now.

 

Exceptt I would like to race more, and it sounds like the OP would rather DM.

 

I think that's why the Op stated that there should be 3 lobby types, one regular (as it is now for those who like variety), a race one and a DM one.

If you select 'join race' you have to remember not everyone in the lobby has done that as well. Some have joined from invites from free roam, others have joined from driving up to the marker on the map etc. There's no guarantee that all the people who join want to race exclusively.

 

I do agree, though. There should be an option for dedicated lobbies to races, deathmatches, missions. It's just doing this in a way that you're not endlessly searching through options and lists on your phone to get to it.

I guess it would be the same for all over job types, and that "random" lobby is just everything.

 

Technically all lobbies are just random, since most of the time you gotta leave an re-search for a race or DM

yes, also for DM's you should be able to join mid-game

too often do games bleed to death by people leaving the lobby or even mid game

Yeah this seems like a good idea. Sometimes I want to be sent to Prison thugz fight 9 times after I exited it lol. Or maybe Jumps jumps jumps another eight times, after quitting out of that one too.

Not bashing your idea btw, it is a good one because it'd be useful.
However, the match making sucks and it always sends me to the loser created jobs and they suck terribly.

so what? that could happen even if you were there from the start

besides it's not about the game you join, the one after will be a lot better and require less lobby time waiting for new players to join
