Different shaped tags

I noticed that some clan tags are angular and some are rectangles. Anyone know why?

IIRC it defines a rockstar approved crew from a user created crew.

 

if theres an angled tag then its rockstar approved, doesnt have the 300 member limit. Square ones are user created, limited to 300 members

 

then theres the 2 gold chevrons you might see on some crews, these are "founder" crews that were created before May 15th this year...

 

Finally the coloured bars at the bottom of the crew tag (on social club) represent your level within the crew, 1 bar = mscle 2 = rep 3 = lieutenant 4 = commissioner and 5 = leader.

 

I do have a source from the rockstar support page but ill ahve to dig it out for you, in the mean time im pretty certain thats accurate... but no doubt someone will correct me

Found the Source (it was in the fridge next to the mayo)... interestingly the answer on rockstars own page is actually wrong, it states that angled tags are user made and straight ones are rockstar made public crews... this is actually the other way round (as i orignally explained) which you can check by looking at the IGN or MP3 crew tag shape (angled), versus your own usermade crew (squared)...
