Useless thread titles

I've been noticing a whole lot of threads with titles that

- Are misleading

- Do not describe the content

- Are clickbait

- Just plain don't make any sense

Is there any way of encouraging users to put a little thought into their titles? Perhaps a little message next to the editor (see below) telling them that repeated offenses will incur warnings/bans?

Here's an example of what I mean...

If the title is not very understanding or proper, then the mods will lock them for not being more explainatory. You just need to report those threads.

You don't need to remind people on these stuffs. These tend to make them hyper and spam the thread titles.

Report those threads, if appropriate they will be locked/binned. If not the thread title will be edited.

I'm glad that it's the thread titles that are doing this and the posts don't just

I don't see a topic being liable for a lock if their title is simply misleading. We have a load of members that aren't to great when it comes to topic titles and it can be a pain strolling into a topic with a title that doesn't quite reach the standards or make sense. Through my eyes, a topic should only be locked/deleted if it is not prosperous (if it doesn't lead to trouble it's still fine) or a topic that contains porn in the OP.

OT: Even if this idea was adopted, I doubt it would make any difference.

Actually, the topic title is the main element in the threads. You can't just feel like discussing when the title feels wrong; there are many members who want a good presented topics.

Members who have hard time in deciding topic titles should at least give more detail in their opening post. Mods won't lock topics if the presentation is good and discussable. They will only lock it when it is a good attraction to spam or just sounds pointless.

Mos don't delete threads unless the topic is breaking some major rules.

While I do edit titles, I don't edit the whole thing unless asked to. This forum and every forum has that problem. There isn't really a fix to this and editing topic titles leads to confusion to the person who started the thread and ends up re-posting the topic a second time.
