thatGuyyy
I love when the dreary music starts building up as you see the ship approaching Liberty City, then at the climax you see the sky scrapers of Algonquin while 'GTA IV' appears on the screen. You just know that alot of great things are about to happen. I also love the serious and depressing atmosphere and how the intro sets the dark tone for the rest of the game. The whole sequence is just beautiful and gives me goosebumps everytime. Its much better than V's 'Welcome to Los Santos' intro Edited January 24, 2014 by thatGuyyy iiCriminnaaL, gear999, sivaG and 2 others

Dr. Ray De Angelo Harris
V´s intro is very well done, it´s fitting in. Remember, it represents SoCal. I really like the part when Michael says to the hobo "I know just how you feel..." But I agree, IV´s intro is the best intro of a GTA game so far, it matches the atmosphere of the whole game perfectly.
Shane_Dbns
The theme song is the best in the series, love it
Hodgey.
I have to say that I easily recall the opening to GTA IV and how the music sounds even though it was almost 6 years ago. However with GTA V I dont. For me the opening to GTA IV was very special and a great way to start the game especially with the music it had. Although for me its the second best opening behind GTA VC. D T
You summed it up quite well. The introduction for GTA IV was just pure brilliance. Everything about it was right on key from beginning to end. That shot of the game logo with the skyscrapers in the background still blows me away. I'm not sure how they went so wrong with V's intro, but it probably has something to do with the lack of Michael Hunter. iiCriminnaaL
Kiffster
IV's intro is good, but Vice City has the best one IMO. I love the LCS intro as well.

It doesn't pump me up for the game like IV's did

matajuegos01
It was one of the best introductions the GTA series has had, but the best intro in a game would be in Red Dead Redemptions, it kinda looks like the one in IV. By the way: I just started another playthrough of IV, any ideas?

Darth_Starkiller
Talking about the intro, seems like the RDR intro is somewhat based in IVs: there's a ship and a car being lifted out of it.
