Peaches84 Posted January 24, 2014 Share Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Was playing a few GTA races last night and my fellow racers were getting really fired up because they were getting targeted. One race I was in first, but still threw a couple of sticky bombs on the road and managed to blow up one of them. He was really pissed, saying I was cheating?! To me,GTA races are supposed to be carnage. It shouldn't matter if you are in fifth place and you want to shoot up the forth, it's all about taking as many people out to get the lead, yes? I understand being frustrated that you got killed and that it is hard, god knows I'm frustrated all the damned time. But they seem to be MORE than frustrated: They actually think they shouldn't be blown up. Like, THEY get to blow people up, but it's unfair that others can blow them up? I don't get it. Everyone is fair game and a target, no matter who they are. Friends, crew mates, etc. It does not matter. Everyone is fighting to finish in 1st place. That's the point of a GTA Race. You take out as much people as you can while fighting for the lead. Just because someone gets angry because they got blown up by someone and have some kind of exception is stupid on their part, If they can't handle it, why are they playing it in the first place? Everyone is fair game and a target, no matter who they are. Friends, crew mates, etc. It does not matter. Everyone is fighting to finish in 1st place. That's the point of a GTA Race. Fact. It's a race. If you're not first, you're last! And I wish more people would play the GTA races. A straight up race is good sometimes if it's just a matter of driving skill but if I wanted a straight up racing game, I would play a different game. If I could shoot from my car in NASCAR, I'd be a lot more down on playing racing games lol But, this is all just my personal opinion. If you think that "Racing" means, blow up everything and crash into everyone to win, then play the GTA races!! Now if (like me) you believe that "Racing" is a test of ones ability to get around a track as fast as possible, in one piece, then race "Races"! There is and should be a distinction. Its right there in the programming! You get a bonus at the end of laps, for Clean Laps! Meaning you DIDNT bounce everyone to get around the track! Now in GTA races, you dont get clean lap bonuses, but you do get damage bonuses (I think)! There is nothing worse than playing a "Race" game and it being nothing, but a Crash up derby.
