CantThinkOfOne2013
That would be a nice setting but I think I remember hearing that Rockstar said that there will never be a GTA set outside of the United States. If it were up to me, GTA VI would be set in Sydney.
Tycek
1st. You need english speaking country and China definitely isn't one of them. Only city that could work is Hong Kong with its British Influence over the years. 2nd. You need iconic city everybody knows. Shanghai is definitely nice city, but is it iconic in any way? I doubt if it would fit into GTA world. 3rd. You need culture to make jokes of it. Asian culture is very different from European/American thus making game hard to understand to typical western gamer. BLOOD
As everyone else said Rockstar already said GTA is not leaving the U.S not to even say it would return to London, which was the setting for 1999's GTA:London 1961 and 1969. Algonquin Assassin
GTA VI would be set in Sydney. GTA VI: Stories from Redfern and Liverpool Nights. Only an Aussie will get what I'm saying. OT: I'm thinking R* will never go to a country where English isn't the first language.
HOW'S ANNIE?
I don't think we'll see a GTA outside of the US until the Houser brothers retire or Rockstar goes broke and sells their assest. Even then I doubt that they will leave the English speaking world unless it's some overly iconic city (e.g. Paris or Dubai). @cantthinkofone2013, Syndey you say? Maybe then I will have my dream of hooning around in my pimped out Commodore (payed with by Centerlink, not criminal activities) around Bankstown and into King's Cross? You play as Andy, a bloke with a ute who lives with his mum playing N64 all day, Barry, a crazy bogan living in the outback, and Brent, a white guy trying to become a rapper. universetwisters
Pooyan Cyrus
The chance of GTA being set in Hell is way more than Shanghai.

universetwisters
It would make sense. The cops kill your family and throw you in a prison camp if they catch you littering. Wait, I'm thinking of Singapore

Well it doesn't have as much crime as LA or NY but you could make it work for a GTA game its not like I said set it in the Hamptons.
