Buzzard in missions...Is it helpful or annoying?

ANNOYING. Whenever I play a mission with "soft" objectives, the Buzzard pilot spams missiles Danger Close. This always destroys the objectives: briefcases, vehicles, anything that can be wrecked by an explosion. I hate failing missions because that one person in a Buzzard can't control the temptation to unleash a missile barrage. ._.

Knowing the mission objectives is a definite plus before you spawn the attack heli. I completely agree. I unfriended someone who was waaaaay too aggro with Buzzard rockets. He screwed up almost every mission we went on because of it.

Like that mission that has you get a plane on the beach and fly it to sandy shores airfield. Spam rockets on the trucks around the plane, blow the plane up.

See that is a big reason that they piss me off, the object is literally right in front of you (usually) yet they feel the need to drive off and ten mins later come back with a heli.

Unless you know what you're doing, you'll probably shoot first and fail later. I hate people that f*ck missions up like that.

When I'm on that mission I let the other players get the plane while I make my way up to the airfield and destroy everyone..... I've been on this mission one too many times when people don't figure out someone(s) needs to parachute and take out the bad guys....even though Lester said so. So everybody just sits around on the plane waiting for it to land LOL

(I'll admit that I made this mistake the first time I did this mission but it was pretty obvious what was going on when that dude in the middle of the airstrip knocked us down with the RPG)

Yea I used to tell the pilot to fly near the tower near the airstrip. I'd 'chute out and snipe the guys on the runway. It's fun when there's multiple people jumping out with you.

Once did Sinking Feeling after another job so we spawned real close to the tunnel entrance.

Hade a guy that went for his Buzzard, note to say it was only him and me in session.

Buzzard in the tunnels? Really?

Worst was that judging on the pay he hade done that mission before...

Helpful if I'm going solo and don't feel like dealing with Robocop clones all day. Did mixed up with coke and it was much smoother, same goes for trash talk. Really handy and glad I can use it whenever and during any mission.

I used it in the mission where you blow up the cement trucks. The mission became ridiculously easy.

As with the tanks and all heavy weapons, if used correctly it is very helpful, however I have been on missons where someone else has had a Buzzard and just spams rockets like there was no tomorrow and destroys the objective. I've done that once when it locked onto an enemy who must have been right next to the objective, never did it again.

The Los Santos Connection is the best one for the Buzzard, especially once you get to the airport. If everyone else is on the ground you have loads of time to kill the never ending stream of enemies. Last time I did it, I got 42 kills at the airport alone - the next highest was something like 9. Gives a load of extra RP all for $200. Mixed Up with Coke and the one where you take out all the jurors are a breeze solo with a Buzzard. It makes High Priority Case a lot easier solo but you still get cornered by the enemy chopper and have to gun it down on foot.

Do not do this mission with randoms who don't know how to use a trigger (properly), i would rate this as one of the worst for Buzzards to be in...

Oh yeah, that's why I try to be the first to the Buzzard and camp at the oil field straight away and thereafter head to LSC as soon as possible. I know to be careful of the back right corner of the hanger, others seemingly don't even on subsequent play-thoughs.

I only use it in Death From Above. It's kind of useless in other missions since they aren't too hard to pass on foot. I just suck at Death From Above. The kids using buzzards for those Geraldmissions usually end op blowing the coke anyway.

Use a tank in Death from Above if you have one. I still don't know how I escaped 4 stars in the streets of LS in a tank. The cops just gave up!

It's sad that i can predict that we're going to fail that mission when i do it with randoms, i'm pretty good at it these days :p

But yeah, time and place - simple missions do not require anything more than a broken bottle let alone full-on destruction from above.

I was just wondering what this community thought of people using the Buzzard attack helicopter in missions online.

I have a Buzzard myself and use it in certain missions because it is very helpful, especially on hard missions that are not underground or an objective that can't be destroyed too easily by an accidental rocket.

I was wondering what people think about the Buzzard when it's used in missions. Do you feel left out or that the Buzzard is cheap? Or are you thankful that someone has one?

Good thread!!! ( cant believe i'm actually saying that to someone on this forum lol)

My take is... I spent 1.7mill on my Buzzard and i'll use it as and when i feel like it. I will say however that I have actually learned how to use it as a help in missions and dont just spam rockets here there and everywhere. i dont use it on my first attempt at a mission as i will always do them solo/hard in vehicle. If i'm doing a mission with others and i know how to complete the mission then i will take my Buzzard and will fly to the target area and wait for team then i'll land and get out and help clear the area till someone gets whatever objective the mission requires and then i'll get back in Buzzard and fly at a good height clearing any enemies so my team gets to the end as safely as possible.

Not once have i destroyed and objective with my Buzzard or a PV for that matter. I have seen others use Buzzards in missions spamming rockets and generally acting like ashats and i can see how annoying it is but if you have someone in a mission with a Buzzard that actually knows how to use it well then it's incredibly handy and you can complete missions fast, clean and somewhat organised.

I usually only call mine in if the dumbass person hosting the mission made the spawn on the other side of the map. The Buzzard just makes the already easy missions even easier and usually end up doing all the work.

I like using the Buzzard during missions. It makes completing them very quick for some quick cash. Anywhere between 10-18k for a few minutes.

I find getting $18750 in a short amount of time to be fun. I enjoy finding ways to do missions in a hurry.

I don't find pressing A until you win very fun :p

You never played Mortal Kombat II on the SNES, did you?

Buzzard users want the benefits of hard difficulty but want whatever work it takes to be easy...smh, buncha lazy self entitled youths.

I will go outa my way to f*ck up a mission where the panty waist is blowing everything up in his free ammo, auto-aim-rocket bot. I don't want to be associated with such disgrace.

When I am solo playing, I always find a way to use a tank or buzzard or cargo bob.

I use them simply because it's usually quicker and easier when you have a mission on hard.

If you have problems with blowing up the mission objectives, use the machine guns.

1. Who gives a f*ck what people think.

2. Trail your teammates and use it as *support* to destroy vehicles coming after them.

3. Don't be an idiot and blow up the objectives (packages, planes, vehicles, etc.).

4. Use the buzzard to flank enemies if your teammates are suppressed.

5. Be selective with your shots, make sure you're not blowing up PVs or objectives from the missile blast radius.

6. Losing a mission is annoying, use the Buzzard to win.

If I want to get a mission done for the RP and cash, I use a Buzzard. I would rather spend $200 and 6 minutes in Trash Talk with the Buzzard than $2000 on stickys and driving around taking more than 6 minutes. I've seen others do it as well, so it really doesn't bother me. I already know the objectives for most of them so I don't have to worry about blowing up the coke or whatever. I still have fun playing missions, especially using a Cargobob on trailer missions.

I find an Entity to be better for this mission; as long as you go in alone, keep your back to the NPCs (cheap but works wonders), you can clear the area and take the pic in no time flat. Then escape with ease.

But I don't bother with that mission anymore anyways - it's no fun and the payout is poor.

It's amazing when someone with a brain and some self control is at the helm. Makes missions a breeze
