Turn catchup off

Catchup isn't based on sh*t. It's a ton of bullsh*t that allows weaker drivers a chance to catch up. Get your facts straight before spouting off with your nonsense.

 

 

Lol one can say Catchup OFF is good for preventing weak players from staying in 1st place. If they can't keep their position, they don't deserve it.

I'm assuming you're one of those cum dumplings who allow custom vehicles but catchup off. You can still lose regardless.

 

Catchup is a mechanic that's pretty nifty, it can be annoying but it's not a new thing. It's actually based on drafting, a real life thing in racing, especially Nascar.

Slipstream is based on drafting.

Both catch up and that [email protected] stupid slip stream feature need to be permanently disabled from all point to point races in a future update. In GTA races these are perfectly acceptable to have. But not in point to point. Way too much abuse and dirty driving results from having those 2 features on in every race I've every done. That's why if I host, 100% of the time my racing setup is based on pure racing skill aka:

 

no catch up ever.

100% raining all the time

Traffic & Wanted levels ON 100% of the time

No custom cars (if race is restricted to super class)

weapons off

 

wheat always gets separated from the chaff 100% of the time in races setup like that .

All that happens with it ON is aholes in Adders and Entitys slamming into and ramming people off the road. Then they get a chance to continue it with no consenquence. How on earth does that require skill?

Turning catchup off is fine if you don't allow custom cars, but I always felt it was a little unfair on the lower level players that don't have all the customisation options. If I join a lobby set up this way, and the host only wants to race supercars, my first thought is "Hmm... this guy is trying to boost".

Well I like playing with good racers and most of them have good cars. I am not trying put catch up on so people have a chance, I have it off so we can race without handicaps.

 

Did I ever resort to name-calling? No. So who's the angry guy now? I'm just stating the fact that if you want that setting off so badly, host your own race with that off and invite people. Easy as that.

It is like that in any racing. Comparing it to circle track racing is foolish. Also, I am not playing "the wrong" game. The option is in this game... Any other stupid smart @ss comments you care to share?

WRONG. I guess I forgot to add one more feature R* needs to add in a future update---GHOST THE GOD DAMN CARS.

 

That way, if you insist on trying to sabotage my vehicle--in a non GTA race---then you you should have the right to do so. And the right to lose the race, for wasting precious seconds of your racing time driving SIDEWAYS INSTEAD OF DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD

 

And there shouldn't be any catchup to give you a pass on your stupidity. Because I shouldn't be penalized for your complete lack of driving skill or ability to get from one point to the next. Pitting, ramming or trying to generally sabotage another players vehicle has no place in a point to point IMO. That's what the frigging GTA and vehicle derbys are for---dirty drivers.

 

How can trying to run over--aka murder--another player on a dirt bike with a Sandking supposed to show skill? That's a cheap ass way to try and win a race. And if you need to resort to doing so, then you're showing you've got zero driving skills. And yes, that did happen to me in one of those off road races up in Sandy Shores. My sanchez was the only bike in a 14 vehicle race. And yes, I won--by a light year.

 

Sandking guy came in dead last, because he couldn't handle the sharp turns on wet pavement. And didn't realize that was the worst choice for an off road vehicle in terms of speed. It was funny listening to that kid rage quit the voting session on the mike.

Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people. She is a truck driver that has bad knees and a bad back from driving the truck but you probably do not care about that case either. Oh well I am not one of those people I am 6'4" 245lbs and I exercise every day. I would love to see you say something like that to my mother in front of me.

I agree with the OP. I once got kicked out of this guys car. I started running after his car but he managed to drive away faster than I could run.

 

I kept running after his car but he got further and further away. I decided to run into the middle of the map and see if I could cut him off in the corner but he just kept on driving away taking corners before I could get him it was so hard to get back in the car and I was left in the middle of Blaine County I don't want to drive the tractors I want to be with him.

 

He didn't let me back in the car.

I use to hate it but now I see its good for the game bcuz if its on GTA race and you get blown up or someone wrecks you you're race is over. With catchup on you still have a chance. Only if GTA is off and the lobby is full of clean racers should catchup be off.
