Do you feel embarassed when you DNF in GTA Races?

Depends if there are friends involved or not and if they're on mic :p

Randoms? No, it's usually because of them that i DNF.

Nope, should we be feeling embarrassed for not finishing a race?

I can't even remember the last time I DNF. It is frustrating no doubt and I'd imagine if you're playing with a group of friends it could be quite embarrassing. But I don't get too fussed about it, most DNFs are caused by douchebags smashing into you on every single corner.

Sort of. I don't embarrass easy because f*ck the opinions of others. I do play to win and have pride in skill though, so I love hitting first and detest being skunked (dunfed). I don't get mad though, nor do I gloat after winning.

No, I don't care about that stuff. I sure prefer finishing/winning. But it really doesn't matter.

Not really. I'm usually more interested in getting into the next race so I can do better.

Maybe that's just my mindset though.

I DNF plenty, half due to my own bad driving and half due to the ubiquitous rammers. I am beyond embarrassment, but also I don't get any big joy out of racing anyway. I'm just forced to do it in a pathetic, futile attempt to unlock car performance mods. So the wins (about one win a week) are very important. About a year from now I should have my car mods unlocked.

Yeah same. Sometimes if I can tell I'm going to get a DNF finish ill just sit my car there not moving for a while before starting again and saying something like "Damn, My control run out of batteries"over the head set. It worse when you invite a level 10 or something onto a mission thinking to yourself "I'm such a nice guy, taking this newbie under my wing and letting them earn a bit of money. I'll show them how skilled you can get with a bit more practice. I don't think I know anyone as kind and good as I am". You then die twice as soon as starting the mission (using all the team lives up) only for the level 10 to flawlessly complete the mission and leave in disgust.

Biohazard Abyss

208 wins

139 losses

All from farming criminal records for race wins over multiple characters with different people.

Because I hate racing in this game, I wouldn't know how it feels to DNF.

Never got DNF before.

It gives you more rp if you're a new rank

a guy Dnfed yesterday and got 1500 rp at rank 5

I wouldn't say embarrassed - more pissed off because much of the time when I'm winning a race I get a "You've been disconnected from X-Box Live" message. Always when racing... sh*tty wireless connection I expect can't handle the data.

I only DNF if I'm getting hard lag. Still embarassing though as it's gonna look like I'm spazzing around lol

I DNF usually at races which I dont know lay out. There are so many different races its impossible to learn them all. So DNF doesnt bother me.

I don't think DNFs should embarrass anyone, stupidly blowing up the trailer you have to deliver in a mission is however. :)

No, because mostly it is due to others being assholes and ramming me to Narnia or me just not caring anymore (due to others being assholes).

in the 1000+ races I've raced I've gotten a DNF on maybe 4 races.

No, because it's almost always because of some asshole going the wrong way and ramming people.

Ah, I've had this happen a couple of times. I actually made the exact same mistake twice, thankfully both times when I was doing the mission solo. 2 times, on one of those missions where you have to deliver a container with a Cargobob, I dropped the container from some height into the yellow marker instead of lowering it until it dropped automatically, and bailed from the Cargobob. The game doesn't register it when it doesn't drop automatically, even if you drop it right into the marker. So I think I delivered it, and bail from the Cargobob to have a little more exciting ending. Cargobob blows up, container is sitting there right where it's supposed to, but I can't finish the mission. So frustrating after having just done the whole mission solo, which isn't easy. I'm never going to make that mistake again. Then again, that's what I told myself the first time.

ok, see, same exact thing happened to me, except I destroyed the bob trying to pick it back up right, then, I died because I was out of lives, so partner drives all the way back to the docks and attempts to bring the fork lift to fix the situation, and gets run over by a freight train. :)

Yes, I feel embarrassed when I do not finish a race. I lock myself in my room and sob for days on end, such is my embarrassment at being unable to complete a digital race.

I tried to get the fork lift too, and almost got hit by the freight train. I think this was on Docks to Stocks 2, where the container is inside a big building instead of under the bridge. I found out it's impossible to drive the forklift to Lester's place because every possible route out of there has some obstacles which are too low for the forklift to go under.

I don't care if i get DNF because its usually a connection issue that keeps making me spin out on nothing.

Sometime you get a bad connection to the host or other players and it keeps thinking your car is not really where you see it on your screen.

You catch slip streams from blocks away that keeps messing with your speed.. You wipe out on nothing while doing simple turns or driving straight because the game thinks you're somewhere totally different.

I've noticed 2 things about racing. When you have perfect connection to the host and others everything goes alot smoother and its alot harder to wipe. Even a slight delay in connection will cause easier wipe outs on even the most minor things.

Its even funnier when you are in 2nd place in a public race and Catch Up decides to slow you down instead of the guy way in front. Laggy connections are a biaaatch.
