Gifting cash is not allowed.

 

So, is giving another player an expensively modified (non-premium) vehicle explicitly to be sold for cash allowed?

 

Does it make a difference if the modifications are not unlocked yet by the receiving player?

if it is to be sold...it could possibly be considered taboo if the car was gained from illicit funds...but I give fully modded cars to my friends all the time. but they dont do it for the money so...yeah, it is one of those things that could swing both ways.

That is perfectly fine. You won't get in trouble for giving or receiving expensive cards to sell. And no, it doesn't matter if you or the other player have not unlocked the modifications yet.

Hard to say. If they sell for a really large amount of money (higher than what Rockstar has set as the cap for what you should be able to get legit) then Rockstar might do something about it, to either your friend, you, or both. All of this stuff is recorded through records and stats online, so one never really knows what they are looking for, or might be looking for in the future. By the tone of your first post, you seem worried you might get caught. If that is a genuine concern you have, then it might be a good idea not to do it anymore, unless the friend you do it for needs a fully modded car that they plan on keeping, I would assume that would be fine, but selling it would most certainly be 'against the rules', and one never knows if Rockstar will pull out the ban hammer, the clean bank account sword, or the helmet of looking the other way.

The real question here is: who cares?

 

If it increases the enjoyment you receive from the game and doesn't hurt anyone else, knock yourself out.

 

If you worry yourself about possible punishment, then maybe you shouldn't do whatever it is that your thinking of doing.

Piece of advice for anyone using cars as their main income now....car sales were wiped to zero so it's entirely possible that they did that to catch dupe glitchers.

Gifting cash is not "not allowed". It's disabled - that's a very different thing. Don't get too hung up about what you can and can't do unless you're knowingly hacking the system.

people are selling fully modded cars they bought with "dirty" monies, & R* doesn't seem to be bothered by it.

 

just don't over do it.

 

if your car sales stats double in a 24 hr. time period it may raise flags.
