Yea, Dillon and I took one up last night, but didn't have a 3rd person to fully test/film. Scoob is going to help us this afternoon with a test run. We did drive em off the building mind you, survivable lol

how about a cargobob car toss contest?

like trying to get close to a target or something

A slightly different version of this is lift a players vehicle (with them in it) as high as possible and release. Have judges score their acrobatic tricks in the air.

Could also do this with titan and bikes.

What about ski jumping like event off the Thelma and Louise spot. Distance and form count. Car, bike, and truck each have their own category.

Hey gang, we did the Old Man's Crack meet up on the weekend. To get a sense of what the final production of this particular series will play out, quality wise etc...

As for this one, we're going to do the events in series of 3... or at least the first one, to see how much time it takes. I will be posting the event tomorrow in the 'meet ups' section of the boards. I shall PM everyone in this thread to give ya first crack at being part of the event.

Obviously, we can only have 16 peeps, and 3 of those spots will be the production crew... anyway, looking forward to it. Details will be posted in the morning!! Stay tuned!

Biohazard Abyss

Could make a challenge that's like from the movie Speed.

Both players are assigned the same exact vehicles, with sticky bombs attached to them by 2 other different players. Then they zoom down whatever designated route, while the people in command of the sticky bombs follow behind in I guess Entitys since they are the easiest to drive.

Whatever player crashes first gets and loses a large amount of speed gets blown up immediately after :p

Interesting, but I do wonder how one qualifies 'loss of speed'? I guess if they hit a car, guardrail or something? Anyway, I'll add it to the list... see where it leads.

Anyway, we're rolling with round one tonight, be sure to sign up if you haven't already; http://gtaforums.com/topic/679187-gta-online-olympics;-round-1/

The next one will be on the weekend... thanks again for a input folks. Lot's of fun ideas to work with over the next while... (and peeps say their bored of the game? Huh... )

Yeah if they hit something. A route can be created with a good amount of obstacles, or a simple drive down the highway in the oncoming lane :)

Surely has to be done in buses as well?

how about testing the SPEED (bus) idea tonight?.

We can rig a car with remote bomb (can you rig a bus?). That person starts a predesignated route and we watch on the TV! you slow down, we ring in the remote?

Well, some of the high points from the movie were on the highways/over passes. We can easily set out a route through the downtown highways and across the bridges etc. That + traffic, we should be good to go.

Yea, ok... I should be on a bit before this event, so we can give it a go.

Here are a couple of CargoBob events that I haven't seen mentioned. Both are a variation of a relay event.

2 teams of 4 people each with a CargoBob and a shipping container each (pv would work too). Set up relay points around the city where the pilot has to drop his cargo (PVs have to be driveable after the event) land the CargoBob, switch pilots, pick up the cargo and fly to the next relay point, rinse and repeat. Fastest to the finish with a functioning PV wins.

The variation on the above would be with a single pilot for each team and multiple objects that have to be picked up and moved.

In either event the relay points should be in places where it'd take some skill to maneuver the cargo and helicopter into place.

I like the 'relay' idea of it... could even have a team member at each 'check point'. Bob pilot drops PV, gets out, teammate gets in and picks up PV again.

The real issue is the locations. Need enough room for two bobs to land, or it isn't really fair. And, need locations peeps can find. We really don't want peeps to have to memorize a course ahead of time. But, given the 'pilot at each check point' concept, it would be fairly easy to see the blip on the map. Or, potentially a co-pilot that marks out next location?

Either way, I like it. Just need to refine a bit

I wasn't very clear in my post but having the next pilot staged at the drop off point was what I had in mind. Like you said, that'd make it easy for everyone to find the next relay point. I'll do a little exploring this evening and see if I can pick out a few suitable locations.

I spent a few minutes last night scoping out possible stops for a relay and there are plenty within the confines of the city. There are numerous parking lots and sports fields that are roomy enough to accommodate 2 cargobobs with cars in tow. See below, the, parking lot @ Del Perro Beach, golf course parking lot, amphitheater in Vinewood Hills, Vinewood Hills racetrack & Elysian Island (east side of the warehouses) to name a few.

If you decide to hold this event the relay points can be ID'd pretty quickly once you have an idea of the time you'd like to expend for each relay.

Cool stuff man, I like it. Have U added me? I wouldn't mind testing it to see how it rolls. We generally test all the events ahead of time.

Here's a video of the first round. Let me know what ya think so far... was a sh*t ton of fun (click through to YT to listen to it)

Looks great!! Ideas for future events:

Dozer Wrestling: Two ppl square off in bulldozers. First one to flip the other wins.

50m Fireball: Each player starts at something explosive (there are explosive barrels in Content Creator) with a gas can. They all pour gas to a certain set point (50m Fireball just sounded cool) then set the gas trail on fire. The first to have their explosive barrel explode wins. I have not tried this, I am just sitting here brainstorming, so it will have to be tested.

Also, someone mention only high level players could do the RPG skeet shooting. It could be made as a deathmatch using the Content Creator.

This is really sad bros, seriously.

Yea, yer right... maybe we should be creating "We're bored of GTA online" threads or something yea? Speaking of bored, really had the time on yer hands to come and post that? If you're not interested, great. To each their own. Don't see the need to sh*t on the fun others are having.

And yes, it is a lot of fun to meet some of the fellow forum hounds and do strange/silly things together. It's been a blast. Maybe you should come hang with us and try it... might actually enjoy it.

Ok folks... Round two is now done,

. We're now ramping up for round 3 for those interested, details here.

Big thanks to Mo-Seph for the triathalon idea, we'll be using it this week. We're also working on the Bob relay idea... will be doing that for the weekend event. Also planning on using the 'Speed' one and a few others. Been fun so far.

Any other ideas, keep 'em coming!

I wouldn't mind having a triathlon or decathlon in MP. I would definitely play it.

Added: also these vehicle relays you speak of sound fun. I'm down for it.

thanks that you still post your opinion in every thread. What would we do without you?

Probably take this forum more seriously than you already do.

It's only a computer game forum, lighten up!
