Why do you feel a need for "rare" cars?

That's part of the reason that I don't own a Tailgater. Sure, it may be considered "rare" by others, but I just don't find it appealing to have or drive.

Really? I think it looks really nice without sh*tty luminous rave paint. Pretty fast too.

I'm an Audi lover, what can I say?

I really like it too, but unfortunately my garage is already full. I might replace my Emperor or Super Diamond for a Tailgater though. Does it have the same customization options as in SP?

I use rare cars because I wanna be different from others. I normally roll out with a coil voltic or the neglected Surano which is very underrated, when I feel like taking a cruise around I just use the Dubsta V2. Love it

Oh you're back..

Anyway, I drive my stratum often because it's based of a BNR32 Wagon, love those stuff. I brought it in from SP myself, having unique body style on it that doesn't spawn in MP.

how hip of you :)

How did your two days of being banned pass?

I've just always preferred the Schafter in every single aspect. I like the handling, the looks, the performance, and the cosmetic options for the Schafter much more than the Tailgater.

It's just my personal preference.

Something I been trying to understand, why do people give so much value to "rare" cars? Rare here meaning cars with low spawns, low usage, some unique characteristic or at times even glitched into the game.

In the first weeks tried collecting most rare cars, this day I can say I owned every vehicle in the game at least once.

Let me stop you right there..... you're an idiot. Why did YOU feel the need for "rare" cars..... if you cannot remember (which you claim you can't), then there is no hope for you here.

All the 'rare' cars suck anyway, there's no reason to have them unless you actually like the look of them.

Having them just because you think that they are rare is stupid, since anybody can get one.

There's a reason why a lot of the cars are unused as personal vehicles, it's because they suck. People say that there's certain cars in the game that are under-rated, I don't think that there's any cars that are under-rated, it's just chances are, there's a better equivalent, hence why nobody uses it.

In short, why have a car just because it's rare? I'm criticizing this trend I notice of having rare stuff. The post right under yours makes a great point tho I say that because it's the attitude I am trying to give. Like a car because you like it, not because others might.

I know I did. But I wasn't asking why I thought that, I want to know if my answer is mutual. That P.S. is what I think it would make sense it should be like, yet I still see people with cars they never use.

A lot of people have cars they keep exclusively for racing (which is why you don't see them), and in some cases the rarer cars are among some of the better in their class, like the Imponte Phoenix.

For me the Rat-Loader was (and will be again) more of a trophy vehicle than anything - something to modify for fun and cruise around in away from the action because of it's poor turning performance, and I think a lot of people who owned one didn't exactly use it for drive-bys. In the right lobby everyone who didn't know would ask what it was and where you got it, but in the "wrong" ones they were pretty much nothing but bomb bait.

Another thing about a lot of the more rare vehicles is a lot of them seem to offer more customization options than their purchasable counterparts. The Bodhi (when you had to go out of your way to get it) had more than the rest of the trucks, The Bagger and Daemon have way more than the Hexer and other bikes, and the Rat-Loader is a given, and those are just the ones I own/have owned. I'm sure that list can be expanded on.

The real "show-offs", in my opinion, aren't spending the time looking for the rare cars and instead are just buying the most expensive super cars and spending money on ugly modifications and horrifying paint jobs. I think a lot of them genuinely think their #chromeyoloswagmobiles make everyone else in the lobby jealous. Despite the descriptions on the website I don't consider them truly 'rare', considering anyone can buy them.

I like looking for rare cars. Some end up being pretty cool so I kept them. Love my phoenix. Probably my favorite muscle car.

I've had all the rare cars but they were all useless performance-wise. I actually really enjoyed the hunt for them.

I've only kept my sultan (not rare) Franklyn's buffalo, tailgater and convertible sentinel, but I might get rid of the latter.

If you think that the Buffalo Mk 2 and the Bodhi are slow then you should just not drive anything but the Adder or the Entity.

Because possession of objects is an indicator of an individual who is successful/thriving. Anyone can see today how possessions=power.
But what about rarity. Yes, envy is right. Monkeys and humans alike want what we cannot have. We covet. And the fewer people that have the item, the more prestigious it is as a symbol.
Basically, evolutionary psychology.

Now there's a Tailgater with a proper paint job, they are rare to see. Also, there's no carbon Formula 1 spoiler wing ugliness. I like! Mine is exactly the same, but silver and with a black grille :)

I got extremely lucky and found my Tailgater on my first try. There's no way I'm giving it up any time soon.

I've tried most of the "rares"

I didn't care for the Nemesis, replaced it with another Akuma as soon as I got it.

I have a Bagger and Phoenix which are kind of uncommon, no really rare, and a Tailgater on my 2nd character that I've had since the 1st race, will trade it out eventually , but havn't had the need to as of yet.

I'm just waiting for a ratloader and if I ever find the BF buggy, the long shaped one I'll replace my Bifta for that.

Performance trumps rarity for myself personally, except in the case of the Bagger and Phoenix which are just fun and badass IMO

But I don't remember why. So much effort to get a car then when I had it, I didn't find much use for it. It just stayed in the garage wasting space until I sold it and regretted all the money and time I spent on it. At present my garage is balanced so no vehicle is too similar to another and each as it's purpose. No influence in rarity, anyone's opinion or it's cost.

Always thought people wanted rare cars because others didn't have them. But that rarity turns on itself. Now everyone wants and has rare cars so they aren't rare anymore. You are more likely to see an Asea in someone's garage than a Faggio. At first the Adder was a sought after car, now it is the most hated car so everyone jumps on the Entity which will probably be hated next since everyone seems to act hipster. (P.S. Get the car YOU like, not what others think is cool)

Also rare cars tend to be inferior to more common ones. The Funeral Hearse feels like an inferior Stainer, all the collector's edition vehicles are the lowest performance in its class, the manana is a cruising car. I get that some people like these traits, but I am fine with that. I am questioning people that wanna have all rare cars because they are rare.

I feel the point of rare cars is to grab attention from other players which for me doesn't last more than an hour until I replace it.

I like the XS and the Tailgator/Tailgater (don't care to figure out the correct spelling)cause of the customization options.

A lot of the cars like the Carbon...are great...especially stat wise...but customizing them, forget about it.

looks man! some of the rare cars are some of the best looking. I have a Phoenix, bagger, f620 and intruder. I'd say only the intruder doesn't immediately pop as visually appealing because it's a niche look (Japanese VIP style cars) but man yeah, love these cars for their looks.

there's also a lot of good looking common cars (ruiner, stratum, futo, primo, etc) that I'd love to have if I had more garage space.

some of the rare cars are way too bland for me though, like the tailgater and hardtop mañana (truly better looking without a top) so I have no desire to really own them even if they're hard to find.

I don't get why this is even an issue. People want rare cars, why not let 'em have it? Personally I own a Mad-Max lookalike Phoenix with black turbine rims and I ain't complaining.

only "rare" cars I even care for are the phoenix and the ruiner, but thats because i liked how they looked, being rare only added slightly more value to them

but i'm not gonna hunt a car just cuz it's rare, most of the "hard to find" cars are boring as sh*t to me

With rarity comes value. It's the reason gold is worth what it is.

R* would be smart to create 200 vehicles. Sell them for $7 each, or $10 for two. Nobody could own them all, and would allow everyone to have a rare vehicle. Not to mention the money they would make.

Because the Tailgater is cool. I own a Schafter, I have a fully modded Elegy, I own a supercar, and I own a couple of cars that are better stats-wise.

Guess what? I don't drive them. I like the Tailgater. The last time I drove my other cars was to change plates. That's it.

Biohazard Abyss

People need to stop stocking their garages with cars they don't use. Every single one of my 20 cars I enjoy. It's stupid that people put crap in their garage and keep it there forever.

It's a GARAGE, not a goddamn showroom.
